"Right, damage control." muttered Kevyn, flustered. He punched the intercom on his computer terminal "I need a robotic hazmat team to the central fountain. All units report to a safe 100 meter radius for crowd control"
"Copy that, Kevyn. Dispatch out." Crackled the speaker.

"Well," he said, turning back to Lucy "I have no idea how to stop it, but I'd guess the best place to start is at that statue. Anyone else coming?"

The Doctor nodded, "How many people have been looking at the fountain?" He asked, "And can we track them down?"
His briskness made him appear unruffled, but in truth he was desperately worried for his friend.

"What alien life do you have here?" He asked, "There must be some,"

Kevyn racked his brain "A few Hath, some of the richer families have Ood, the military has a carbosciliate amorph working as a sergeant, a family of Unioc in the south end, the hivemind reptillian attorney drones in legal and accounting... Oh! And the sisters of plentitude. A few of them run the hospital downstairs."

Lucy looked at the Doctor and then over at Kevyn and he poke of who lived in the city. She smiled a little when he mentioned the sisters in the hospital downstairs. She didnt think they had survived but was glad they had. She smiled over at the Doctor.

The Doctor nodded, "Okay, and nothing unusual no...Ood uprisings or strange lights in the sky, oh, and how long ago was this Sycorax sighting in relation to when the first statues appeared?"

Lucy looked at the Doctor as he mentioned the Sycorax. She remembered Kevyn had mentioned them, but had forgotten about them. She wondered if they were behind this.

"The oddest thing I can remember is the Hivedrone's lawsuit against humanity for carbon dioxide pollution." he snickered "That was a good one, had me busy for weeks. It didn't pan out somehow. And the Sycorax arrived about a month ago, but that fountain has stood for years and no one has turned to stone until today as far as I know." he rubbed his temples "I need a vacation."

Kevyn punched a few keys on his teraport, and the three of them disappeared and rematerialized just outside of the newly constructed hazmat barrier around the fountain.

The Doctor took the teleportation in his stride, but said, "Can you give us a little warning next time?" He said cheerily, before striding towards the fountain, "What is it that has them hypnotised?" He asked staring into it, "It doesn't seem to affect me,"
