| Nixi had been looking forward to this day since her father had allowed her to come. Even now with the rain pounding down and the crush of people all around, her spirits had not dampened. This was there chance to save countless lives and stop this idiotic hatred toward the Krill. She had been working for the last six months in the clinic on the outskirts of the city that helped to ease the discomforts of the Plague. She did not want to see one more helpless soul die from this horrid disease. That was beside the point though, she would not allow anything to bring her down today. With that thought, she turned and smiled at Kai, the big Krill who was striding along beside her. Kai had insisted on carrying all of her luggage, which only consisted of two bags. Her med bag was slug over her shoulder, bouncing against her left hip. "Cheer up, Kai! I thought you were looking forward to this?" she said brightly, knowing his answer already. The two had been as thick as thieves for the last two years, and she loved Kai like a brother. At first, she had been worried that he was only going on this trip for her sake, but she knew better now. He, of course, did not want to go in the beginning, but she had won him over with her own passion for their mission, and now, he was nearly as excited as her. Kai walked along beside the Professor and Nixi in the rain, with a bg tucked under each arm, and his one small one on his back. He was a bit too tall and broad to fit under the umbrella, and besides he loved the rain and water. What he did not like the crowds though since most people glared and cursed at him and tried to blame him for their own problems and the plague. He turned to smile down at Nixi, who was peering up at him, "Nix, I am cheery! You need to quit worrying your silly little blue head over me, you've got bigger fish to fry." He reached under to ruffle her hair, chuckling as he messed up her hair. He then heard the reporters question at Nixi. Him a slave? The Professor stepped in before the big Krill could, but Kai glared bloody murder at the reporter who had asked the question. Krill were not slaves, and never should be. It was not their fault the Fairy's Plague had come, and it affected his kind just as badly, so how was it their fault? Nixi gaped at the reporter with her aqua eyes wide in shock. "Slave? Kai is my best friend!" She cried as her father shoved the microphone away. He handled everything smoothly as he ushered them into the harbor. She was in awe at the sight of the S.S. Hilda. It was a beautiful ship, and she admired it through the rain as Captain Rogers joked with her father. She gave the man a smile, tucking her long blue strands of hair behind her ears. When her father turned to her, she was grinning from ear to ear in excitement, and his comment only spurred her on. She gripped her sleek silver medic bag tighter as she followed her father.

| Antoinette sloshed through the rain, relishing the feel of surface air on her skin. It would be the last time in a long time where she would be able to smell the ocean instead of see it out of a porthole. Some of the reporters asked her questions as well as the leader of the expedition, Mr. Deepwaters. She just gave them the finger, and followed Mr. Deepwaters, his daughter, and her Krill friend up the gangplank onto the S.S. Hilda. Although Antoinette had never seen the captain of the ship, she knew he was a pirate. She wondered what kind of stories he had. Stories of robbing ships on the high seas, of treasure. Oh, man! I can't believe I still believe in that shit. Stuff and legend, sunken treasure. But isn't that what we're after? another part of her asked. The Queen's Dahlia is practically a treasure in itself. A treasure with the power to cure the world. Antoinette shook her head to clear it and walked onto the S.S. Hilda.

| Maxell had done well keeping his cool, considering since the explorers had just plowed through a sea of overly Krill-hateful crowds. As the random people in the crowd and reporters assault the explorers with a barrage of questions and statements, none had enough guts to stand forth to Maxell. Perhaps it was the menacing expression on his face while he walked down the harbor. He was obviously deeply in focus of what was about to occur. "I almost can't wait to leave this place." he thinks to himself, "It's been a good while since I've had this feeling of uneasiness...I might be in over my head this time."

Hrainthar shifted past the crowd. He kept his head down and any question from reporters was plain ignored. Truth be told, he was more excited for this trip than he had been for anything else that he could remember. Too much of his life he had spent for others. Now he was living for the adventure and, while the world needed this salvation, he considered this journey a salvation in and of itself. As he neared the ship he caught his first sight of the captain and everything about him screamed danger into Hrainthar's ear. "but," he thought, "I suppose that it is his occupation. And the professor trusts him... so I will... for now." He transformed his face from stern, thoughtful stone to smiling as he caught up with the others, matching paces with them, a habit of his, as they moved toward the ship.

Even through she'd already scoured the globe several times over and gone on hundreds of adventures, Jade still got butterflies in her stomach as she marched across the harbor with Mr. Deepwaters and the rest of his crew. The crowd and reporters didn't bother her, on the contrary, she actually relished the attention. Sure, many of them were hostile, particularly towards the Krill, but she knew that it was simply because they were scared and didn't know any better, bot because they were ad people. Had it been up to her, she would have answered all of the questions thrown out by the reporters, but noticing that Mr. Deepwaters wanted to keep a low profile, she abstained out of respect for her employer. Settling for silently replying with a cheerful smile and the occasional wink or two for the cameras, Jade made her way to the S.S. Hilda with the others, playfully twirling her white umbrella over her head. As she closed in on what would soon be her ship, she couldn't help but gaze at it admiringly, since it was truly a mechanical work of art. Jade had never seen anything like it, and she couldn't wait to explore the interior which she imagined would be quite an experience it itself. She practically skipped across the bridge, barely able to contain her excitement knowing that she was about to embark on her most important journey to date. Her new captain certainly seemed to live up to his reputation since he looked, spoke and even smelled exactly like she imagined that a pirate of his caliber would. Jade felt slightly intimidated by the man at first sight, but she was more curious about him that anything else. Surely he had to have some amazing stories about rare and exotic treasures to share after all those years of plundering, and Jade was just dying to hear all of them.

Killian was looking around anxiesouly seeing the flashes of bright light as the reporters snapped pictures of the passing crew, Killian had decided to take on a more quiet air until they had boarded the ship. Just seeing the crowd gathered here was enough to make someon sick, all this pressure, all these people hoping for this small team of explorers to find them a cure. Then a thought struck him Who's to say they'll even make it to see the cure. For that matter what makes us think this expedition is going to be a success. Then for the first time since joining the crew, it hit him. Who's to say we'll even survive, this idea is near suicide... He panicked for a moment, then was distracted by a reporter closing in on him, at first he jumped back thinking the reporter to be some kind of threat. "And you? What are your thoughts on the mission at hand?" The question seemed odd. Why ask me? I'm a nobody engineer? Ask the captain, or someone who knows what's going on. Then noticing that the reporter hadn't heard any of that, because he thought it, Killian decided to quietly keep walking, the reporter tried several other times to ask Killian different questions, but he simply brushed them off and decided to ignore him. Gazing around at the people who would be going along with him, he saw an array of men and women, even a couple Krill This is quite the rag tag group of explorers. I like the looks of it. Then shifting his view upwards his face went blank, his jaw dropped, and his heart even missed a beat. For what he was looking at was the most awe-inspiring thing hed ever seen, the ship was immaculate it almost brought a tear to his eye. The ship would no doubt be in tip top condition, and he was being brought along... basicly to baby sit it's parts, which was fine, he reached for his notebook. In his down time he would need something to work on, he could no doubt find raw material through ports and other such things, maybe even spare parts, if they didn't seem to important of course. He was here to help, and make sure what happened to him doesn't happen to any other kid.
