Woo. I'm starting a vampire roleplaying thread because I don't see one anywhere else in the beginner's OR casual roleplaying forums. The plot will be a very loose, go-with-the-flow kind of plot, which is why I put it in beginner's (also because I just signed up and I'm better safe than sorry. )

RULES
Cursing is OK.
As stated in the rules, violence can be up to R but sexual content has to be PG-13.
OOC has to be surrounded in brackets [OOC] or {OOC}
No one-liners, no completely OOC posts (unless absolutely necessary)

I'm going to have people do intro posts instead of the character bios I'm used to - I'm experimenting. So, feel free to join whenever.

Sam walked through the pitch-black streets, gazing at the buildings as she strolled. She glanced at her watch, which glowed 11:58. The change in lighting hurt her eyes momentarily - she looked away. Sam has been living this lifestyle for 50 years and still hasn't gotten used to it; killing innocent humans to regain her strength isn't something she takes lightly. But it's necessary, so she tries not to think of what she's doing. Feeling the thirst, the smell of human blood scalding her throat like a burning flame, distracts her enough to allow her to do what she must.
Sam's eyes moved to the long scar on her left arm; a memory of how this lifestyle began. A memory of both where her life ended and began. Her sister Allison had died in a car crash when Sam was 17, and she was devastated. She tried to take her own life, but there was a vampire nearby. When he smelled the fresh blood pouring out of the open wound, he couldn't control himself and started to feast. He was interrupted by who knows what - possibly another vampire, or some other threat - giving Sam just enough time to crawl away and wish to die. After the pain ended, Sam realized what she had become, and she hasn't been able to live with herself since.
Coming back to the present time, Sam looked around, seeking a victim - someone alone, somewhere dark where nobody will see. Somewhere she can hide a body if she must. Sam hated running, always running - never to, but always from. But it's what must be done. Sam shook her head and gazed around, the thirst burning her throat constantly. She spotted a shadow in an alleyway and caught a familiar scent, causing her to turn towards the alley and quicken her pace.

Xanica hears someone behind her, only just noticing the shift in the wind as the vampire follows her into the alley. She would smirk, wondering if they actually thought of her as prey. Pressing herself against the back wall of the alleyway, and would all but disappear, her black satin dress blending in with the dark brick wall and avoiding the moonlight so that her unnaturally pale, almost silvery, skin, does not give away her hiding place. As she does this, Ms. Sernic would reach to the dagger strapped to her leg, wincing as her bare foot moves onto a piece of glass, cutting it. ~That is no way to avoid a vampire, Xanica She would think to herself, and winces, as the vampire comes into view.

((You double posted - can you delete the second one? Also, I'm assuming by the wording in the post that you are a vampire, but the glass cut your foot - I'm pretty sure glass would have no effect on vampire skin. So, which are you?))

"I have been up, for two nights, in a row, why can't I sleep. I don't feel tired at all, but I know it isn't healthy to stay up for two nights." Mizumi said as she was thinking out loud, walking through the city. "Another problem that I have is I can't eat. I wonder, if it has to do anything with that guy that attacked me two nights ago, I really thought that he was really going to kill me. Maybe I am too scared to go to sleep. What if he poisoned me! I don't want to die..." "Shut up! There are some people who actually want to sleep," Yelled a man who was in an upstairs apartment building. ” If you don’t, I will call the cops” "Oh, sorry. I'll keep quiet."
As Mizumi was waking through the city, she kept thinking of what was wrong with her, suddenly she smelled something. It smells like blood? Then why does it smell so good? Maybe it is something else, like some type of foreign food. She was following the scent; it led her to a dark alleyway. “What a weird place for food to be." Mizumi said as she walked into the alleyway.

Rafe stood silently, both of his eyes scanning the area ahead of him like he were a watchman on patrol. Both of them eventually came to a settled rest on the dark alleyway that was nestled subtly between two buildings that had long been in disrepair. One of them, Moe's Pizzeria, was run by a God-fearing family of immigrants - struggling every day just to make end's meat. The other was a apartment complex that was not really supposed to be one, considering the city's zoning restrictions. Nonetheless, that family of immigrants had lived there for decades. Their children had gone to college, taking a good deal of the parent's money with them, and the parents had long since earned their citizenship. It was beautiful - or, perhaps, it could more properly be called a miracle.

Rafe liked miracles. They happened every day and usually where they wouldn't be expected. The Big Guy must have shared in Rafe's appreciation for them, because wherever he went, he saw them. Maybe that, too, was a miracle - the fact that he could see them where others could not. Then again, Rafe was in the business of causing miracles, so perhaps that wasn't quite so odd.

Rafe began to move silently towards the alleyway, the same he saw several others enter not too long ago. His ebony skin glistened under the moon's sparse rays of light, until without any sort of flashy exposition or display, his entire form faded into nothing but pure energy, attaching himself to one of the streetlights and observing the group ahead with a smirk upon his nonexistent face.

Aro sat on the edge roof of the would-be apartment complex overlooking the alley. "This one's quite interesting." He said to himself watching the woman in the alley below. "She knows that we exist and that there are others coming after her but still she'd fight." He kept watching as she cut her foot on the glass and the smell of her blood floated on the wind.

He sniffed the air and sighed. "She would taste like fine wine." He said licking his lips as he saw another figure nearing the alley. "To bad. Here comes someone." He slowly stood on top of the roof to finish watching what was happening below.

Smelling the scent of another vampire, Sam turned. "She's mine," she hissed, turning back to her meal-to-be. She then turned back, looking at the new arrival more carefully. She didn't look like she was going to steal her meal, merely confused. Looking at the girls' eyes, she realized this was a newborn vampire. "Are you a newborn?" she asked. "I'm pretty sure you can smell every person on this block, although..." she sniffed, "I'm pretty sure there isn't really anyone else around." Although, as she inhaled, she smelled an unfamiliar scent - not human, not vampire, but something completely different.

Aro knelt back down when the scent of a second vampire reached him and the first whirled around and hissed. He smiled to himself. "Now it's becoming interesting!" He said sniffing the air once agian for anyone or anything else. An unknown scent hit him and he looked off into the distance. He sat in silence for a moment and thought to himself. "I wonder if this new scent is a threat?"He asked no one in particular and smiled to himself returning his attention to the other vampires.

Vampires. The mere fact that three of them were congregating in an area this small was remarkable to Rafe, although he'd seen worse before. Damascus, for instance, where the Islamic rules on the drinking of blood were very rarely observed by the creatures. Those that did all too often died days after they were created. Those were the real martyrs, he thought.

They could smell him, which was not a surprise. Few things were these days, and it made him yearn for the days of old, the days of when he was nothing more than another atom floating amongst an endless sea of energy and matter. He would have to reveal himself soon... but he was content to watch until one of them decided to pursue the matter further.
