All I really want is for you to use some common sense when making your post and to stay within the limits of the basic forum and roleplaying guidelines. If you can't do that, then don't even bother joining, okay? ---PLOT--- The years is 2059/2062* and the age of Kira has become nothing more than an extremely grim story of history, but it could easily be brought back up from the past as four black notebooks fell from the sky, landing in locations scattered far and wide. Despite being so far apart from each other, they were all within easy reach of some human or another, but what will happen next? Only time will tell. ---LINKS--- ---OPENING POST--- Colton walked back into the apartment building just in time to avoid becoming deaf, once again, due to the blaring of police, fire, and ambulance sirens as he thought, What is with people in this city, I wish that things were more quiet like they were before we moved before entering the elevator which was empty because not many people seemed to want to go to the top floor. Pressing the "10" button to get his floor he decided to take a look through the notebook that fell, but only did a quick flip through the pages without looking at the cover, thinking that it looked the same front and back. As the digital floor indicator started to tick back words he still held the notebook in his hand, 30…29…28…27 the display showed as he keep descending floor by floor until it finally stopped at his floor and the doors opened. Upon watching reaching his door, he pulled out his key, unlocked the door, and entered the apartment, Alright, he thought as he enter his room and turned on the TV, Lets see what crap happened now. Meanwhile in the Shinigami Realm, Skullsoul was watching the human with a slight bit of sadness as he asked was hoping that he would do something else besides pick it up, flip through the book, and head to spot of isolation, Well, he's real fun, he thought before jump through the portal and slowly flying towards the human's position before seeing a massive fire and seeing a young boy with the name of Emanuel Wolff floating above his head sneaking away from a massive collection of humans that all appeared to attempting to figure out what was going on, This is where he should be the Shinigami thought before continuing on his way to meet the finder of the notebook. |

| Freak on a Leash Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Welshland | ((I'ma get Zoe in later)) A short, petite, in fact, girl was standing, alone, watching the black water swirl mercilessly below her. She still has so many years, Kikkur though to himself, as he watched the notebook spiral to the ground. Two cars passed, neither seeing Kikkur nor acknowledging the girl deliberating above the angry water. The notebook hit the concrete, and the girl started, looking quickly upwards, trying to figure out where it had fallen from. Her hair whipped across her jaw. Gingerly, she took it, looking around for pontential witnesses. She opened the very first page. The human whose name is written in this note shall die. Her eyes widened in surprise, and for a moment, she was hopeful; she quickly disillusioned herself. Flipping through the empty pages, she laughed to herself. "Death Note...who thought that up?" she said, aloud, knowing no-one would hear her. "Don't ask me," The girl started again, whipping around in an instant, and clapping her hand over her mouth. "Holy--what the hell! What?!" she tried to scream, but it was futile seeing as she hadher hand over her mouth. "I'm Kikkur, that's my Death Note. I'm charmed to meet you," said the shinigami cheerfully, holding out his hand to shake. Last edited by hayley; 07-04-2009 at 06:41 PM. Reason: Not long enough, me thinks. |

