There are still spaces. Hello Orkzmicheal. Hopefully you'll stick. People have been registering then not showing up again ever. Sigh. Oh well. A character sheet would be really nice so I can approve you. There's one available in hte first post here ever. Haha. The first post basically tells you most of the things you have to learn.

Hey guys, I've thought up something that will help in all our confusion... maybe we should put times in our posts. Like at the top you say 3am or something. Let's all start doing that. Before and after will be better so we'll kn0ow if the sun is up, or if it is lunch or something.

And I was thinking... due to my recent brush with a supernatural season three dvd... that we should try to be cooler than those dudes. Hehe. I'll try to put a little more gritty darkness into my posts... and why I put that here I don't know.

Anyway, I was thinking of making a thread in the gallery where we can post pictures of our characters for fun. So we can better envision them. Let's put a real person's (Ah, not anime?) picture, any celebrity will do. Then let's put a picture of... an animated one? Then maybe after that our own drawings? Something to that effect. I just thought it would be fun. Tell me what you think.

is it too much? I know it's long (, I know. I just wanted it believable so I typed in Ri describing our new gadgets)...but uh, it has spaces so people can fill in their POVs ...and yes, time jump once more. it's so convenient when you want things to move forward. also, just assume technology is catching up to imagination (specifically, mine. haha XD) thus the ever so convenient machines we will be using.

design of your communicator is up to you, just keep it small, tiny even and not...too much. going overboard in design is kinda silly.

Anyway, I just realized we need to characterize our vampires. We're not going for all those cannot be seen in te mirror ting are we? So I'm proposing certain things about the lore and myths then you guiys suggest changes and all okay?

First and most important thing is that VAMPIRES ARE EVIL. They are instinct driven creatures who will kill, feed and rape. They may be in control or lucid for a certain period of time but they will eat, maim, kill or rape you eventually. Think trained tigers or bears. They may be nice for the show but they will eat you, attack you (God, hopefully not rape you) when they have the chance after.

Vampires were humans infected with a certain virus that requires them to ingest and or drink blood regularly. It also reduces the brain to the most basic of instinct. Contact with blood can make you a vampire if it is able to circulate. Maybe a spoonfull through swallowing will turn you unless you throw up asap. If it's injected directly to bloodstream you're doomed. Blood contact... maybe an infection? But if treated well it'll be fine.

Skin will be sensitive to light. UV rays specifically. Kinda like micheal jackon.

They heal fast and the only way to kill them is to behead or obliterate the heart completely (so yay stakes). You can obviously maim but it'll be better to kill them. They're constantly on an adrenaline high. So they're always stronger, faster and um... constantly turned on. For fun.

They like to be in groups or nests of at least three. Of coure there will be exeptions but still.

I can't find any scientific reason for holy water and crosses. Maybe holy water came from wells then so it is always mineral water? They don't like mineral water? Hehe. OR something. Or not. I think or not. Crosses don't affect them too. Unless they're pointed.

Any suggetions?

The only possible link with church crosses (apart from the whole holy Vs evil thing) is the association to silver.

It is quite an interesting technique for getting rid of werewolves that I believe originated here in Britain. We all know that to kill a werewolf you use the silver bullet and shoot it, they transform back and the human form will share an injury. In the tradition I dug-up, this silver bullet had to be made of the silver of a crucifix from a Catholic Church.

Few other logical explanations do exist; silver is a commonly associated metal with the moon and since the tendency of creatures like vampires and werewolves is to come out at night, or else the full moon idea, the use of a lunar-related metal make sense. Aside form that silver also represents the human soul and so is used to to force a reversion to human state.

One last one, that is much more scientific fact, is that silver is a very very good natural antiseptic. Even today it's used in plasters, so if the belief of the origins of a vampire is medical/viral then the idea of silver being used to cure a virus makes perfect sense.
So the church cross should work, so long as it's made of silver.

As for the water, all I can see is that Bram Stoker made that up based on a couple of precedents from Chinese and Greek mythology.
