Default RpG AP Special Report

Special Report

Hello and welcome to a special edition of the RpG Associated Press report. Today is April 1, 2008. Happy April Fool's Day by the way!

Signature Violation Overload

Today's special report is over the massive overload of oversized and frankly rule-violating signatures that seem to be roaming the forums and dwelling at the bottom of members' posts. Now, the signature tool is a great and awesome tool to use to personalize your posts and profiles, however they must abide by the board rules. The author of this article recently received a suggestion (and part complaint/heads-up notification) that the signatures on this board are becoming a problem. The large signature ratio needs to be taken care of and many members are in violation of the ratio that has been set up since the beginning of time.

This is a BBC formatted quote from the Signature Permissions Update that Mahz created on 9-4-07:

The [IMG] tag and HTML are now enabled in signatures per Heather Mason's suggestion.

Keep the pictures within reason and if they get too big you will be personally asked to resize them and if they are inappropriate, your signature may be disabled. - Just be mature.

In your signature, wide pictures are alright, but when they get too tall, they become particularly annoying and disrupt the flow of a thread.

1) Here is the current maximum height we allow:

2) Only one signature picture is allowed.
Also, there is a large problem of advertisement for off-site locations posted in the signatures. This advertisement must end immediately. Signatures will be edited by mods if you refuse to change them. Also, you will put yourself in the line of fire if you continue to violate signature policy.

Several members will be (and have been) asked to change and update their signatures to have them meet the proper criteria. If you know your signature is in violation of policy and you haven't been asked yet by a moderator to change it, then you best do it now. It's better to be honest than to be caught red-handed...duh. If the problem is not fixed soon, then as Mahz said in the above quote, the function will be disabled and those of you who had cool and fair sigs can blame your immature friends for it.

Thank you for reading this RpG AP Special Report. Stay tuned! Happy April Fool's Day! (NO THIS IS NOT AN APRIL FOOLS JOKE!!!)