| Ignorance is Bliss Join Date: May 2009 Location: Detroit, Michigan | They’re all disgraces to the rest of us Shinigami, what were they thinking dropping their books here? Even within his own mind, his voice had a crackling tone to it, as if he hadn’t used his voice in a long time, which was true, but had sounded like that even before his self-commissioned solitude. Meti had just entered the human realm, taking one last look into the darkness of his own before the portal closed up completely. Not having talked to the other Shinigami in centuries, he wanted to find out what the hell was going through their minds when they decided to give their Death Notes to humans. Four at the same time as well, this occurrence would surely bring nothing but chaos into this realm, humans grew corrupted by the power of the books too easily. For his fellow Shinigami to reduce to following around such one-minded creatures, the very idea of it was blasphemy! Why would they do such a foolish thing, for a few years of amusement? Hah, that would be rich! These pathetic human years are basically nothing to us. The scowl that seemed ever-present on Meti’s face seemed to deepen as he thought of their foolishness. The shinigami had traveled to the human world because he had nothing better to do and the motives of the others were slightly bringing out his curiosity, which wasn’t acceptable in his opinion. His own foolish curiosity kept bothering him, not willing to let up until it was satisfied with the answers that it craved. Glossy, almost pure white eyes began looking around, as if searching for the others. Suddenly, the eyes stopped moving and he began floating in a random direction, finding what he was looking for. ~~~ A dark haired human was humming a nameless tune as he walked down the street, just having left his company’s building. Josh had never been one for working hard, but his charming attitude had gotten him a high paying job, something that he was grateful for. When he and his friend had started the business, he had known next to nothing about computers, but that changed rather quickly as they started producing them at a large scale. Being around the production of the technologies had increased his knowledge of it exponentially, he had also spent a lot of time talking with the workers there, which also was a great help with gaining knowledge. Now, he was more or less an expert on computers, which he was glad for because he probably wouldn’t have lasted long in the business if he still knew nothing. A smile appeared on the man’s face, giving him a look that suited him well, one that he always had while in a good mood. Since it was still in the daytime hours, he decided to stop and take a break, something that he felt like he deserved seeing as how he and been cooped up in an office since early that morning. Seeing one of his favorite street side cafés, he decided to stop and take a coffee break while relaxing at one of the many tables they had set up. Ordering a regular coffee with cream, he went and sat down, enjoying the warm beverage while he took a short rest. While sitting there, he noticed how his attire was a little more business-orientated, something that made him stand out in the crowd a bit. Although, the rich man couldn’t really care less at the moment as he indulged himself on the drink that would slightly help him get through the remainder of the day. | Living Dead Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: New York | Kihaku had finally been set free from the overbearing shinigami world to a new one the human world. "Free at last I can smell the death amongst this god forsaken place" Kihaku said as he looked around the bustling town”. Kihaku looked around some more eyeing a piece of licorice candy in a store window. He walked into the store using his shinigami eyes he scanned the store clerk identifying the name of this human. Kihaku left the store handfuls of licorice candy shoving handfuls down his throat “Gargh...I love licorice” he said as the store clerk behind him was dead on the counter. After his little spree of killing for the simple indulgence of candy he wondered if there was anymore shinigami he knew of that might have made it to this world. Kihaku figured to get attention from other shinigami he would have to cause a global epidemic. Kihaku went to a park in the town seeing kids having a wonderful time and people interacting with one another. “Time to DIE” he said as he began to run ramped becoming wealthy of peoples names. People began to die left to right from different causes of death. “Well this should cause some trouble, Now we wait for someone to come” Kihaku said as he laughed manically waiting for attention. |

| Senior Member Join Date: Sep 2008 Location: UK | “I… is it done?” A concerned voice asked from Drew’s right. “Almost Mr Yamagawa; I’m about to restart the mainframe.” Drew said in a calm voice, turning away from the screen of letters and numbers to face the very rich man, who was paying for his time and services; before turning back to the screen. “Then we’ll see if my analysis of the virus was correct” He said, lacing his voice with an ever so slight – but noticeable – darker tone. The monitor in front of the men flashed to darkness for a few seconds; turning back on a with a series of high pitched beeps accompanying a flood of information. “D… did it work?” The concerned voice asked again. Drew pushed a huge grin of success across his face as he turned back to the man. “All network functionality 100%. No sign of any effects of the virus. So in short… yes!” “F… Fantastic!” the man proclaimed, moving to shake Drew’s hand excitedly. “Your installation fee will be wired to you immediately!” Drew humbly thanked the man, before giving a demonstration of the software to him and a number of his higher ranking employees; before, finally, handing the man a large bound document. “This documentation explains everything I have just gone over, as well as details of the programs development and the analysis of the ‘shinigami virus’. Its written in both Japanese and English so your employees at all of your branches should have no trouble reading it. If you should require further assistance however, you can make an appointment to see me at my usual software support rate.” “Yes, of course. Thank you again.” The man said as he accepted the document, bowing as he did. Drew bowed politely back, before making his leave. -‘these people are fools.’ He thought ‘Development four hundred thousand American, instillation one hundred thousand? Why don’t they just let me print money! As he left the large office building and began walking down the busy street to his hotel – paid for by the Yamagawa Corporation - he allowed himself a sly smile. -‘Next time I’ll have to make the virus a tad more vicious. Practically every company in the world is worried about this one, but I only got five of them crying at my doorstep! Yes, next time I wont settle for any less than 15!’ As he came to busy road, Drew looked around while waiting for the pedestrian lights to turn green: he spied a nice looking side street café. He thought for a moment: he was quite thirsty. Explaining the intricate complexity and beauty of his software and what he ‘thought’ of the ‘shinigami virus’ to a bunch of half brained executives had left him quite parched. He made his was over to the café; purchased a large mug of tea and took a seat at an empty table, placing his light brown laptop bag down on it. Beginning to drink the tea; he glanced around at the other patrons of the café. Most of them seemed like normal boring people with nothing special about them at all. The only person that stood out at all was a man in a suit and Drew guessed that he would be little more than an office executive at best. |

