Interest check for After School Heroes. It is an Advanced RP centred around a group of teenage students in America and their slightly insane science teacher. After the students miss (for whatever reason) the prac for the day, they are forced to redo it after school with their teacher. An accidental mix-up of the chemicals involved results in an explosion, altering them into mutants with superpowers. After a minute they revert back to their normal human forms, however are able to change back at will. As one can probably see, this RP was run before. It was quite successful until most of the players disappeared over Christmas. Due to a lack of activity from them I am now seeking more members and pressing the reset button.

Anyone with a character in mind, please post them here for a quick evaluation before probable acceptance. Two other players who will be staying on from before are Borealys and Harlequin.

Here’s the basic layout of my character sheet, mimic if you want but I don’t really mind, it’s the content I care about.

Name: Matt Ryan (Mr Ryan to the students)
Code name: Professor Maet (pronounced My-at) or Neb
Sex: Male
Age: 27
Ability/power: (human) Matt is able to see into and slightly manipulate someone’s subconscious, allowing him command over their dreams and the ability to slightly nudge someone’s attention to or away from something. He is limited to two mutants or four to five humans at a time before any shrouds become too complex to uphold.

(Transformed) His mind sharpens amazingly in this state fully utilising the subconscious side of his brain to processing, allowing him to work out solutions and plot far faster than normal. There is also a minor improvement in his short sight, allowing him to remove his glasses and still read/write clearly. The buckles on his lab coat become an extended part of his own body, reaching out to a maximum of 10 feet. With the 6 white tendons Matt can support his own weight on one (provided he doesn’t carry anything or swing about too much) or another person’s with three. They act as arms to allow him to climb out of a sticky situation quickly however as they are only strong and slightly fire resistant cloth, they break with enough stress or if struck with enough force with a sharp blade.

Transformation form: His skin turns to a light shade of blue and his hair lengthens to his lower back. Matt’s white lab coat becomes more pointed and angled along with three large belts appear, clamping it to his chest. When unbuckled it reveals a straightjacket-like six straps. (3 hidden under the outside 3) Under his lab coat are his usual work clothes, however, instead of quickly allowing people to Identify him as dear old Mr Ryan, they are the mass produced and worn staple of workers all over the city.

Hair colour: Black, reaching just over his shoulders in a V shape at the back
Skin colour: Pale white from lack of sunlight
Eye colour: Light Green

Description of clothing (pick if necessary): Matt wears a pair of tight long black business trousers, black shoes a loose white buttoned shirt and a black tie. Over this during school hours, and often at other times, he wears his school issued white lab coat. A pair of square short sighted glasses are normally present on his nose, to compensate for his eyes.

Personality: Matt is an unhappy and disillusioned public school science teacher. He started the job with the keen hope to teach the next generation about the wonders of science, however now realises that only a microscopic amount of the modern community shares his utter rapture to it. Harbouring a slowly growing hate for the world he despises almost all parts of society, holding back for only those he deems worthy to be called human. He is a coward when not in his normal authoritarian position of head of the class, though it isn’t hard to push him from his pedestal.

Weapon: Mostly his mind but several chemical bombs are hidden in his coat and on explosion they emit thick dark blue clouds, giving him a chance to strike or run. If inhaled they cause nausea and a strong headache. If the target inhales too much, they are likely to pass out for about half an hour. If in close combat Matt uses scalpel to hack at anything that moves. He is not at all above fighting dirty if he feels under threat, using anything that comes into reach including hostages.

Strengths/Weaknesses: Matt is very bright and a quick learner. However, a lack of strength and only short turns of speed cause him to avoid physical encounters. He can be surprisingly quick when he is either panicky or threatened, (eg. Something/someone behind him) however due to a lack of training, these turns of speed are often short-lived. He is also a coward when it comes to his own personal safety, willing to sacrifice other’s lives for the greater good however, hypocritically, considers himself too great a loss to the world to let himself be put into the same equation.

Character’s ages should be from 16-18-ish, unless specified in your character sheet that they have moved country or other such reason. I can imagine a 19 possibly fitting in, but that’s beginning to stretch it.

BUMP for necessity. This storyline is equivalent in importance to the Holy Books of w e faith, climate change, and the kama sutra combined!

Yes! If you do not join, the world as we know it will fall into the clawed hands of a mad scientist! All humanity will be wiped from the earth and replaced with a golden age of properity, easy living, incredible advances in technology. Oh, and slavery/death for everyone dear Mr Ryan doesn't like.

Harlequine, can you post up your character sheet when your done? (same for Borealys)

I think I would like to toss my character into the mix. If possible could I see some of the other CS to get a better feel for what has already been taken and what could be helpful for the team?

Name: Chris Koch
Code name: Spore
Sex: Male
Age: 17
Ability/power: Mycokinesis (mind over fungus)/ generation of myconids, while human can release spores secretively that have a variety of effects ranging from soporific to aphrodisiac, seizure inducing to sneeze inducing.

Transformation form: Chris's skin becomes clammy and he is able to release spores into the air to preserve himself in case the original body is destroyed. However, the copy must culture long enough in order to be an exact copy.

Hair colour: Dirty Blond
Skin colour: White
Eye colour: Hazel

Personality: Chris tries to be sociable, and generally is well liked by everyone. He jokes around a lot, even during times that should be serious. No one seems to notice how little they know about him though. He's very private, and there's an unseen edge to him because of what he hides from everyone.

Weapon: Any fungus generated by him, whether it be a separate being, fungal growth, or an airborne spore.

Strengths/Weaknesses: . He's incredibly aware of the environment around him, and can use it to his advantage whether for laying a trap or for escaping, however dry environments are unbearable for him. He's managed to avoid fights because of how much people like him, but a lot of stress and rage and sadness have built up inside him over many years, so if he pops, while he won't be skilled at it and is likely to hurt himself, the victim isn't going to be walking, or crawling, away. He gets emotionally overwhelmed on a regular basis, although he hides it well, and that really throws off both his personality and actions.
