We already have this tho it may not get updated so quick. Let me elaborate.
Go to on topic disscussion, There you will find three threads labeled roleplay directory in which rps are seperated into catagories like you spoke of earlier. Unfoutunatly it has not ben updated in a long time.

ALso, we used to have the forums separated into genre's but it was discovered that there are just so many and a better way to arrange things is by skill level. Because when most people look for an RP you want to RP with people that play at your level, be it one liners or epic three paragraph posts.
The current arrangement of forums allows for you to quickly match up with those who correspond to your desired level of play, and if you want something in a certain genre you can browse to find one or just make it! ![]() |

NOt to mention that some roleplays might not have a specific genre. There are many bending between sci-fi and fantasy, and genres like mystery or romance could fit into any of the other genres seamlessly.
This system we have right now gets people matched up with people at their level without having to confine them into a specific genre. Perosnally I would like to see something like this: Beginners (newbs that can't write a coherent sentence or plotline) Writers (players that are aspiring authors that roleplay to brush up their skills, and would focus on thought-provoking and deep plotlines and character development.) Gamers (players that roleplay as a form of escape or to weave characters within a world to reinact their fantasies, focusing on having fun and interacting with one another to develop characters.) Mixed (Because I hate segration, but we have snobs, text whores, and newbs, so it can't be helped, but if a writer and a gamer what to get together to pen up a roleplay they should.) I don't see this happening in the near future, though, and the system we for have is better, though it does promote snobbery and general newb hate. However, having it segregated into different genres limits on creativity. P.S: Commerce? What kind of genre is that? |
