Default Cold soldiers: No promises in the wind

w/e just start out with a [space]ship crashing on a planet inhabited by alien races and stuff.

1 soldier has to be a badass jarhead
1 soldier has to be the 'main character'
add as many characters as you think would survive the crash
freeform it
have fun

fuck. Rain started to pour on the tropical everglades, the strange Unidentified foliage brushing in the warm wind. The crackling of dying fire from the ship resulted in sparks flying in Kane's ear. "Fuck!" Jordan walked over to a nearby rock and sat. although his brims were soaked and his nerves had been dangerously piercing him, he did not cry. At first they were a integrite, solid group of advanced marines, with plenty of rations, food, ammunition, and now they are lost, in the dreary void of some planet. pieces of the ship were duct-taped by Dick to make some scarce shelter. Kane rubbed his hands together and started to rip and tear at pieces on his jacket. "We need to find the rest of the crash site." he said.

The mission was issued to protect a trade unit undergoing a lot of press harrasment, mainly due to economical paperwork being destroyed. The guardship contained 30 well trained marines, 2 BISON q9a3 choppers, each brand new containing 4 well placed chainguns, 3 quad-terrain jeeps, thousands of ammunition, and a huge display of pilot gear, weapons, and defense units. all of this was blasted to smitherines and left somewhere along the crash site perimeter. Jane Hunter was one of the members of the squad that survived, however she left the daybefore in search of humans or help.

Adaen (A-day-in) was awoken by the thick black smoke entering his lungs and the burning pain on his flesh. He sat up and let out a vicious cough,he dared not open his eyes because of the smoke.
He had absolutely no idea where he was,the only thing he knew was he had to get out of the smoke, out of the fire. His hands dug into the hot sandy ground and pushed himself onto his feet.Eyes still closed he ran threw the smoke, which was as thick as water.Fire licked his chin and hands but he kept moving...Right,Left,Right,left one stride after the other. His boot snagged something as we was running and he went head first toward the ground.Instinct took over and he landed on the ground and went straight into a roll which sent him back onto his feet....

The smoke seemed to thin as he ran,the heat also began to fade.Adaen opened his eyes and sucked in the clean sweet air,it was a different air then he was used to.More humid...More Foreign...
What had just happened? He remembered being on the ship, everything was going good...Thats all he remembered, then the rest was a void in his memory,as if it were missing, taken.Maybe someone had knocked me unconscious? No,Don't jump to conclusions. The crash probably jumbled my head.
A searing burning pain on the left side of his face and arm interrupted his thoughts. His knees buckled from the weight of the firey pain.He looked down at his left arm which was black from the smoke and flames...Must've got burned pretty bad...
Something cold and wet splattered on his dry lips. His tongue shot out and swiped the bit of water.Rain...He lifted his bald head to the cloudy blue sky.Cold soothing rain drops pattered his face and armThe fire of pain that had dropped him to his knees was now slowly being put out...

----------------------

Adaen is known for his fearlessness and smarts. He is often used as a scout because he is rather good at staying hidden and escaping harm...He is a quick learner when it comes to his enemies.Finding their weaknesses and strengths is a powerful weapon, one he enjoyed using...Often he lured his enemy into close distance,so that he may dispose of them with his bare hands (blades,clubs,etc.).He uses firearms but prefers the silence of a blade.

Blades of dawn aroused Jane hunter as the beautiful chirping of birds licked the skies, warm sprays of humidity fogged the clearings. She had been following the distant pathing of established ground, the obvious signs of humans- well, at least life, Jane was pretty sure there the 23 Unidentified species of plantae were not the only organisms on this planet. Stretching her hamstrings, a sudden shock occured to Jane.

Vi sighed and lended back, brushing her hair out of her eyes with one blood strained hand she closed the dead eyes of the young man she had tried to save. Could cound not have been more than 19, a waste of life. In truth Vi was only 20 her self but she had been a nurse with the men for nearly 3 years now.

Vi stood up, brushed the dirt off her knees and headed off to her next patient. No time to dwell, no time to think of her own injurys. Training had her well suited to dealing with others pain and not her own. The open wound on her cheek hardly registered as she saw a man run out of the smoking reck of the ship. Burns covered his arm and face, angery and red. There was little she could do, and the rain would help, but the last thing she needed was for them burns to become infected. He was a fighting man, and they needed men like him now more than ever. Pulling strippes of cloth out of her bag Vi walked over to him. Kneeling she pushed the clothes into the wet muddy ground.
"Highly unhygienic, but it will keep your skin cool, stop it blistering and saves me a job later!" She wrapped the muddy clothes around his arm, giving him a quick once over, checking for any other wounds.

Akaen flinched as she wrapped the now muddy cloth around his burned left arm.

"Highly unhygienic, but it will keep your skin cool, stop it from blistering and saves me a job later!"

"I think hygiene is the last thing on my mind Doc."He replied, lifting his smoke stung eyes to the crash..."How many would you estimate will live?"He asked her with a professional tone.He had seen some sights similar to this one.His heart had been numbed from years of seeing his allies die. That numbness was evident in his calm dark eyes...The Blackness of the smoke that had darkened his skin was slowly washing off from the rain.

At least its not a desert planet...

