CASUAL RP

Prologue

This RP is based upon the Anime version of One piece. This is going to be an epic seize RP - it will follow the storyline of One Piece in Anime form. And thus if you are not a dedicated Rp'er, than this is definitely not going to be for you. I am looking for boys and girls who are willing to spend some of their precious time into this story and their characters. You will have to have the basic understanding of English - although I'd prefer it if you was an intermediate to advanced player. The ideal applicant for the roles should have some to an extensive knowledge about the character he or she is applying for, although I will consider people who have little to no understanding about it. I am going to provide detailed character sheets to those who don't know them that well. I support romance - since the actual story lacks a huge chunk off of it, but don't go complete out of character in their actions - and keep it PG13 lol.

The Story

One piece - a treasure supposedly mightier than anything that has ever existed. The Pirate King himself, Gol D. Roger proclaimed it while he was on his execution stand. This treasure of unimaginable seize is somewhere hidden along the Grand Line. A group of nakama (friends) are heading out to sail the big blue seas. Although their goals are different, they united to achieve their dreams. Heading for the most dangerous place on earth, the Grand Line. Intelligence, skills and the will to survive are mandatory on this unforgiving sea, which wraps up once around the equator of the known world.

Time stood still - the century of the Void passed, and the history books were re-written. The world government eager to hide what caused the long lost century and eliminating anyone who even barely knew or spoke of it openly. It is said that unbelievably powerful mechas as well as weapons were build throughout that century, thus raging through the vast lands causing bloodshed, corruption and suffering. Burning any evidence on paper, destroying any building or machine which was remotely hinting towards that technology, the world government tried to obliterate and deny the existence of that century.

But to their dismay, massive block shaped stones (Poneglyphs) - holding ancient inscriptions were passed on by many ancient races throughout their generations. Holding the evidence to that century, as well as showing the one who can decipher them - the way to one of the most powerful devices of destruction. A blueprint to an ancient weaponry which would make the owner of it, the solemn ruler over the entire planet.

Hence corrupted criminals, pirates and the wealthiest men on this earth are after those stones, ultimately after the ancient weapon. To achieve their ultimate goal - world domination.

Monkey D. Luffy sets out to become the next Pirate King and claim the treasure that is One Piece. You are part of that very pirate crew, sailing the seas with your fellow comrades to achieve your dreams!

So yea, this is the Interest check to a massive RP - I promise fun, entertainment and very good laughs, the pirate crew is one hell of a gang! Once I have enough people who are willing to come along, I'll open the OOC.

These are the main roles, and as such will need to be fulfilled to get this Role play going. On a side note - because I am taking this entire RP after the Anime series, at the beginning some of you will have to wait until the appropriate arch arrives for you to step in and join the crew. For example Franky joins the Straw-hat crew on the '7Water' arch while Brook joins the crew even later. certain Character will be NPC but I'll appreciate anyone who is willing to play short term positions like Nefeltari Vivi who is the princess of Alabasta and joins the crew shortly from Whiskey Peak to safe her kingdom.

Villains will have to make their entrances as well, I will be moving those - Unless I have people who are interested in Marine commanders and captains such as Smoker, etc.

Well we shall see how much interest this RP generates and go from there .

I really wanna join this but I can't decide wither to take zoro sanji or luffy GRRRRR.
ps. I might not join if it is advanced and if you mind me every once in a while making short posts,(sometimes I just can't stretch a post talking about my character sitting down and eating meat into a paragraph)

Maybe I should have been a little bit clearer on it, but pardon me... it was around 3 am in the morning

It's not an advanced RP - more a casual RP which will be lead -story wise by me, also once in a while short posts are fine, but if you can ONLY posts one liners ... that's really not what I am looking for.

i would join but my knowledge of one pieces characters in the whole isnt great.Its been a long time since i watched it and even then it was just what i could catch

Like I said, I'll make detailed character sheets for those who don't know the characters that well So for them to get a feel for it, I'd strongly recommend watching one or two epis just to get a little more comfy... You can find em on the net... if ya need help with that just PM and I'll link ya.

Then I was skeptical.

Now I am weeping.

I passively support any One Piece role plays by default, but non-Advanced ones using the original crew is... well, the original story is already there, you know.

Today, Wednesday the 26th of August, 2009, there are twice as many pages (78) in the Interest Check forum than there are (39) in the Advanced Role Playing section. The Interest Check forum was started in February this year, whilst the Advanced section appeared in July 2007.

Is this worth caring about? No, but I don't have signatures activated anyway.

not everyone likes going advanced and i think it should be totally up to the maker of the rp to decide :/ casual is fine for any rp i think.
after all that would mean any non advanced players wouldn't be able to do a one piece roleplay featuring the original cast?

Not at all. All I mean is that non-advanced and original cast are both things I don't like in a role play.

I understand that completely hence we can go from here - see if anyone is remotely interested in a RP based off or a completely new One Piece RP which happens in the One Piece world. I'm open to suggestions

And on a side note - It was supposed to be an advanced RP - since I myself like to put time, effort and thought into my posts - but there was no interest in that RP at all. So I'm trying this out - making it a casual, maybe that won't scare people as much XD
