In an alternate steampunk universe on a distant planet known as Winter XI, technology and power has brought man to the brink of extinction. A scientist had been working on creating machines for the purpose of betterment, but once he realized that instead of helping the world, he would be nearly indestructible and help himself. Not much needed to be changed with the mechanical beings, only instead of steam their fuel was human blood. It had taken a whole year before the machines had finally been unleashed unto the planet of Winter XI. Half a dozen of the machines were capable of destroying unprepared cities. The few who survived had either given up or lived with only a sliver of hope left. They manage to survive by staying out of sight and scavenging enough supplies to meet their needs. Those who live without fear and keep that sliver of hope dear to themselves are the ones capable of bringing down the legions of machines and the man who started it all.
