Default Over 18s Forum.

It is possible to make an over 18s forum that only people that are Adult can talk in? This is because I think that some topics are not suitable for minors to see. We could have a password protected forum for over 18s for topics like this.

Wulfie, the rules already state what's fine and what isn't, if this is about A&D's thread with the multitudes of swearing... No. Just no. Swearing is absolutely fine, if you look through the RP's you'll find plenty of it.

If you believe swearing is wrong for the young ones to see, then that's fine, but the fact is, in today's society, the kids swear in normal conversation a good once every minute.

Mahz created this forum with the intent of it being a PG-13 place that's family friendly, I don't think it's going to change any time soon.

~This post was meant to contain no offense at all, if you find this offensive in any way, it's your own problem, thank you for reading.~

I don't find it offensive.. I guess I'm just not used to the young ones using such bad language..

Come to australia then mate, I've heard Australian english described like this:

2 parts english
2 parts slang
1 part swearing

for the most part down here thats accurate and half the time the slang uses words that others would consider swearing that we don't (bloody, bastard, cunt etc. its just common speech here)

Oh, believe me, if you come over here to Aussie-land and listen to a conversation, we swear... a lot.

The youth of today in general, in fact, swears a lot, best to get used to it while you can.

((Yeah, exactly what Gat said, if you want, I'll write up a conversation I had with a mate the other day...))

Pretty much. If the site's stated as being PG-13 overall, that kind of goes with the territory. And considering I'd probably be one of those young ones, swearing is a fairly regular part of most conversations among peers and the like.

Cut it down? Whoa, that's like asking NASA to build a house or do a concreting job - There's a bloody high doubt it's going to happen... Ever.

The reason why they are swearing is because they are allowed to.

Swearing is a part of how people talk. It's not as if I add 'fuck' to every other word I say for the sake of saying it-it's just as much a part of expression as any other word, and purveys a very specific vibe, albeit not a positive one. I'm not going so far as to say that everyone who swears does so as a means of expression via the English language, but I think that restricting it for the sake of an audience that the rating system already precludes is a bit prudish, really.
