I don't know nearly enough about this sort of stuff to say if it is possible. However, in the meantime, just make a double-post anyway. Maybe include a little OOC note apologizing for the double-post and try not to make a habit out of it.
Or you can post in the OOC saying that you edited your post. But I know that I have double-posted before and it's no big deal. EDIT: Oh yeah. The other trick is to include a big shiny edit sign so that it might catch their attention while they're scrolling down the page.

well yes, but it doesn't show if you just glance at the thread. I would not normally look at a thread that I have already seen and read if nothing new showed up. The small note is in the bottom of the actual post at least of me. I don't know about mods.
