Default If I Changed Everything But My Name

Okay, I was wondering if anybody would be interested in an original plot Doctor Who roleplay.
Or, if nobody who watches the series is interested, I would be happy to explain the general idea, it's a very easy concept to grasp.

Um, okay, so this will be set during the time of the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant), my personal favorite after the Ninth (Christopher Ecclestone).
I will play the Doctor himself,
I might wish to warn you that some things I say may contradict things said in the actual show, well, more the time period I plan to use, and the specific date, was in fact the work of the Ninth Doctor, but, since I tend to work with quirky easier than depressing, and I love the glasses, we'll just have to go with the Tenth.

The date is April 14th 1912 when the Doctor arrives in Southampton, England, so be prepared, and I suggest you look up what happened on the night of April 14th 1912. (*hint* It was the length of a London street, and it was in Southampton, you can't miss it)
You can create your own characters, or use characters from the show, though I do state a preference that any villains be well thought out to match the plot, and no more than three or four people MAX. join.

Other than that, we're cool.

So, I reccommend you post your character biographies first, I guess I'll stick one of my own up, though I assume by now you'll know what the Doctor looks like, oh, and yours doesn't have to cram so much into it, I'm just showing off everything I know.
So, obviously, no more Time Lords (duh), No aliens (except the Doctor) on the Good side, humans are the best, the Doctor loves humans, so I recommend you use human characters if playing a goodie.

If you don't know Doctor Who and wish to join, please drop me a message.

-----------------------------------------

Personal
Name: Unknown
Known As: The Doctor
Age: Around 903 years, although uncertain
Species: Time Lord
Regeneration Number: 10/13
Home Planet: Gallifrey
Ship: The TARDIS (Time And Reliative Dimensions In Space), also referred to as The Blue Box.
Appearance
Build: Tall, and rather scrawny and skinny.
Eyes: Dark brown
Hair: Brown, usually spiked untidily forward or to one side.
Accent: Nondescript English
Clothes: Either a brown suit with blue pinstripes accessorised with cream Converse shoes, or a blue suit with red pinstripes, and red Converse shoes, may also wear a tan, ankle length coat, for formal occasions he also has a black suit with black shoes.
Other: Thick tortoishell rimmed glasses, for aesthetic purposes only, apparently.
Other
Personality: A little manic, with a tendency to laugh in the face of impending doom, he gets angry very rarely, and has a strong sense of loyalty to those he is close to. He has his sombre moments, when he prefers to be in the company of the TARDIS, wherever he goes, danger, death and destruction ('Lots of 'd' words' as he likes to say) inevitably follow. He accepts people to travel with him on rare occasions, but inevitably enjoys the company of those he chooses.
Weapon: Sonic Screwdriver, although it's hardly considered a weapon, it opens things.

------------------------

14th April 1914, Southampton, England

Ensuring the TARDIS doors were firmly shut behind him, the Doctor stepped into the street, he looked back, the TARDIS was hidden in a small, shadowy corner, and anyway, nobody ever noticed it, at least, he added with a slight grin, they didn't until he showed them it.
He shoved his hands into the pockets of his brown trousers and fiddled with a loose thread absent-mindedly, he wondered why there was nobody else roaming the streets, in fact, the place looked deserted, which certainly didn't fit his idea of Southampton, at least, not any Southampton he knew.
There seemed to be a lot of noise coming from the Doctor's left, so, naturally, he followed his nose, or rather, his ears, towards the dry docks where quite a crowd was gathering and, to his immense surprise, an enormous steamship was the centre of attention, he edged closer, there were barriers to prevent the public moving forwards so he decided it was only polite to wait until nobody was watching before waving his Psychic Paper by way of authorisation (in case anybody was looking) and ducking under the barriers, he pulled his square glasses out of his pocket and put them on, attaining his geeky look which he loved so much.
Both his hearts gave a huge leap as he read her registration number, it was printed in raised letters on her side in subtle black against the cheery red paint, 390904.
"No Pope," He murmered to himself, pulling a mirror out of his, seemingly inexhaustible pockets, he held it up and looked at the reflection of the numbers and, sure enough, reflected in the silver glass was the crude form of the words 'no pope'. He gave a slight smile and put the mirror back into his pockets which, he remembered with a wider grin, he had once said were bigger on the inside.
"The Curse," A voice behind him made him jump, a figure in a coat as long as his, but black, with the hood pulled forwards in a manner which reminded the Doctor forcibly of the Grim Reaper.
"Sorry!?" The Doctor exclaimed, once his hearts had stopped quivering quite so violently, "What was that?"
"The Curse," The figure repeated in a dry, husky and almost metallic voice that made the hair on the back of the Doctor's neck stand up, "It'll take her Doctor, the Curse will take her and all those aboard her,"
The Doctor nodded, confused, of course, he knew the fate of the magnificent steamer, as would everyone, come her maiden voyage, the thing that unnerved him was the fact that this person knew it already, when the liner was still in the dry docks, and, the reason he felt so uncomfortable, this stranger knew his name.
Before the Doctor could take one step, the stranger dived into the crowd, and not even the Doctor's sensitive sight would be able to pick him out again, likely he had lowered his hood.

Seval Doctor Who RP's have been tried recently, but all seem to never take off. Not enough Who fans around at once I suppose since each one gets a player or two, plus the creator. I would join but I am in too many RPs already and have a busy life. Maybe this one will take off. Welcome to the guild and best of luck to you!

Beh, *shrug* I am very used to it, the sad fact remains that Doctor Who is a very British-culture show, and therefore many people from other countries (Belgium, to mention one, there seem to be few Who-Lovers here) have little or no interest, plus it has a complex and-hard-to-follow plot if you aren't ready for it, especially to do with Doctors 1 through to 8.
Meh, if this doesn't take off I have a very active imagination and I swear I will quickly dream up something to catch the attention.
I'm well experienced in the field of rare-breed roleplays, Doctor Who being just one of them, and am well used to them being sentenced to an untimely death.

Thank you for the kind welcome, I am sure I will be at home here, and soon swanning around the place like I own it, as I normally do.
*grin*

ooc : hope this is okay

Name : Lucy
Age: 24
Species: Human
Build: Tall, and of normal build
Eyes: one is emerald green, the other is a deep blue - makes her quite distinctive
Hair: Has long, blonde hair, stops mid way down her back
Other: she is the doctor's latest companion and has been for the past two years or so.

-------------

Lucy stepped out of the TARDIS after the Docotor and waited till he has signalled to hr that it was safe to walk away from the TARDIS. She walked with him through the streets, looking around as she walked. As she walked she noticed that something odd, the streets were deserted. She glanced at the doctor and then followed him through the streets, till the reached the docks.

She stopped when the Doctor did and looked up and saw crowds of people and then looked beyond them. What she saw in front of her caused her eyes to go wide and rooted her to the spot. ''Is that what I think it is?'' she said mostly to herself but also to the doctor as she someone else to assure her that she wasn't seeing things.

"Absolutely," The Doctor said with a broad grin, "The RMS Titanic, beautiful ship," He paused, "This is April 14th 1912, the day of her maiden voyage."
He turned to look at her, an unusually sharp look in his eye, "Best not mention the fact she sunk on her first trip, nor the speculation that she was doomed from the beginning,"

With that, he turned back to the truly immense steamer, "She was beautiful," He said, so quietly that Lucy would be unable to hear. He frowned at the hundreds of people, how many of them had tickets in their pocket, and how many of them were guaranteed to see the next day?
