Well i'm glad you feel that way and i hope this puts everything into perspective for members all across the site not to feel intimidated or to feel out of place, and that having fun is the order of the day here, not snobbery.

I agree with you completely. In my opinion just because a post is short doesn't mean it's bad, no if it's well written. Also sometimes writing a three paragraph post when there is really nothing too talk about at that point in time, is just taking up space.(Well not really, but you now whhat I mean.)

just make sure you don't get too snobbish about your anti-snobberyism... No its not a word, but it should be.

It becomes a different matter when people start publicly voicing their opinion as if it's the law. If people only want members of a certain calibre in their threads then they should ask people to PM bio's and an introduction posts, or post them in the OOC section for the thread, that i've got nothing against at all and people do that all the time here, myself included.

Still, i don't think it's possible to be snobby about "anti-snobberyism", but either way, i think i'm well within my rights to say the things i have said here. There is a big difference between encouraging diversity in roleplaying and trying to point out how inadequate other members are.

What makes a great rper is not that he makes a beautiful post, it's how he helps others along by not telling their way is wrong, but to take what he can get and work with it.

I know I am a newish member here, but I have experience on a few other sites of RPing and found that what I believe makes an RP great is when everyone has fun, they display their passion in the text and the characters deviat from the social norms of real life.

Well, If you would look up in magic Academy, my posts were sucky in the beginning too (lol Zacharan). But with help from others (and a good dose of 'must...post...better...') it eventually will get better. Yeah, and of course you have those people who think they will be better with higher post counts, But that's not even nearly true (ok, My goal from the beginning it to outnumber Asbestos for the lulz, but alas, That <insert minor swearword here> still has a bigger post count)

That's all I wanted to say, Instead of complaining about it, Do something about it Help others out...

Well if you're not being snobby about it, you're at least being smug. Probably closing your eyes when you wrote that last post huh? No, not really at all I'm joking. But it is possible. If I wanted to be snobby about my anti-snobberyism, here is how I would go about it:

"Its completely uncalled for for you to tell people how they should write their posts in roleplays. I would never do anything like that because I'm a better person than you. You're the one killing threads, not the people with crappy posts. You're opinion is wrong and uncalled for, you should never post it online again."

Obviously exaggerated, but you can see how its possible right?

Look it's all fine and dandy trying to twist my words, but i am trusted to uphold the peace on this forum just like every other moderator. If you feel i have gone too far, then by all means write up a complaint to the Admins: either Mahzkreig, Blackfire or LordLynxx, explaining what you feel is wrong.

But the fact remains: Julian_Rose's post was practically alienating an entire "member base" of this site and i think THAT is a far greater crime than how i worded what others couldn't or, in some cases, wouldn't say.

I will not stand by and let members plough over the works of others who are here purely for entertainment, simply because in their view they're not good enough. And if that mind set makes me a bad moderator, then so be it, complain and lets see how the highest echelons of this site see my actions.

Thread closed.
