"I knew skipping out of college was a bad idea..." Dave muttered, "I swear, the second I get enough pay checks, I'm out." He had only been working there for a week, and he hated it. It was like a pound... for people. And it smelled bad, and he was always afraid the food fed to the psychos might one day end up on his plate by accident, though what he got wasn't much better... he really needed to remember to bring his own food. He had been making his rounds when he heard one of the, he wasn't sure what exactly to call them, patients? Prisoners? Psychos? Well, he was sure some of them deserved to be call psychos, some of them were murderers after all. Regardless, one of them was having another freakout. He sighed, he wished they wouldn't do that, it always ended up the same way, a needle to the vein. He really hoped he would never have to do that... but he was sure the day would probably come soon if he didn't get out. Once the orderlies left, he decided to take a look through the tiny window in the door. Yep, the poor girl was completely dazed fromt he drugs. According to the clipboard on the wall, her name was Anna. He didn't bother reading the rest. "Oh come on... she's still bleeding..." He grumbled, "Morons..." He debated it, he wasn't technically supposed to go into the cells, not without somebody else, but she was all drugged up, right? And with that jacket she should be safe... He glanced around, and then quickly opened the door and stepped in. Pulling a small cloth from his pocket he kneeled down in front of her, "Err, don't bite me or anything, this won't hurt... well, maybe it'll sting a bit but..." He sighed and tried to wipe away the blood still trickling down her forehead.

Anna sat there her arms bound in the straight jacket the pain from them being held down so tight had long ago ebbed from pain into numbness until now in which she could barely feel them at all now. The blood from her forehead had dripped down into her bangs making them stick to her forehead and the bleeding continued on dripping into her eyes and down her face creeping ever closer to her mouth. She had been put on her knees and they began to cramp, the sedative made her unable to move but she could still feel it was like she was trapped in her own body. It made her hate these people even more. It was sickening how they could just leave her like this. She was angry, beyond angry she was furious and perhaps beyond furious. If she ever got out she would make every single one of these people pay. Anna was still sitting in the same position when she heard the door open to her 'room' by now the blood had trickled down and covered most of her face. Her bright blue eyes were still under her control and she looked up at the intruder her eyes were wild and angry. Anna wanted to attack the man make him pay, but she could do nothing. So Anna just sat there waiting for the man to do whatever it was he was about to do. She had suffered horrible things she could live through whatever it was he was about to do. Anna was taken off guard when the man had taken out a cloth and began cleaning her bloody face. Kindness? From one of these workers it was unheard of. Perhaps this man could finally help her. Anna looked up at him here eyes still wild but somewhat softer before she managed to mouth words silently. "Help. Me."

| "Ah, good... she's not biting..." Dave thought. He was disturbed by just how much blood was on the girl's face. He had gotten most of it off, when suddenly she mouthed, 'help me'. "Oh... come... on..." He barely resisted twitching. He was pretty sure just about half of the... residents, would probably say that same phrase... and then kill him and try to escape. But it was hard, an injured, defenseless girl asking for help, he wouldn't deny that it got to him somewhat. He frowned slightly as he finished cleaning her face... well, as best as he could since the cloth was now almost entirely soaked in blood. "There's not really much I can do, sorry..." He whispered. He was taking pity on her, but he figured she was probably just trying to trick him. Just because these people were insane, didn't mean they were stupid. "Well, that's about all of it." He said, pocketing the bloody cloth and standing. He was just about to walk out, after taking a peek through the window to ensure no-one saw. There wasn't much in the way of patrols or cameras, it wasn't needed when they had 5 inch steel doors and gates to keep everyone locked up. However, he suddenly had a thought and turned back around, "Alright, fine, I'll do one thing to make you a little more comfortable." He sighed and reached into his other pocket, "You like spearmint?" He pulled out a small green and white mint, and held it to her lips, "Might help wake you up a little too."

" What the Fuck!!!" Anna wanted to scream she was being abused and had no reason to be here surely this man could see that, right? So when she manages to ask for help all he does is give her a mint? He gently placed it in her mouth a nice gesture but what the hell was she supposed to do with it. Surely she couldn't chew it. The most likely of scenarios would be she would choke on it. Then it struck her, he was helping, he was giving her a chance for escape a way out. Suicide. Anna used what little control she had over her body to move the mint to the back of her mouth as it became wet with saliva it began to slide easier too. So she patiently waited until finally it hit the back of her throat. Anna then took a deep breath and felt the small mint slip down her wind pipe. She instantly began choking her bodies defense against the foreign object. She could feel it though it would be all over soon.

