The second issue of the RpG Associated Press! Enjoy!
Domestic - RpG Related Suggestions Overflowing the Work Schedule There has been a recent mass build-up of suggestions and complaints by many of out members that seem to have created an over-flow for the mods and Mahz to keep up with. As most of know by now, the author of this article and the admin of the Guild have been absent this past week for Spring Break; and upon out return what do we find? A crammed suggestion box! I don't know if I'll ever find the time to even go through the OTD forum and moderate the spam that I know has built up inside. Although all of the suggestions brought forth have been good and even outstanding in some areas, the truth is this: we're only human! Mahz is trying his best to make these dreams become reality, but it will only worsen when more suggestions come in and continue to over-flow the box. Advanced Forum Comes Back to Life The Advanced Forum for those highly advanced and complicated roleplays is now back up and running like never before. It used to be slow and pointless, but now, more roleplays have come to it and members are finding it a lot easier to post now that they've become used to the standards and expectations. Writing a lot only comes through good practice and a lot of patience. Most of the time, those who are used to roleplaying on a casual standard find it difficult and almost aggrivating when trying out in the Advanced section. However, this is because they are simply stepping outside of their 'shell' and have yet to get used to the up-beat roleplay of this type of forum. But anyways, the forum is alive again and now that more roleplays of different genres have entered it, more of the RpG members are flocking over and enjoying themselves. Foreign - Offsite Related Iraq War Death-Toll Reaches 4,000 BAGHDAD (AP) -- The overall U.S. death toll in Iraq rose to 4,000 after four soldiers were killed in a roadside bombing in Baghdad, a grim milestone that is likely to fuel calls for the withdrawal of American forces as the war enters its sixth year. The American deaths occurred Sunday, the same day rockets and mortars pounded the U.S.-protected Green Zone in Baghdad and a wave of attacks left at least 61 Iraqis dead nationwide. An Iraqi military spokesman said Monday that troops had found rocket launching pads in different areas in predominantly Shiite eastern Baghdad that had been used by extremists to fire on the Green Zone, which houses the U.S. Embassy and the Iraqi government headquarters. (RpG AP) -- It appeares that the war in Iraq is still looking grim even though much success has been made in the last six years of fighting. The world media normally reports the bad sides of everything. But I'm here to report to you both sides of the issue. It seems to me that there is a huge gap between what the majority of Americans ‘think’ is happening in Iraq and what the situation there is really like. Right now, our forces are holding off complete anarchy in Iraq and if we do pull our forces out the entire country will erupt into all-out civil war. The position held by the majority of congressional Democrats is that the reasons given for invading Iraq were unfounded but arguing those points is completely irrelevant given the current situation. The problem is that we’re looking at continued reports of American deaths in Iraq for the foreseeable future unless the military forces of the Iraqi government can figure things out. Unfortunately, that government is in its infancy and still pervaded by racial and religious prejudices from its own members and constituencies. It carries almost no clout and so we are in a position where we’ve created something of a monster and it’s on us to see it through to a conclusion.
