Default The PM limit

Right. So I'm running an Rp, and I decide to PM all of the people in it for feedback on what they think. Half an hour later, I've managed to send the last of the messages.
Firstly, it would've been much easier to send it to all of them at once rather than copying and pasting the same message five times.
Secondly, it would've been much easier to do them one after the other rather than having to wait so darn long in between.

I understand the troubles with PM spamming. I understand why you should only be allowed to send PM's to one person at a time. I understand the idea of a limit. But five full minutes; especially on a forum where secret RP business such as plot lines involving only a small part of the group may need to be conducted through PM, is just senseless.

One minute, good. Two minutes, okay. Three, pushing it. Five is right out. I like the three post rule before PMing, but once someone's been around the RPs for a while it's pretty obvious that they aren't going to start spamming like an idiot. Besides, there are people here with 1000 + posts who've been here for more than six months. Why are they still limited?

I'm not asking for it to be removed, just lowered. After all, once a PM spammer has been recognised, all you need to do is wave El Bansticko and Ding Ding Ding, problem solved!

Alternatively, you could make it so the limit vanishes after you make a certain amount of posts, or make it so that you can only make say... three PMs every five minutes, or something of that sort?

Of course, for all I know none of these options are possible using the Admin CP, but hey, for all I know they are. Either way, consider what I've said. It's reeeeeeeally annoying when you have to wait half an hour to send PMs that won't get replied to until the next morning anyway.

i agree, just chatting with your friends on the pm takes a while. you half to wait five minutes to send it to them, and 5 minutes to get a message, (maybe more depending on how many people they're talking to). thats almost 10 minutes for 1 question and an answer.

I would like to note that if you REALLY want to talk to people that fast, you should grab their Instant Messenger address and talk to them there, it's faster and less of a hassle than waiting for five minutes.

I'd also like to note that after the PM spamming incident the admins are being rather cautious about such things.

Though the ability to send PMs to multiple people at once would be nice, perhaps a limit of three - five or such, it would help quite a lot while still confining spammers.

Yes. Instant messenger is fine, although a small problem tends to arise when you use different forms of it or one of you doesn't have it. Sure, it's great if it works, but it isn't guaranteed to.

And sending PMs to multiple people would make it much easier to PM spam than to have a lowered limit. One person every two minutes or five people every five minutes. Difficult decisions...

All I know is, I'd like SOME degree of leniency, either by amount of people or amount of wait time.

That's from days ago, and the limit has been unaltered. Has he forgotten, or is he busy with other matters?

As far as I know he's still doing school/curricular activities (if I remember correctly). He'll probably be done soon, though. ^^

You may send your message to up to 5 people at a time.
Separate multiple user names with ';'

Note that is right under the sn you are sending the message to in pm IT clearly states you can already do this up to FIVE people.

Hahaha, that was good.

Anyways, as for the updates just be patient. For how long, i'm not too sure, i've been waiting for the chat box to be developed for 8-9 months now.

It'll be done when it's done. We've received your suggestion and we will do something about it, even if its just another stuff to place on Mahz's shoulders
