Default Post counts not high up when posting in Off-topic

Well, I'm throwing this up, partly because I sometimes see some threads that a purely made of freshly tinned spam. And some post people make (no, I'm not calling out any names, I want to stay neutral here) Are looking like they just post in the thread to get their post count higher instead of adding something of actual value.

Just a thought, Don't shoot me.

*stabs Kenyi* At least I didn't shoot you.

I agree with you though, it does seem like some people do that.

gogo welcome channel cookies imo.
But that's part of the fun of some of the stupid things...
That, and during the wee hours of 11pm at night and 8am in the morning spam is far more appealing for keeping insomniacs entertained instead of staring at the refrigerator and waiting for it to talk to you again after 7 days of not sleeping...

The introductions are basically just spam and that's probably all they ever really will be. I don't have a problem with that though.

I agree that there is a lot of spam here, and I am not a fan of spam.

While it's annoying, though, it isn't hurting anyone.

If the peak of entertainment for some people is mass-posting on a forum, then let them enjoy themselves.

@ Ultimate

My intro-board posts have lots of relevant advice!

Lancrist hit the nail on the head.

There is spam, yes - but if it's not hurting you then ignore it. If there is spam that crops into your thread then talk to the player, see if they will delete their own posts, if not PM a mod and we will.

Spam crops up in OOC's, Off-topic and Introductions primarily, and that's fine. The place spam is a real problem is in RPs.

Introductions are good as they are, even though they do convert to spam, because new players know immediately "HEY! I can post there" and usually in that post they learn about how the guild works, because the layout of the guild is very different from many RP sites out there.

In OOC's it becomes a problem if they are using it instead of getting each other's MSN contacts. They aren't a place to have chatty conversations, but a place to discuss the RP of interest.

Off-topic, this is designed for spam - which is why post counts don't increase here. If they did then we would be encourage spam.

Hope that helps,
Candi
