Niki heard the explosion. It was much louder then she had anticipated, a flashbang. Damn! She recoiled on the floor clutching her ears in surprise. Fortunately she recovered quickly and glanced up over the car. Just in time to notice the doctor was recovered also, in fact he was now standing atop the counter leveling the shotgun at her. Damn! He had spotted her. At least he most likely couldn't hear anymore. Thinking quickly Niki dropped down flat and dove out for the table area. She pushed off with both feet from against the sports car while simultaneously grabbing the gun basket and scapal. Two blasts from the shotgun exploded against the car where she had just been. One of them caught her left foot as she went by. Just barely, she could still walk but most likely she couldn't run or preform acrobatics without much pain. At least for the remainder of this fight.

Niki was pleased to find that there was a cowering man under the table she had aimed for, one of the ones with booth's facing. She had thought that the customers had long since fled. Niki put him out of his miser much to the protest of the screams. Using the scalpel she dug it into the spinal cord located at the back of the man's neck. He fell silently after that, instantly dead. Now under neath the table much to her approval because it provided excellent cover. Niki glanced over the booth parallel to the counter at the doctor. Niki had a great angle. That's the thing about high ground. You have a good vantage point but you are open and vulnerable, with no cover. Niki pointed the pistol at the doctor and let loose two individual bullets at the man's chest. The small semi-automatic pistol was perfect for such a job. Close quarters with lots of cover. Niki watched vigilantly to see the doctor's next move. With no hearing she would have to rely on other senses to finish this fight.

The ringing in his ears continues to linger for the duration of the woman's slide across the floor narrowly escaping death by buckshot. She slides under a table killing the man with Sylus's scalpel and immediately turning and firing two shots. At the sight of her turning, pistol in hand and ready to fire, Sylus leans to his right and falls. The two shots whiz by, Doctor Feelgood's black hair ruffling in the bullets' wake.

Sylus falls hard onto his right side, amidst the thousands of tiny shards of glass. Several pierce through his mint green scrubs as he aims the shotgun underneath the car and directly at the woman. She has little room to move as she has trapped herself under the table that she mistakenly thought would protect her. The table provides no cover from this angle and it would be miraculous if she even saw it coming from beneath the small gap under the car. With her crouching under a table, the two shots would rip apart her legs and midsection, leaving her unable to walk at the very least.

Smoke fills the undercarriage with the thick haze produced from the two blast and no ventilation. He immediately drops the expended shotty while planting his back to the floor. He flips his legs up and over his head in a reverse somesault style move and pushes himself the rest of the way with his hands pushing against the tiny shards of glass.

A few cuts, but nothing to worry about. The worry now is that if she is still alive, he nolonger has a gun, or does he. There at his feet lying in a bloodied heap of twisted flesh and bone is the second gunman. His insides ripped apart and a spent flash bang sticking out from his belly. A few inches away from his hand is the man's weapon, a Glock 17. He releases the box magazine and checks the ammo before sliding the magazine back into the handle. He pulls the slide back, hearing the all to familiar click and pulls a scalpel from his pocket. In typical fashion he pops the plastic cover off with his thumb as he pops up around the rear of the car dashing at his opponent.

His thigh sends messages to his brain that the pain is becoming more and more intense, and he tries his best to ignore those messages and continue forward. He locates her position and begins firing. One. Two. Three. Four shots as he runs in, scalpel at the ready. It's time to give the woman a much needed face lift.

Niki watched her bullets sail through the air towards the doctor. At the last second, it seemed, he purposely fell sideways off the edge of the counter. Niki tracked his movements all the way down to the floor right below her car. Realizing his plan just in time Niki whips up the limp body of the man she had just killed. The body was still warm to her touch blood dripped from the man trachea. The two rounds blasted from the barrel of the shotgun and impacted the form of the man in the chest. Niki was unscathed and she had already recovered. Working now she tore a strip of cloth from the man's shirt and bound it around her midsection to stop the bleeding from the scalpel wound. The small knife had caused much more bleeding than she expected. Successfully stopping the blood flow, Niki emerged from beneath the table. She held the dead body in front of her as a shield as she backed out towards the side of the restaurant opposite the kitchen. He gun was in her left hand and the man in her right along with the fry basket which she clutched behind him.

