![]() ![]() Ulric wandered aimlessly through his parent's estate bored. His golden eyes wandered from room to the next, trying to find something to keep him occupied for awhile. He supposed that he could watch TV, but as the saying often went: "<Insert number here> channels and still nothing good to watch." He had everything, his parents often could afford anything. There were videogames in an arcade locked in one room but he just didn't feel like playing them, an indoor gym was stashed in another with various equipment, he didn't plan on using any tonight despite his pent up energy. He was edgy, couldn't relax no matter how much he wanted to. His hand brushed through his silver hair in frustration. The thunderstorm that was currently raging had kept him bound indoors all night. Usually during this time, he liked to go out for a run in the woods in his lupine form. It always felt good, and made him feel alive. Eventually he found himself back in his room, slamming the door behind him as he went to lay down on his bed to stare up at the ceiling. The only reason his parents had decided to live out here was to be able to use their werewolf form safely without the notice of any humans. Rarely would any human pass by, the only ones that he knew of were the postal officer delivering their mail, or a few of the staff working with his parents. He sighed, rolling over to his side just as another crack of lighting flashed outside. His eyes focused on a photograph on his desk. It was of him and his best friend, Anna, when they were children, outside his house the first day they moved in. Funny how they had become friends so fast. This had been a shock to his parents who kept reminding him to be careful around her, never reveal what they were to humans and never fall in love with them. It was easier said than done. A furious banging on his windows instantly derailed his thoughts as he narrowed his eyes suspiciously. Who could be wandering around at this hour of the night in the middle of a storm? Pushing himself off the bed, he made his way towards the window sill and drew open the shutters. His eyes burst open in surprise as he saw Anna, his breath knocked out of him. "Anna?" He asked uncertainly looking her over and taking in her appearance. "What happened to you?" She looked like hell. Her hair was soaked from the rain and she was far from wearing anything decent for the weather. His eyes narrowed into a glare as he looked at the ripped shirt she wore, the shorts, and her bare feet. His eyes instantly focused on the backpack she held over her shoulders. He gritted his teeth, reigning in his anger at the evidence of something being amiss in her home. "I think you'd better come in." He said, reaching to take her hand and pulling her towards him. Moving to his closet, he took out a blanket and quickly wrapped it around her before motioning her towards his bed. He knelt down in front of her, his brows furrowed in concern. "Anna, what happened? What's wrong?"

Her small body shook with fright, and her sobs were hystrical. "You know how I always have all these bruises, and never invite you over anymore, I refuse to talk about my step-father, and hate being home?" She questioned in a shaky voice that threatened to break. She bit her lip not wanting to continue but knowing she needed to. He had always een there for her and he could protect her right now because she was scared and didnt know what else to do or where else to turn. "He...beats..me.....and him and...hi-is fri-end...ra..-pe me." She pushed out in giant over whelming sobs. "Ever since my mom died, its been happening and she is so far away now, i think he blames me, and maybe it is all my fault...And i'm sorry i just couldn't stay there anymore, it was killing me. I didn't want them to touch me ever, and they wont stop, they never stop. I'm so scared Ulric, protect me." She said in a frightened voice that cracked and broke every few seconds. She had fear written through out her face, and her Silver/blue eyes showed pure vulnerablity and fright. She shook feverishly and sobed harder as she pulled the blanket closer around her frail body. |

