 RpG .:  :.Issue #12 6-3-08 Enjoy! Domestic - RpG Related The Guild Reaches a New Number If I may bounce Tsardel's announcement earlier, we have now reached 1,500 users. In fact, the number I'm currently looking at when typing this up is 1,545. Which means that we gained 45 more members since we reached that incredible milestone! At this rate roleplayerguild.com will be one of the most recognized roleplaying forums out there. We're moving up in rank and the influx of new members has drastically increased since the start only a year ago. Our big birthday is just around the corner! So, what are we going to do on our special day? ...It's a secret... Statement About the "We Are Egos...Nothing More" Thread I would like to apologize to anyone who found my article offending or considered the previous AP Special Report as an announcement of said article unfair. It was not my intention (nor is it ever my intention) to use the AP as a means of advertising for my own works or randomly drawn out theories. At that inparticular point in time, it became evident that a few (not just one or two) of the members on this site needed some explanation of how things really are in cyberspace. The names mentioned in the article were used as examples of what I was speaking about. I wasn't really calling them non-human. If you took offense to this in any way, I am deeply sorry and hope you can forgive me. PW Associated Press Launches Persistent World has recently gained the PW AP, a new branch of the RpG AP that strictly focuses on happenings in the Persistent World forums. Examples of these happenings are timeline, criminal activity, police report releases, interviews, and anything else that is deemed juicy intel. You can sign up for the PW AP whenever you wish. Just view the organization sub-forum and from there, click on the Associated Press thread. Articles for the PW AP will be released every Wednesday afternoon. New Release Dates for the RpG AP My activity will be altered now that the summer is approaching. I haven't got a schedule for some of you yet, as I had said I would do, but fear not; I'm still working that out. For now, article release dates will be moved up one day to Wednesday afternoon (same time as the PW AP). This article will cover this week. The new release date for the main AP articles will go into effect next week. Foreign - Offsite Related It Isn’t Magic: Putin Opponents Are Made to Vanish From TV MOSCOW — On a talk show last fall, a prominent political analyst named Mikhail G. Delyagin had some tart words about Vladimir V. Putin. When the program was later televised, Mr. Delyagin was not. Not only were his remarks cut — he was also digitally erased from the show, like a disgraced comrade airbrushed from an old Soviet photo. (The technicians may have worked a bit hastily, leaving his disembodied legs in one shot.) Mr. Delyagin, it turned out, has for some time resided on the so-called stop list, a roster of political opponents and other critics of the government who have been barred from TV news and political talk shows by the Kremlin. The stop list is, as Mr. Delyagin put it, “an excellent way to stifle dissent.” It is also a striking indication of how Mr. Putin has increasingly relied on the Kremlin-controlled TV networks to consolidate power, especially in recent elections. Opponents who were on TV a year or two ago all but vanished during the campaigns, as Mr. Putin won a parliamentary landslide for his party and then installed his protégé, Dmitri A. Editor's Commentary- This roleplay greatly intrigued me. The title brought me back to an old debate that I've had several times with others and even my own pastor. This thread even got me started on creating a discussion in the OTD and so far, I'm quite amazed to see such philosophical thinking on this site. This is definitely one of the most well set up roleplays that I've seen on this board. The Preface is absolutely captivating and the backstory has set up an adventure that sucked me in like a magnet on speed. I look forward to roleplaying in this particular story and hope that more do too. Hats off to the author - Brivta. Gladiators!! Fight for Freedom!!! eferhilda This thread is set in the very distant future and is about fantasy based creatures(i.e. vampires, werewolves, elves, fairies, dragons, etc) who have been captured and forced to fight for the amusement of the humans. Some escaped and became the rebel group who seeks to liberate the other slaves. The champion of champions tournament has begun and so the best fighters from this sector have been brought to fight for their master's honor and fame. The rebels are on high alert seeking to add new members to their ranks. The Things They Carried (A Pixar Cars RP) [Link unavailable] DoubleEdgeSword Ok, so basically (if you've seen the movie) the story/plotmap takes place several years later after what happened in the movie, and new generations are starting to appear (ex: Lightning McQueen and Sally may already have children by now) and the main characters are adapting to new changes within the town and province. New issues will arise, such as disasters, mysteries, adventure, and action from Ornament Valley to the racetracks. Of course, I will need some committed members to help make this Rp come alive. I've made things a bit more... shall we say, detailed in certain areas to let the player have a more realistic experience in this roleplay. *NEW* Here's An Idea for the Week! *NEW* Need to spice up that nearly dead roleplay of yours? I'm trying it out with Keeper to incorporate some fun music that the players can listen to while reading the posts. It will give an edge on the roleplay's environment and strengthen your roleplay's post frequency. The more fun you make your roleplay the more players you will attract. Just create a free account on playlist (e-mail required, but no activation required) and then select from a variety of free songs.