Suddenly the Doctor burst from behind the back end of the car. He had a new weapon, a pistol. Four bullets sprung from its barrel. Two of them whizzed past Niki and hit the windows behind her. The other two impacted the meatshield she held in front of her. The body was now severely mutilated and damaged beyond recognition. Niki returned fire at the speeding man. She fired twice only. Seeing it as a good thing to conserve ammunition. Niki dropped the body revealing the fry basket. She backed away leaving the doctor to deal with the two bullets speeding at his chest. What was he thinking. She could reach further than the scalpel with the steel basket than he could with the small knife.

Niki had an idea. She popped the lighter, which she had acquired earlier, out of her pocket and lit it up. She held it to the mesh of the metal fry basket until the now dry and crusted oil caught. Instantly the fire spread across the metal consuming the makeshift weapon and making it all the more dangerous. The flames wouldn't last too long but maybe they were the boost she needed to finish the man off. Brandishing the new menace Niki stepped forward fully ready to contend with whatever the doctor pulled out of his sleeve next.

Sylus continues runnig forward, he ducks forward and right to avoid two shots whistling fromt he woman's gun. She drops the meatshield, and proceeds to light the backet on fire, which is held firmly in her hand. His mask continues to bow out and cave in with his ever increasing breaths. The glock in his right hand failed to hit anything but a dummy and glass. The window survives with two holes dead center, the cracks expanding out from there but never shattering.

The sound of Sylus's bare feet slap against the tile, the calloussed feet receives little damage from the glass around the car as he escapes the mine field of glass. The fleshy front of his foot is bleeding and the peices of glass are only pushed deeper with each step. Sylus is running on adrenaline which prevents him from feeling this tiny bit of pain for now. His heartrate has double since his first bite of the double whopper with cheese and jalapenos.

Still aiming at the girl he fires three quick shots at the hand holding her gun and another three at her chest. The next squeeze of the trigger yields a click and the slide coming back all the way and locking into place. He raises his right hand quickly in a jerking motion as he releases the clip, sending the magazine forward like a half assed missile. This is only meant as a distraction as the magazine will hurt the woman but not cause any serious damage.

Now in melee range Dr. Feelgood stops his legs from moving, and sliding into Niki. He retrieves another scalpel from his pocket with his right hand and removes the cap. He attempts to shove the scalpel in his right hand into the barrel of her gun, if successful bring his other number 10 blade into her cheek.

Wow, 14 posts and still no judge? Very well then- as apprehensive as I am about this, I shall take it upon myself to judge this battle. This first rundown will probably be fairly concise, given the sheer number of posts to judge:

Sixshot:
Post 1-
+5: very good, descriptive kills. The line about connecting the two kidneys gave me the willies.
+2: good decision making capabilities- when in doubt regarding weapons, go with "all of the above"!
+1: the "it was just meant to be" line amused me. Good job.
Post 2-
+4: cooking oil grenade FTW!
Post 3-
+1: "butter face". Ha!
+1: Random, accidental deaths always have a place in GFFNR
Post 4-
+1: the calm, slightly confused reaction to the french fries produced some amusing mental images
+1: I liked the "scalpel > shotgun" philosophy
+2: very nice unorthodox use of the shotgun to stop the bleeding
Post 5-
+2: I don't know anything about how flashbangs work, and if you had gone on as if they didn't make a significant enough sound to deafen your character, I would have unquestioningly accepted it. Points for good sportsmanship.
Post 6-
+2: Excellent way of countering her strategic positioning
+1: Good job using your NPCs to the fullest, and having the second gunman serve a purpose
Post 7:
+1: Good imagery regarding the glass
+1: Creative use of the empty clip
+1 for bravery- it takes guts to engage in melee combat with the opponent wielding a flaming fry basket of death