Ulric kept silent as Anna listed the few things he had found puzzling over his time with her, only giving a subtle nod to show that he was listening. He had suspected something odd was going on when she had suddenly stopped inviting him over to hang out at her house. It started a few days after he noticed the bruises on her body which she had tried to hide behind her clothes. Long sleeves shirts and pants during the summer. That certain cried normal to everyone that saw her. An actual growl had actually slipped it's way out of his throat before he had a chance to keep it down when he had discovered them. He had demanded her to tell him what happened, how she had gotten hurt like that. Still, no matter how much he questioned her, she never said anything. The beast within him had nearly clawed it's way to the surface that day, it frustrated him to no end know that she had been hurt and he couldn't do anything about it because she was too stubborn to talk to him. Then came the visits to his home. Although he didn't mind them at first, they started growing in frequency. She seemed to be trying to delay the day as much as she could to keep from going home. It had been odd, but she never said anything so he had to assume she was alright. He trusted her that much at least. Taking a seat beside her, he pulled her towards him and rubbed her shoulder in an attempt to help comfort her. She seemed more than distressed tonight. He wanted to know what happened, if there was anything he could do to help. Millions of questions formed in his mind, but he kept quiet, afraid that if he voiced any of them she would immediately shut down as she had always done before, leaving him seething in anger. Come on, you have to tell me. What had happened? His scent of smell was failing him. Because of the storm, it had washed away whatever scent of the culprit hurting her, much to his aggravation. When she finally did speak, he was stunned into complete silence. Then came the anger, pure and absolute rage. A red haze swam in front of Ulric's eyes. The lightning outside flashed illuminating the room like a spotlight through the window. Her voice and face were laced with fear, her body trembled beside his own as she started to cry into the blanket. But he didn't notice any of these things. Everything had fled from his mind but for one thing that kept echoing within his head. Her father and his friend beats her, then rapes her. He gritted his teeth as a tremor rocked through his body. The men were going to pay. Anna was his and she did not deserve such disrespect. They were his prey and enemy now, they were dead. Ulric instantly jumped to his feet, his eyes were feral as he glared outside at the storm. Forgetting Anna was still there, he clenched his fist and began to shift. Sable white fur started to spread over his skin, his body bulking larger tearing through his clothes, his face lengthening into an elegant muzzle. His ears rose into lupine points as his big hands and feet grew deadly, curved claws. In seconds Ulric was gone. A new creature that wore his skin had crept in to replace him, something from the dark pits of a nightmare, a bestial force of hideous strength. Anger surging through him, jaws snapping, Ulric threw himself out the window of his room into the stormy night with a mighty roar. He was focused on ending the two men's life, he knew where they lived.

Anna didnt know what to do as she watched her life long friend change into something unhuman. A small scream reached her ears as she froze in her place watching in amazment as the elgant beast formed before her. She watched as he jumped out the window and shook harder with tears as she reliazed what he was going to do. She was shocked and didnt know what to do except crawl into his bed and wait for him to get back. So she went to his draw and grabed a pair of his boxers then garbedone of his shorts and changed into them. She then walked over to his big fluffy bed and layed down cuddling up in the covers as she watched the window and waited for him to get back.

Ulric landed silently, crouching low to the ground despite his heavier build. His head moved from one side to the next as he tried to get his bearings straight. He was in front of the house, near the driveway. His target was just straight ahead through the forest in the town not too far from his home. Once he was certain of his destination, he bolted towards the woods. The bastard was going to pay. He would die tonight. They both would be dead tonight. Nothing was going to stop him. Trees and bushes blurred by him as he sped by at an incredible speed. The rain pelted against his body, but he barely noticed in his rage. Currently, he couldn't care less if he winded up smelling like wet dog. It would take no less than fifteen minutes for him to reach them from his home in his werewolf state. Vaulting over onto a tree, he started jumping from one branch to the next.

She shook as she layed there too scared too fall asleep. The rain poured and the sky illuminated with each lightening strike. Thunder filled her ears and her blurry vision looked almost peacful as she stared at the night in front of her. She prayed Ulric wouldnt do anything too drastic and that he'd be back soon. She wasn't scared of him, no matter what he turned out to be he was still her best friend and nothing could change that, she'd still be there for him and he'd still take care of her. She dazed off pushing tonights events from her mind as she attempted to calm her shaking body.

