Hrmmm...I'm liking this font better than the last I used, I think.

Thank you all for welcoming me. I guess the timing's pretty right, given that a few members will be busy in the coming weeks. Myself, I'll be intensely occupied starting June, so let's hope that I do a good job in the weeks between now and then.

So...background on the rival agency:

I'm assuming that everyone in Van Hellsing is a humanist: ergo, they prize humanity above all else. That's not really a shock, but given that there are times when it's human kind that oversteps bounds and threatens other creatures, the humanist viewpoint becomes problematic. For example, in the second mission (if I may be allowed to detail a bit of it), the whole mess is incited by human beings and the creatures involved are only reacting out of instinct. Still, the Van Hellsing agency determines that they have to deal with the creatures, not the erring humans.

That's where the rival agency steps in. If you play RPG's, place their alignment along the lines of true neutral. They believe that there's a balance in nature that has to be respected, even if it is detrimental to human kind at some point. They believe in justice, as well, and don't believe that humans have the exclusive on rightness.

You'll see why...my character sheet:

Name: Veldrin (surname unknown)
Nickname: If anyone did attempt to call him anything but his name, they're either unwilling or unable to share the results with anyone else.
Codename: Red Grape. Though since he isn't at all part of the agency it shouldn't really apply...maybe you guys can decide to call him that for lack of a better reference...
Age: Unknown
Position: Presumably the figurehead of the opposing organization, though given the mystery surrounding it it's impossible to be sure.
Personality: By all accounts he's a mild-mannered gentleman who is apparently very indulgent of others. Still, he has his own way of looking at the world that he almost never sets aside, despite surface tolerance of opposing views. The few that know him well can attest to a well-employed cruel streak, a very manipulative nature, and beneath it all an almost puritanical devotion to a particular belief.
Quirks: Is more offended than affected by crosses.
Background: Despite belonging to a similar organization, Veldrin and what he represents draw a crucial line as far as organizational ethics. Whereas the Hellsing Agency is humanist and utterly devoted to the protection of humanity above and beyond all other beings, Veldrin and his organization believe that humans should not be allowed to monopolize the sanctity of existence. While the Hellsing Agency can afford to simply equate victim to human, Veldrin's agency guards what they believe to be an important natural balance. Other creatures exist in the same world as humans and Veldrin and his agency do not believe that humans have the right to destroy other beings simply for being what they are. Of course, given that Veldrin is a vampire such a belief is not surprising.
Veldrin holds no particular grudge against humanity, nor is he as bloodthirsty and animalistic as many would depict vampires to be. Indeed, his agency does see the reason in human beings needing shelter from creatures that would prey on them. However, in cases where the humans transgress (and he can point to many such instances), Veldrin considers it an injustice to spare the wrong-doer. As far as being good or evil, his alignment is open to interpretation.
Appearance: Always well-groomed, of mixed descent, though predominantly his features are Caucasian.
Eyes: Hazel.
Hair: Black.
Skin: White. As a sheet.
Height: 6'3.
Weight: 180 lbs.
Clothes usually seen in: Dark formal attire, though now and then he's known to slip into slacks and a loose button-down shirt.


So there you have it. I'm hoping you all approve. I'll be waiting in the wings, I suppose, while you guys wrap up the first mission.

I've never thought of humanity in the context of binary opposition. Some monster may be monsters but there are human qualities about them as well. Humanity is defined by numerous acts and ideals about being human.

But that is thread that has yet to be developed anyway. Welcome officially Dmoncar. I like the character. I was actually thinking that the RP should have someone who plays the "bad guys".

Also since it was asked earlier to make suggestions for which monsters to kill/pacify I just thought that it'd be interesting to have a doppleganger in future missions.

Elryde, were you gonna suggest something about Seth's injury? Maybe let's post it here now so Connude can approve of it too. And maybe Ballog too.

So in the midnight meet, let's all try to fit ourselves in the truck. Here, there will be the autopsy reports, the string of similar killings report and the Aimee account. And dope as Nick will tell us of the manananggal.

So tell us where you want your character to be, the roof, to kick the monster's butt er, waist up, or with the group to look for it's lower half. Kundiman will have to guard Aimee from the inside. Maybe Ri will stay too?

Oh and dope, sure sure, doppelgangers are cool. Perhaps post a possible venue and conflict if you have any idea? If others have monster ideas too it would be cool to vote.

I vote to stay with Kundiman. There is that rule about not being alone on a job anyway so Ri will stay as a nun.

as for Seth's injury, let's just say he got whacked, er, hit from a blow behind him...or something...maybe getting push and falling...off stairs, a balcony, the truck's (wouldn't a van be better?) roof (what he would be doing there I have no idea XD)...uhm...that's all for now. ^^;

for Ballog, uhm...outside job? he's kinda like a loner...with contacts...but still a loner (no offense ch33no)

we will fit into that truck(/van?) but playing sardines. XD

I'll post after work today, but there isn't much my character can do to advance the plot other than character development.

I have a question, my character is currently with seth, so what would happen to her?

Oh right, I'm on the roof along with Ballog and Sir Brightglory. Although all this bunnying around is making me dizzy. XD

Lol, I still would like to know what to do, whether Noelle ends up in a similar state or whether she sorta saves seth, even though she is a death fanatic.

@kilana: is there a significant difference in having the liver and not just the stomach being ruptured...? sorry, never was good in bio. XD
