Default A bit of help concerning a name-change.

I was considering asking an admin to see if he could change my name to 76. (76 with a period at the end so that it's three characters(the minimum character-length for a user-name here is three.))

Typical naming convention. How would one know that it's the other way around without knowing you?

Now, everyone that knows me calls me 76, but now that there is a user named Spellcaster76, I was a bit concerned about confusion between the two of us. The first and second quotes tell me to change my name to avoid the confusion, while the third wards me from it.

Help?

Would changing my name to just '76.' prevent confusion or frustrate people that are already used to seeing me as isudae?

((On a side-note: To anyone who is used to seeing 'isudae76', I could always just link to this thread in my signature. That way when you saw my signature you'd know who I was/am.))

I know that this is really...meh, because there's a low-chance that anyone will make such a mistake, but as the guild grows, more and more people will be taking up names.
When people say 'Hey 76!' I want to be the only one to turn my head!

I know this is a bit of an incoherent rant(trade-marked and patents of the one and only 76) so I'll put it simply:

I'm tired of telling people that I'm not isudae.

Do it.

Even if changing names is confusing, the forums I frequent, just place: 'Used to be "insertnamehere"' in their signature.

Anyways, I think having a number as a name is both unique and awesome.

Do it.

Actually to be able to change your sig now and then if you want, you could always put "used to be...." In your title just under your name. People here seem to not want a name change because we would have heard more than one request. If it's just one or two people, it shouldn't be a problem as long as they make it clear.
