My best is, 'did we really just kill a lich with a giant boat?'

Ah my favorite subject. ![]() I suppose a favored quote by one of my characters would have to be from my elf archer (cliche, I know) boldly declaring his prowess to a Paladin. "I'm going to say my best shot would be hitting a target who was in a full sprint away from me, in 90% cover, about 170 yards away from me. I hit that target in the leg, killed her instantly." As he whispers to the thief afterwards "You tell the Paladin my target was a little girl and I felt no remorse for doing so... and I swear I'll kill you."

I've only played D&D 3.5, but I play every week. My favorite character has to to be my LN fighter with dual wielding bastard swords and great follower of St.-Cuthbert.

I'm a major D&D Player. I started about 4 years ago with 3.5, and have now moved on to 4.0 and am loving every minute of it. For those of you who haven't tried out 4.0 yet, I highly recommend it. The rules have been simplified but still maintain a level of complexity you'd expect from D&D (especially if you played 3.5), everything is a lot more fair and balanced (unbalance and power-gaming was the thing I disliked most about 3.5), and I have to say, D&D Insider and all the features they plan on offering are very promising. When it's released, those players who are willing to spend a little money--about as much as an MMO monthly cost--will have access to the full set of PDF 4.0 books, the Dungeon Builder, the character Model Maker, the different e-zines, as well as the Virtual Tabletop, so those of you who don't have anyone to play with can find a game on it. To keep the parallelism of the short blurbs everyone's giving about some of their experiences (this is from 3.5): I once played a 12th level Elf Ghost Wizard in a campaign where were working to find the ancient Cow Ships for the race of Space Cows so they could stop the invasion of Insect people on their home world, which we were lead to believe was a moon.
