"Are you ok there darling?"
The girl calmed when the gun was lowered from her dog. Yes, animals could be turned into zombies as well. Snuggling her face into the pooches neck she looked over her shoulder when the man asked her if she was okay. Obviously mistrusting him, she gave a quiet nod and tugged on the large dogs collar to tell him he could stand. It was surprising, really, that a young girl of her age had survived those couple of weeks with the zombies about. She was thin, perhaps starving, but she had still managed to keep stronge through the whole predicament. Stronger than most adults... "OY! Are you alive or dead!" "Damn it! We're alive, get the fuck over here!" Madison winced at the shouts, scooting in behind Jazz to shield herself from the nerve-wracking voices. She was used to quiet, until the zombies got loud...and when zombies got loud that meant run. With everyone shouting, she instantly felt the need to get on her own way. A cop had pulled up, and with one nervous glance in his direction she decided that he could be a danger. She had seen zombies in officer uniforms. For all she knew, any of them could be zombies in disguise. Of course, the real zombies didnt disguise themselves...but this is a seven-year-olds mind here. Just as the young girl turned her back from the group she heard a man shouting, once more, and then the unforgettable screams of zombies. Brushing her fingers across Jazz's ears she began to take off up the very center of the highway. A tiny, edible, moving target for any zombie to willingly pick off. She was running, and with a dog. That was enough to give it away that she was human.

Devin rushed forward, bat at the ready as Ted wrestled with one of the flesh-eaters.
Raising the bat high-above his head, he swung it down like a club, taking the zombie down, fracturing it's skull, seeing small fragments fly off. "Look at me...assaulting another citizen," Devin said sarcastically as he turned to take care of the other. He knew the bat wouldn't be as good as the gun, so he drew the M9 and pointed it at the zombies head, the cold steel touched it's matted head and Devin didn't think twice about pulling the trigger. Blood sprayed the pavement as the zombies useless brains hit the side-walk with wet splats! Devin turned to Ted, "Murder...cuff me," He said childishly as he walked back to the group. Though slates were clean, he had a grudge against that cop, as he was sure he had one against him. The bruises on Devin's neck spoke volumes.

Scrambling off of the sidewalk, whiping his face clean of tainted zombie blood as he followed the cop. "Thank you sir and officer." He said, voice shocked and breathless. White shirt was stained with blood from rolling around on the ground underneath the creepy beings.
"Shouldnt we find a place to hole up in? Last word I got was the safe havens were being over-run from underground. Apparently the only one safe is the white house." He rambled on, loading bullets intot he clip of his gun, tucking it back on the holster at his ankle.

(No one noticed the little girl run away then?...)
Raiko was stuck in the middle of things, he could either help kick some Zombie ass, or go catch the little girl... He chose to do niether. "Hell with this shit." He said, as he helped himself into the Cop's car. He got in the back, and rested his head on the back seat. "Now this is more like it, beats a Dumpster by far." He closed his eyes, and tried to fade out what was going on around him. |

Ted turned to the scientist "The names Ted, umm Im headed to Galveston to a safe haven if you want to come your welcome to." Ted noticed the little girl was gone. Ted turned and dropped his gun running at a full sprint for the girl. Ted was #1 national on the track in highschool and that helped so much during the academy. Ted reached the girl and picked turned her. He knelt in front of her leveling his face to hers. "Hey cutie, lets see im guessing your all alone....look sweety its way to dangerous out here on your own. Im gonna take you to a nice little place that is safe. Please come with me." He saw her look at the dog "Dont worry you can bring your dog. Whats his name sweetheart?" Ted wasnt afraid of the dog he had to train with them in the academy and he could control them easily, they were a ticking robot that were easy to control when able to understand. Ted took the girl by the hand and walked her back to the group. "Ok everyone were headed for Galveston if you want to come feel free if not stay I don't care. It will be a cramped ride so were gonna stop at the precinct to see if there are any SWAT vans left." Ted turned to Devin picking up his gun. "IF you got a problem with me say it now and get it over with. I dont hate you,Devin, I hit you that one time cause you were a dangerous person. Now come or go I dont care just dont get in my way or atleast help me....can you fire a gun?" Ted picked up his shotgun and pumped it releasing the spent shell. He noticed one of the guys in the back "Well thats one on my side.......hmmm sleeping......whatever"

Devin looked at Ted straight in the eyes, he could see this man only wanted to help, besides...slates were clean now, as he'd said to himself before.
He could've kicked himself for being such a hypocrite. "I can fire a gun...I'm going with you. Like hell I'm going to stay here and feed a bunch of fucking leper's...or whatever the hell they are." Devin suddenly noticed the bleeding on his arm again. "You got something to help me with this?" He asked, holding up his arm, the dog's bite marks still bleeding freshly.

Karek walked over to them, "Good, ah... Shit, here come some!" he boomed, pointing at a crowd of zombies that was running at them. His natural instincts as a loner kicked in and he leapt up onto the dumpster, then a fire escape, and then made his way to safety with the agility of a small monkey...

Ted leaned into the front seat and took out a goaz bandage and tossed it to Devin. "Rap it with that it should hold for awhile. Also....." He took the gun from Devin "Your not gonna penetrate shit with this shit" He pointed the gun to a stop sign and shot off a round making a small hole if not just a dent. "Here take this..." he tossed his Glock 18 to Devin "Its automatic and its got full metal jackets inside, can blow the head off a fucking horse (obviously it couldnt but he said it to get the point through.)" Ted pointed towards the backdoor "so get in guys" He looked at the little girl "Lets go sweety you get to ride up front with me." He then noticed he horde running towards them and then saw the kid sprint up and onto a fire escape like spiderman. "HEY!!!" Ted yelled but there was no time. "GET IN!!!!" Ted grabbed the girl and sat her down into the passenger seat as he as well got into the driver seat and revved the engine.

Madison, again, flinched when she felt hands on her. She wasnt used to anyone being pleasant to her lately, and it was traumatizing for a young mind. Jazz, as if sensing the cops authority, backed up some and let him speak to his owner.
"Hey cutie, lets see im guessing your all alone....look sweety its way to dangerous out here on your own. Im gonna take you to a nice little place that is safe. Please come with me." The words he spoke clicked into her mind, and she took his hand willingly. Jazz followed closely, keeping her samwiched in between the cops legs and his side so that no zombie could get to her easily. When the cop directed her she jumped into the seat, allowing Jazz to sit halfway in the floor board and halfway on the seat. He was just such a huge dog. From out the window Jazz glared at the man he had bitten, and let out a deep growl when he got anywhere close to Madison. Devin had obviously stuck a wrong chord in the dog, and he wasnt going to be forgiven anytime soon. Trying to calm her dog Maddy patted his head, giving Devin nervous looks. He had saved her, but it was quite clear (even to a child) that he didnt care for her, nor did he care whether she lived or died.