007shadow2:
Post 1-
+4: Now that's an entrance!
Post 2-
+3: Nothing like some fancy acrobatics to add to the chaos of a GFFNR
Post 3-
+1: The french fries made me chuckle
+1: good weapon improvisation with the basket
Post 4-
+2: smart tactic in knocking the grenade back.
Post 5-
+1: nice use of the slickness caused by the grease (at least, I'm assuming that's now you managed to slide to the table)
+1: good strategy in trying to find an advantageous position
Post 6-
+4: the meatshield was brilliant- I had already forgotten about the dead guy, and was wondering how you were going to get out of that situation alive.
+2: flaming fry basket of death! Probably would have been worth more points if you had done more with it than just brandish it and move forward.

Okay, that should be everything, and the score currently stands at...

Sixshot: 26
007shadow2: 19

And with that, let the nonsensical violence reconvene!

Niki watched the man shoot once more. In absence of her shield, Niki had no choice but to dive down. She gracefully slid down backwards onto the floor. Six bullets zoomed over her head as she watched looking upward at each. After hearing the faint click telling her the Glock's magazine was empty and that the mindless fire was over. She swung upwards only to be met by the magazine itself. The metal case bounced off her left shoulder and hit the floor with a bang. It would only leave a bruise. The crazed doctor was now in range to use his scalpels. Not a problem. Niki watched his movements carefully determining his next move. First the man swung at her gun. A desperate move. Niki didn't attempt to dodge, instead she jerked her gun to her right at the last second. The scalpel sunk into her forearm missing the bone by inches. Nope that didn't hurt a bit.

Niki grasped the fry basket in her right hand tightly. She swung it in a downwards arc aiming for the man's crotch area. A flaming metal basket impacting your crotch, that's going to hurt. At the same time she pulled her right arm back and pointed the pistol directly the doctor's chest. Niki pulled the trigger four times, releasing four of the nine remaining bullets. Simultaneously Niki brought her right leg up in a spinning kick aimed for the Doctor's right side. The man had another knife but it wasn't likely he would be able to use it faced with such a barrage. Maybe afterwards he would have the smarts to drop it and admit defeat.

Sylus is shocked for the first time when his scalpel slices through flesh and into the woman's forearm, which has a lot more hair than the usual female. Is she transgender? Sylus lets the thought flutter away and the scalpel is pulled from her arm, gushing blood and revealing to the doctor a useful bit of info. The blood is most likely coming from the brachial artery which runs down the forearm along side the median nerve. This nerve innervates the muscles of the anterior compartment of the forearm, if it had been severed, there would be an extreme loss of feeling in the afflicted arm. Her lack of feeling and the increase in blood is a sure sign that this nerve had been struck, if not completely severed, it is certainly damaged enough to significantly reduce her use of said arm and remove all feeling in the anterior aspect of the arm. This theory is brought to realization as she begins swinging her weapons, not feeling the pain.

The flaming basket screams in a poping arc towards the Doctor's genitals. Like every man he responds instinctively to protect them, despite putting other body parts in harms way. He twists his body to the left, moving his right thigh inward to block the ball busting basket of fire. It strikes his thigh mere inches from the location of the bullet still lodged in his flesh. Underneath his mask his teeth grind in pain as the gun in her right hand comes speeding across his chest. The damage to her forearm has clearly caused more damage than she knows as the gun swings slowly in front of him. The momentum countered by an incoming spin kick. Poor girl is trying to do to much at once and it only has the opposite effect. Had he not been turning in that direction or had she not attempted to kick him, a bullet or two would have caught him straight in the heart, instead four slugs scream past him and find themselves in the chest of another fleeing customer. The fat man who was trying to run falls face down in front of the door, his greasy hand sliding down the glass as blood drips to the floor.

