Jack lay silent waiting, the sound of the raverns heading in he looked up seeing the black dots in the distance. He smiled and rose from where he was sitting, looking at the squad members "Ok form up on me!" the raverns came in 2 transport one was empty but the other... wounded and dead men thanks to the locust jack said under his breath "ah, shit"

Jack looked again at the recruits "Ok men get in" he waited for the men looking around one last time before boarding. Everyone took there places, jack walked up to the pilot "How long is it going to be?" "it will take about half an hour" the pilot put his hand to his comm link in his ear "Also the LZ may be hot so be ready" Jack walked back an took his place "Ok men listen up it will be 30 mins to get there and the LZ is hot so stay sharp, we will circle the area once for the gunman to take out most of them, once we get off form up by me and i will instruct you accordingly"

Taylor listened to the game plan, "Yes Sir" Taylor replied to Jack. Taylor took of his beret putting it in his back pocket, he then fitted on his helmet, watching the view as they flew over what was once a city.

He thought about what had happened only a short while ago "Private Ken Taylor was the sniper of Omega Squad, and a great one at that that is until the “Incident.” The Locust just kept coming out of their god forsaken holes, his friend Kavin was killed in the beginning of the ambush before they had time to react. Just the 3 of them now, the Locust kept coming, they were running low on ammo, and in a short time they would be overrun. Taylor decided that he would stay behind and keep the Locust pinned down as the rest of the squad got away. Taylor horded all the ammo he could for his Longshot Sniper Rifle and began firing at the Locust keeping them in their holes. The rest of the squad quickly took off, that was the last Taylor saw of them. Taylor kept the Locust pinned down for a while or at least it seemed like it, after he ran out of ammo Taylor ripped out his pistol, and ran out from cover for the Locust’s Holes, knowing he would die, yet no Locust could be seen the holes were just as bare at could be. Taylor holstered his pistol and sprinted to where his squad went. When he caught up to his squad he could barely recognize them, their bodies all mangled. Taylor called up HQ and told them what happened, they sent King Ravens to pick him up, and upon arriving back at base they promoted him to Corporal and transferred him to the newly formed Alpha Squad, calling it the “Incident” and keeping under wraps for now."
