He'd left the world behind.
Johnny Dean was facing the real world with blood on his hands. The "long-haired lout" was a free man with a heavy conscience. He was frightened, he had been ever since he'd murdered. He'd thrown the gun away, he swore he saw another one in a Hastings bin. But he'd run from it, even though he could feel it lingering over his head.
"Shit...shit...shit...this is fucked! Way out of whack, man...what do I do?"
He pleaded to the heaven's, but he knew they'd tell him nothing.
He took a seat on a crate and placed his head in his hands, but he didn't cry. He was done with crying, all that was left now was to sort through what he'd do with his life and where it would go.
That was if it went anywhere at all. He was fucked and he knew it.

Barbie leaned against the wall of a random building in one of the back alleys. The hood of her black sweater was propped up to hide most of her face. A cigarette burned in her mouth. Blue smoke spiralled towards the sky from it. It was just another day. The same ol' addicts would come by looking for their fix, begging for her to give them discounts, as all of her customers bordered on poverty. Depending on the day, she would be more generous. But today wasn't one of those days. She was in a bad mood.

She placed her hands into the pockets of her sweater and let out a small sigh, exhaling more smoke. What a shitty day. It was very possible that she was going to be kicked out of her apartment if she didn't come up with more money, and fast. Which is why she couldn't give anyone a break anymore. It was her fault for being so generous.

Sparky zipped her jeans and grabbed her purse off of the counter top in the dressing area in the back of Charlie's. She had just finished her shift and was feeling very anxious to get out of the club. She quickly scooped up the giant pile of ones that were sitting next to her purse, rolled them up and stuffed them into a pocket on the side of her purse. She walked past other women who were either changing into their work clothes, usually some sparkle bra and tiny thong, or changing back into their everyday clothes. Sparky walked up to a man leaning back against a door frame at the far end of the room. She smiled sweetly at the man and held out her left hand, palm up. The man glanced at her hand then looked back at her face. "Can I help you?"

"It's pay day, Baby." she said to him, her hand still waiting to receive something.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot." the man replied and pulled out a small roll of cash. Unfolding the roll he pulled out 5 twenty dollar bills and placed them in Sparky's hand. It was fairly decent for six hours of work here in Hastings.

"Thank ya, Baby." Sparky gave the man a kiss on the cheek and walked out of the room. She walked quickly through the club, said goodbye to the bouncer by the door and walked out into the daylight. She let out a sigh and pulled out her cell phone. She called Barbie, who was on speed-dial on her phone, she was number 2, number 1 was occupied by 911. The phone flashed calling and Sparky held the phone to her ear. She could hear the ringing and she began to feel impatient. She needed her fix before she went home. Sparky's heels clicked on the ground as she walked through the parking lot. She hoped that her day would start off right, if only Barbie answered her damn phone.

With shaking, trembling hands, Johnny raised a cigarette to his lips and a lighter to the cigarette. During the first few draws, he hadn't been able to quell his shakes, though they eventually receded. His head was still rattling though, any brain cells still functioning were giving him no answers.
"What am I gonna do? I've got nothing...nothing. What the fuck do I do?"
He stood up and begun pacing frantically, his paranoid thoughts leading him deeper and deeper into pessimistic misery.
That sent him into an anger spiral which caused him to kick through the crate he was sitting at, sending his foot through the aged wood, rendering it unfit for sitting anymore.
"Shit...now I can't even sit down...this fucking sucks...what do I do now?!" He found himself yelling at the skies before a muffled, distant voice retorted back at him, Hey buddy...shut the fuck up.
Johnny hadn't even heard him, he didn't care about what he said, he was too distracted by his own troubles.

Barbie saw one of her usual customers walking up to her. Not one of the ones with good money either. The man was dressed in ripped clothing. Oh great, another bum, She thought to herself. He came up to her, pleading for a break, telling her that he'd have the money for her tomorrow, and if not, then soon. She wouldn't have it today.

"Look, you need to stop hassling me. You don't want to see what happens if you keep it up." she said, advancing towards the man. "Understood?"

Then Barbie's cellphone rang. She pulled it out of the holster on her belt, and saw that it was Sparky. Now there's someone with good money, she thought to herself. Then she motioned for the bum to scram and then she picked it up. By the time she started speaking on the phone, the bum was long gone.

"Hello Sparky. It's been a while now, hasn't it? Don't tell me you've been going to other dealer's now, that'd make me jealous." She said jokingly.

Sparky smiled, excited that Barbie had answered. "Oh Baby, you know I only have eyes for you! Where can I find you?" Sparky asked trying to not sound too needy but truth was she'd hadn't gotten high in about a week and she was starting to get the shakes. She heard a man yelling behind her, she turned briefly at his voice but didn't pay him much attention. Sparky was walking down the sidewalk towards the center of town. Everything was close enough to there that she could walk to it and back and still have energy to walk home. On her right there was a man lying in the doorway of a building, he reached out for her leg as she walked past. She kicked him away without a second thought. "I really need you today, Barb." Sparky said quietly, knowing she sounded pathetic but not sure of what else to say.

Barbie grinned. She could tell that Sparky was hurting for a fix badly. This meant good money for her, and very soon. Of course, she'd try not to sound too desperate herself, that would be unprofessional of her to do that. The woman started to pace a bit as she spoke on the phone. A sound of someone yelling rang out in the distance, but she shrugged it off. Plenty of weird people around Hastings, there was no news there.

"I'm outside my apartment, hun, don't worry, I have what you need."

She knew that Sparky wouldn't ask for a break, she never did. Sparky was a good girl, who never complained about the fees that Barbie offered for her substance. After all, most other dealers were a bit greedier and tried to charge more.

"How close are you?"

Sparky's heart skipped with joy. "Give me five minutes, I'm at town center now. I'll see ya when I get there." Sparky hung up the phone before any more could be said. Any conversation before Sparky bought her candy was pointless and felt like it took way too long. She turned left at the street corner and started walking a little faster.

Sparky folded her arms against her body as a small breeze blew past. It wasn't cold if you were a normal person but Sparky was particularly thin and wearing nothing more that a skin tight halter top, jeans and some spikey heels. Sparky's phone jingled in her hand. Looking at it she saw she got a text. It was from someone called Pig and it read:
U kno I cant live wif out ur shit Shorty. U should cum ova b4 i pop.

Sparky rolled her eyes and ignored the text. She wasn't in the mood for men and their needs right now.
