NEW FORUM SETUP
The new In-Character Roleplaying forums have been revised. What used to be: - Beginners RP - Fantasy RP - Sci-Fi/Modern RP - Arena RP Is now: - Beginners RP - Casual RP - Advanced RP Beginners RP is practically unmoderated. Anything goes. One-liners are allowed here. Come here if you are new to roleplaying, need to practice, or want to experiment. Casual RP is loosely moderated and has basic standards. You can't post one-liners and you must be coherent and intelligent in your roleplaying. As long as you are reasonable and use common sense, you won't be bumped down to Beginners RP. Casual RP Rules and Standards. Advanced RP is heavily moderated and has high standards. You must be a good roleplayer, very coherent, and able to write a few paragraphs per post. Length matters because you must be capable of developing your character, react and interact with other players, react and interact with the plot, and be a real proponent to the thread. Advanced RP Rules and Standards. To give you an idea of threads that really fit the Advanced RP standard: - Sorcerers Academy (RPGuild's BEST THREAD. Check it out.) - Fistfight 1v1 (Epic combat thread.) - F.T.P.N.S - Morlat Death-March - Selthpach Woodsmen Moving on, it was a LONG process moving threads to their new RP forums. I basically moved all the Fantasy/SciFi/Arena threads to one limbo forum, made the Casual and Advanced forums, then moved the threads from the limbo forum to where I thought they fit. I really only glanced at the post length. If posts were really short, they went to casual. If there were more developed, they went to Advanced. I'm not going to be moving them again. However, I WILL move your OOC thread if it didn't end up in the right place. Just PM me. If your thread was in Fantasy/SciFi/Arena BEFORE the update, check Casual RP. Most threads got moved there. Remember that neither Casual RP and Advanced RP are better than the other. Each just appeals to different people. Some people want in-depth, developed roleplay (Advanced RP) while others don't really need to go into such detail (Casual RP). Don't be offended if your thread is moved. You just fit the other standard better. However, if you desperately want your thread moved, PM me and I will consider it. Bear in mind that Casual and Advanced RP have much different audiences. If your thread is cut out for Casual RP and it's in Advanced RP, it is more likely to flop (and the other way around). That is why we will move your thread. Consider the next week or two the testing phase of Casual and Advanced RP. There is no genre distinction anymore (i.e. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Arena). You may want to post the genre in your thread title: example: "[Fantasy] The Blackwater Siege" Casual RP is lightly moderated. If you are CLEARLY a Beginner (common sense), you will be moved to Beginners RP. Advanced RP is heavily moderated. If you don't fit in, you will be moved to Casual or Beginners RP. It's pretty sensible. You know your own ability. Look at the sample Advanced RP threads I posted. If you don't see yourself fitting in, then you're probably a Casual RPer. I'm pretty excited to see what comes of this change and what changes will be made because of it. Next Update: Recruiting Moderators If you are interested in becoming a moderator, do not PM me. I will PM you. I already have an idea of who meets my standards. I will also be working on a new color theme to throw up for your selection. PM me with observations, opinions, suggestions. I like to hear them. ![]() PM me with any problems you see from the Casual RP / Advanced RP update. PM me if you'd like me to move your OOC thread to the right subforum so it matches up wit your IC thread. There are always problems after updates. It's 8:30 am right now and I've had no sleep. I'm in zombie mode and even typing is a challenge. I'm finally going to bed so I won't be able to respond to PM's for a few (hopefully a lot more :P) hours. |