Ulric's senses raced at dizzying speed when he finally arrived at Anna's home panting for breath. His muzzle rose up into the air as he took a deep breath trying to pick up the scent of the bastard and his friend. Another flash of lightning came by briefly illuminating the house. The trouble was, as far as he could see, there were no people within any of the rooms in the front side of the house. The windows were empty and the rain continued to wash away all traces of scents preventing him from tracking them through smell. With an irritated growl, he circled around the premise, searching for signs of the men. When the lightning came again, he could make out two men in the lower level of the house. Not wasting any time, he rammed his body through the window, shattering glass and landed softly on the ground. "What the hell?" Gasped one of the men as he turned to see him rising back to his feet, standing to his full height. "The fuck is that?!" Asked the other as both men slowly began backing up away from him. Ulric closed in on the scent he recognized most as belonging to Anna's father. He had always smelled like bad news to him. This only proved and reinforced it. The two men retreated, backed up against the granite fireplace of the living room. As Ulric lunged for them, they dodged aside. His paws sizzled as they struck the red-hot coals, and he howled with rage. The smell of burned hair and flesh only added to his anger. Shaking off the effects, he bared his teeth and attack more swiftly. No playing around. "Dunno, but it's gonna get a good beatin'. If it can get hurt, it can die." Came the gruff reply of the father reaching for a poker. He reared up and smashed it into his flank, pressing him down to the ground. "See, this guy ain't so tough." With a menacing growl Ulric easily threw the man back and turned to face him. The father brandished the poker again warningly, but he could see the fear on his face. He knew that Ulric would never give him a chance to use it again. "I'm getting out of here!" Said his friend before running out the door. "H-hey! Wait!" Ulric pounced at him. The father shrieked. He went down under his weight, all but vanishing beneath him as he seized his neck. The father twisted furiously in his grip, and Ulric felt the hot tang of blood in his jaws as they broke skin. Blood frothed from his jaws as he clawed at his spurting throat. In moments the man stilled, his struggle ceased. He was dead. That was one down, now for the other. Slowly, he released him and backed away before turning towards the door and dashing through. He paused when he noticed the man was nowhere in sight. The rain had quickly washed away his scent. The darkness and forest hid whatever path the man had visibly taken to flee. He was gone. He'd escaped him. Growling in frustration, he let out a long howl at his lost prey. There was nothing more he could do. Turning, he slunk off down the road, headed back for his home. When he arrived, he slammed through the front doors, shaking his fur dry, and made his way to the living room. Mud and blood still dripped from his body, but he ignored it. He could clean it later. He lay down and curled his body into himself for comfort, angry at himself for letting one of the men who hurt Anna escape like that.

Her body froze as she heard the front door slam open. She slowly got out of the bed and tiptoed to the door. There was a fifty fifty chance of who could be down there and both men were very scary at the moment. There was a chance her step-dad had followed her here to finish the job, or Ulric was back. As scary as he was at the moment she would much rather confront the over sized wolfman. She bit her lip nervously as she slowly walked down the steps of his large house. She made her way to the front room and saw a huge ball of fur curled up on the floor. She walked over casitously and steped in front of him with teary eyes and placed a hand on his muddy, bloody (ha! that rhymed =] ) fur. "Ulric?" She whispered in a soft fragile voice. "What did you do?" She asked her voice now frightened and shaky. She was scared for the lives of her step-father and his friend, but knew in her heart they deserved punishment. But was death really what they deserved? Did he even kill them? Judging by the blood on his fur he had killed something. |

Through the haze of his fury, he heard a soft voice call out to him. It sounded familiar. He felt the pressure of someone's hand against his fur. A threatening growl worked it's way to his throat as his eyes snapped open to see who was there. His gaze fell on a girl, fear was etched completely on her features. Good, she should fear him, he was not in a good mood. As he got to his feet in preparation to attack, her scent assaulted him. He knew this scent. His bestial mind worked to place it. It was familiar. It was someone special to him. He stared at her for a few more moments before it clicked. Anna. His best friend. With that thought, gradually the growling died away as he sat back down on the carpet, calm. He couldn't tell how long the calm lasted. Spots of color started to speckle his vision. His limbs cramped up and his body shook. It felt like he was being suffocated, smothered, like the power was draining away, leaving him weak and defenseless. Fur melted away revealing pink flesh as his body shrank down. In seconds he was human again. Laying naked and bloody on the carpeted floor. Ulric blinked, trying to clear his vision. He held up his hands, staring at the pink, hairless skin, flexing his wrists. They were all caked in a layer of blood and mud. It had been a long time since he'd lost control like that. The last time he remembered ever changing and giving into the beast had been when he was a pup. But he had been so angry, he didn't care. Anna's father and friend had to die, but he had only managed to get one. He bit back the anger that flared at the memory. Focusing past his hands, he saw Anna standing over him. Poor Anna, he had failed her. He froze as he realized what he had just saw, an icy feeling climbed it's way up his spine. Anna was here. With him. After he'd changed back from his werewolf form. His hands reached up to grip the side of his head as he recalled she had also been in he room when he changed. Damn! He'd changed in front of a human, what was worse, he'd changed in front of his childhood friend. She knew what he was. Cursing himself in his mind he got to his feet and looked up at her. "Anna, I can explain. I uh..." He paused looking at the large amount of evidence around him, evidence showing what he was. The muddy paw prints on the ground, the blood on his body...His mind drew a blank. Nothing he could come up with could explain this logically other than what he was.