Vi laughed, "Doc! Oh no, he died in the crash. Im just his nurse." Vi turned her own eyes to the crash. "Ive seen 5 dead already, who knows how many got thrown from the reck or how many are still in there." She turned back to the solider, "My guess is theres not many of us left," she stood up and shrugged, "But what do i know, im just the nurse". The rain hit her face leaving it now streaked with blood (some of it her own) and mud.
Vi turned her head, looking for her next patient.
"You need any pain relief for them burns come find me, its going to hurt like hell once the shock wears off? Keep it cool and wet for the time being. I'll check them again later."

Jaqs Nadir and Mario Sanchez had manned NAV and COM respectively. Except when in combat situations at which time, Jaqs was sent down to the engine room to do extra duty there and leave the fight piloting to others.

She hadn’t made it down to the engine room when they’d been hit. Her mind went over sounds and with the breaking whine, she’d muttered, "Main Engine, fuck.." and braced herself against the slender halls in the ship, attempting to make her way to Engine.

She didn’t bother thinking about how far she’d gotten, if it had been five feet or three before the next three blasts hit the ship and made everything tip hind end over tea kettle. Her training kicking in, she had grasped rails and moved her way along the warming hall to a supply closet. There, she’d bunked up and tucked herself into a ball in the smallest space, preparing for impact.

They were trained to recall things like that, but she couldn’t recall a single moment between the closing of that closet door and when silence had settled. Then, Sanchez had found her and dragged her out, shouting something about getting bodies out of the wreckage and setting up camp.

Who’d died and made him captain? She hadn’t had the wherewithall to complain, though. Someone had given him point and she was well versed in following orders.

It wasn’t until she was carrying communique gear and following behind Hunter that she thought again about it. Sanchez remained behind to work on the camp and continue sorting out the dying from the dead. Not a job she wanted.

Her twisted metal rim glasses perched on her head, her outer shirt open and rain covered her shoulders in a wet blanket of green already pouring down her chest, she stumped up a bit and settled in next to Hunter, shoving her short hair out of her eyes. "Hey lieutenant," she said, half teasing, "you in charge now?" She wasn’t going to go overboard, but hell, the situation was a little uncertain and she was always happier when she knew who it was she had to follow.

Back at camp, Sanchez stared across at Kane from where he was setting out the few supplies from the medical kit that had been stored up near the bridge. He'd just found it in another foray to the perimeter they'd set up. Most of the supplies were no longer vacuum locked and there had been an electrical fire next to the kit and half of the stuff had melted. But at this point, anything he could get Vi would be better than nothing. "How many you need for that, Sarge? Might want to leave some guys here to help medical. But not me. I got.. " he held up the hand Vi had wrapped up for him. "I'm only good enough for the guys who don't need no help any more." And that was a depressing number.

The lush jungle like forest seemed to grow with each rain drop that it came in contact with. The pitter patter of rain drops crashing into the vegetation was a soothing sound for some reason...The ground was quickly becoming muddy and would suck Akaen's black boots within itself and hold a tight grip which made walking difficult. But a good strong jerk and his boots would come free...

Akaen had figured he would explore this unknown territory a little bit, knowledge of his surroundings was his best weapon and at the moment he didn't have that weapon...

The green forest showed little sign of any wild life. Most of the vegetation was untouched or undisturbed...No bite marks or sign of feeding.Maybe it was just this forest? He knelt down beside a green plant that resembled a fern,or a palm branch. It had been plowed over and broken.Something passed this way...Akaen circled the plant looking for any signs of a trail.A small parting in the vegetation suggested that something had passed there not long ago...

Akaen followed the very straight path slowly, keeping one eye on the ground and one eye ahead of him.Something caught his eye on the ground so he halted. His dark green eyes combed the ground and came to rest upon an object that did not belong among the vegetation...He picked it up and examined it...It was cloth, similar in color to the uniform he was wearing."Why would you be all the way out here?"The question tickled Akaen's brain,he realized he could have asked himself the same thing but shrugged off the notion as a second mystery revealed itself in his mind.

He dropped the piece of cloth and returned his attention to the trail. It was to big to be made by a man...Curiosity sparked and Akaen resumed his following of the mysterious trail. He had walked about twenty yards when he stopped...Did I just see something move?...Akaen slowly went to a crouch and looked down the trail threw the underbrush.A bloody corpse lay just ten feet down the trail from where Akaen was.He couldn't tell if it was human or not."Hmmm" He approached the corpse slowly, not making any noise. The wet ground was soundless under his feet and the roar of the rain pouring upon the forest made it almost impossible for him to hear himself breath...

The corpse was human.Man or woman Akaen couldn't tell, the body had been torn to pieces. Its chest and stomach had been sliced and the skin that belonged there was completely missing.A gaping hole in its throat made it hard to tell if this person had died after or during the crash...A small impression in the mud drew Akaen's curious mind.A track. It wasn't human. The rain had washed away most of the track's details, but he knew that it was not human...Then something clicked.Something Akaen hadn't thought of...The cuts, the missing skin and muscle...Maybe there was wild life in this forest?

Akaen turned back down the path where he'd come and left the
area,as quickly and silently as he had entered it...

The crash site was pretty much the same way he had left it.

The information he had gathered would be better kept to himself for the time being....