He was just about to walk out when he realized, or more like remembered, something. Those drugs did more than calm people down, it made it hard to do... well... anything. "Ah crap, what if she chokes on i-" And then he heard it, faint, but it was definately the sound of someone choking, "Why? Just... why?" He wanted to groan, but that wouldn't stop the girl from choking. He quickly got behind her and used the heimlich maneuver to force the mint back out of her throat. "OK, probably my bad, but still, how hard is it to not breathe a damn mint?" He grumbled, wondering if perhaps she had done it on purpose. Though, if that was true... he had to wonder what was going through her head. Great, now he was curious. "Alright, alright, look, they'll notice I'm not on my appointed rounda if I stick around too long, so, just try and pay attention. Stay calm, don't bash your head into the wall or anything, and I'll visit you again later, hopefully you'll be able to talk by then..." He said, "And... what the hell?" He looked at her straight jacket... which was at least two notches too tight, to the point where it could cause lasting physical damage. They were certainly not meant to be comfortable, but when worn for such long periods of time, you had to be careful to avoid harming the wearer. Besides, she was locked in a dingy little cell, what was she gonna do even if she slipped out of it? "Alright, I'm gonna loosen your jacket a little, OK?" He said. He then as gently as possible loosened some of the straps about two or three notches. "What the hell is wrong with me, if I get caught I am so damn screwed..." He grumbled mentally. He then stood, and slipped out of the room as quietly as he could...

If there was a god he truly hated Anna and wanted her to suffer as long as possible. She could feel the life beginning to ebb away when the man realized she was choking. No. no no!!! Anna wanted to scream but of course she could not. So he saved her life the mint falling harmlessly out of her mouth and onto her lap. So the man did hate her. Anna wanted so desperately to throttle the man take his keys and run as fast as she could away from this hell on earth. But in another show of kindness the Man bent down and loosened the horrible jacket. He did not take it off but she could breath again and blood had begun flowing into her arms. By the time she had begun to feel her arms again the man had stood up and was nearly out of the cell. Anna managed to whisper out to him. "Thank You."

| "Well... this is easily the strangest bloody day I've ever had... ever..." Dave thought, walking quickly through the halls of the asylum. He passed through the currently open gate for that section of the large building. THe place was built like a prison, but was a lot creepier. Time began to pass... and an idea came to him. He was tempted to follow Anna's example and bash his head into the wall just for thinking about it, but somehow he ended up deciding to go with it. He had said he'd visit her again, and he meant to do so. But it would take numerous hours for the drug to wear off enough for her to be able to speak and move normally. So in other words, he had to either wait for tommorow... or sneak in later that day. He figured sneaking in might actually be better since he probably wouldn't get caught... in the act. The trick was getting in and out of the gate unseen. There were no night guards at the inner gates, they just locked them and kept a few people at the entrance and exits to the outside... same set-up with the security cameras for the most part. The one thing that made this plan even somewhat feasible were the barracks. Hardly anybody used them, but any employee had the right to sleep on site... something he had never done because the place was creepy and smelled like dead things. He figured he could easily get a gate key and just say he hadn't wanted to bother driving home. And it wasn't like he was trying to start a riot or help anyone escape, right? All he had to do now was wait for people to start leaving, then he would pretend to go to the barracks, and then he would sneak through the gate and... "My god I sound like a damn spy... why am I doing this again?" He thought. The only real benefit is that there would be nobody around to catch him and he would have pretty much all the time he would need. However, he had to admit... it sounded kinda fun, if not a bit crazy. How ironic...

Anna sat there here knees aching from the position she had been set in and the loosened jacket while a nice gesture brought a lot of pain along with it. The blood rushing back into her arms ached like pins and needles from shoulder to hand. She wondered if she really was sane? Perhaps at one point she had been but surely this place had done more harm then good and something within her had indeed snapped. In her mind she was still somewhat sane but there was an ever increasing animalistic side that threatened to take over. The hours passed by slowly as she steadily regained control of her body as the medicine wore off. First was her toes she began wiggling them in an effort to help the rest of her body to do the same. Within thirty minutes she had stood up and paced her small padded cell. The new room in her straight jacket provided her an extra incentive to try and force it off. However it was still tight enough for her to not be able to slip out of it. Anna was tired after the strange day the man was out of place and she was confused why he had helped her it was a strange experience that kindness. Anna moved over to a corner and sat down her head between her knees. Her troubled mind never at rest.

Well, if he was going to do it, it would be now. Everyone was done with their rounds, and the gates were locked. He waited until he was sure the hallways were as empty as they were going to get, and headed out. For a huge asylum meant to keep insane murderers and the like, the securit was pathetic. Then again they had guards with automatic rifles, so... yeah. And the prisoners were never really let out, so, there probably wasn't much of a need. Oh well, it certainly made his life easier. He eventually reached the gate, and unlocked it, and then slid it open just enough fo rhim to get in, and slid it shut and re-locked it as quietly as he could. "Damn... I actually did it. Certainly never saw myself doing this when I was a kid." He muttered to himself and sighed. He quickly and quietly walked to Anna's cell and peaked in. He saw she was sitting in a corner, seemingly awake... or maybe not. Regardless, he didn't plan on wasting all this effort. If she wanted to sleep, he'd just make sure to keep this little visit short. But he at least had a few questions he wanted answered. So he entered, but made sure to close the door behind him. "Oi, hey, Anna right?" He asked quietly, but enough that she should easily hear him, "You awake?"