The kick however finds its mark in the ribs of the doctor. Sylus grunts as his body bends to the right and forces him back to his original position. His right arm curls under her leg, pressing it between his bicep and forearm. Her spin kick makes her vulnerable as her back is now to the good doctor and her right leg is caught in his grip. The scalpel speeds to her flesh attempting to sever the achilles tendon. With her shooting arm nearly useless and void of feeling even if she avoids the crippling of her right leg her spine will quickly meet with surgical grade steel.

Niki's strike with the flaming fry basket lands a hit on the thigh causing second degree burns as well as melting the doctors scrubs to his skin. This would normally cause much pain now as well as later. She also landed the kick which may or may not have broken a rib. But Niki wasn't thinking about this because the man had grabbed a hold of her leg. Niki laughs. The poor doctor cannot contend. He must try and maim her. Instead of going for the kill the weak man went for her outstretched leg. Unfortunately his strategy is bogus and puts him in a very vulnerable position. With his hands occupied like this Niki can easily put a few bullets through him. Her gun was already oriented the right way from her previous assault. She was fully ready to accept the scalpel to the calf in exchange for the doctor's life. Pointing the gun at the vulnerable doctor she squeezed the trigger twice. Two of the remaining five bullets shot strait for the man chest.

The blade in his left hand slices down through the flesh behind her ankle. The achilles is the largest and strongest tendon in the body, and when it is severed a loud pop echoes through the restaurant instantly inflicting an immense amount of pain, similar to that of a hammer slamming into the ankle.. Sylus steps closer, his right arm now gripping her leg at the knee and moves his left hand scalpel towards the back. The bloody blade coming from a lowered position, aiming up under the ribs and intending to puncture a lung. He begins to move his right hand forward in a similar motion to bring the scalpel in his right hand up towards her right lung. He quesses that atleast 2 ribs are broken with possibly 2 more bruised, but if she drops her leg to the ground the disconnected calf and heel will provide her no stability as a severed achilles cannot be walked on until healed.

She struggles through the pain to raise her gun, still barely able to squeeze the trigger and each movement of the muscles in her forearm rushes more blood from the wound and onto the tile floor below them. Two bullets rip through the doctor's right shoulder, turning his body slightly as his left arm jolts forward with increased speed and his right arm slows its advance. The first bullet enters through the deltoid muscles and rips through the back, and into the wall behind him. The second bullet enters the trapezius muscle and again continues straight through toward the wall. The two wounds so close together begin bleeding profusely as the small holes nearly reveal the inner workings of the doctor. His white mask puffs harder as the pain reaches his brain and both his heart and respiratory rate increase. Dr. Sylus is beginning to plan something extra for when she dies.

And, I'm back! Let's get this wrapped up-

007shadow2 post 7:
+2: Flaming basket to the crotch- that'll hurt!
+2: Trying to overwhelm your opponent by firing at them while doing a spinning kick, while not all that realistic, would look pretty damn cool
-1: Maybe it's just me, but it seems like you've been shrugging off damage a bit too much lately. Granted, you're still willing to take hits, and you've been pretty good about it up until just recently, so the deduction will be minimal.

sixshot post 8:
+3: Yay, science! In the midst of all of the mindless violence of GFFNR, it was surprisingly nice to see all of the precision and calculation behind your character's move.
-1: On the other hand, it may have gotten a little too wordy, so I'm decreasing the bonus.
+1: Trying to sever the achilles is a real jerk thing to do. Good job!

007shadow2 post 8:
+2: Not the most detailed or theatrical of moves, but good job in seeing an easy shot and taking it.

sixshot post 9:
-1: I know I just said that I like all of the scientific explanation, but it's getting to be a bit much. I realize that you need to explain the effects of your moves, but try to be more concise- it shouldn't take that many words to explain that leg won't support her anymore.
And finally, another +2 for imagery- great job describing what a beating your character's taking.

Given that it's been three days since the last post, I'm going to call the battle- sixshot, write up your execution post!

Not-quite-final score:
sixshot: 30
007shadow2: 24