Death Note?! he found himself shouting inside of his mind, What the heck, I though that it was just something the government made up. Meanwhile at the still burning building, a man wearing a set of red and black clothing with markings on his face was causally walking away only to have to make a sudden route change when he noticed police heading his direction as they just kept on going once clear out of sight he walked casually past a cafe, stopped, and got a coffee to go. Skullsoul was approaching the human who picked up his notebook, and discovered that the he dropped it as soon as he noticed the cover and decided to let things die out before hearing the cries and calls of dying, panicked humans and flew over to discover Kihaku, "Well, well, well, what do we have here?" he asked the other Shinigami. |

| Freak on a Leash Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: Welshland | Violet looked down with wide eyes at the monster's boney hand. Hesitantly, she took it in hers; it was tangible, at least. I've snapped, she thought. I've actually gone insane... Kikkur grinned, maniacally, shaking her hand vigorously. "So! You want to keep it? It's all yours, if you want it." he said loudly, practically bouncing with excitement. "What are you? Are you real?" Vioet asked, incredulous, scrutinising every aspect of this monster which was standing before her. "I'm a...shinigami!" he exclaimed, drawing out the word 'a'. "I'm a god of death! I'm from the shinigami realm, and I've dropped my book and come to the human world!". He said it as though he were advertising a prize on a game show, beaming throughout. "Okay..." Violet turned, still clutching the notebook, and began to walk away. Kikkur popped up in front of her. "Where ya off to, little missy? You still have my Death Note there, see?" "Leave me alone, you don't exist." she muttered, hoping no-one would see her talking to herself. Kikkur reeled, then grabbed her shoulders, pulling what was supposed to be puppy-dog eyes. "I am real!" Violet stopped trying to walk away, and gave in with a sigh. "If I admit you're real, what will you do?" she asked. Kikkur released his grip on her shoulders and flew high into the air, turning somersaults as he went. He descended, and leaned over so his narrow eyes were level with her large ones. "I'd say, 'give me half the years of your life, and you get to keep the book'" Violet didn't even consider the offer. "It's done," she said, hastily shaking his hand. "Have you got a pen on you?" |

| Ignorance is Bliss Join Date: May 2009 Location: Detroit, Michigan | The sound of screams and panic caught Meti’s attention, the disturbance actually being his destination. The grey shinigami had been traveling to the general direction of the slight chaos, his instincts telling him that it was the power of a fellow shinigami that was killing the humans. Although he couldn’t determine who exactly was causing the ruckus, he wasn’t surprised to see that it was Kihaku slaughtering the people. The daunting form of the other was easy enough to distinguish from his airborne position, but the other figure that approached the first was harder to identify. Wanting to find out who the newcomer was, he descended from his airborne position and landed next to the others. From his new range of sight, the identity of the other shinigami became quite apparent. Meti scowled at the two before his crackling voice filled the air. “Kihaku and Skullsoul, what brings you two into the human realm?” The question wouldn’t show his dislike of the ones that dropped their books; he thought that they’d be more likely to tell the truth if he didn’t explain his disproval of them just yet. His white eyes made him appear to be blind at first glance, but if one looked closely enough, they’d be able to see the barely visible pupils staring, almost glaring at the other shinigami as he waited for his answer. ~~~ Josh had been looking out the window idly while sipping on his coffee, not really paying any mind to the other customers around him. However, out of the corner of his eye, he noticed a man set a laptop case onto their table, drinking their own beverage. His company, Leap, had just begun the production of laptops and other smaller technologies along with the desktop computers that they had been making for a couple years. Maybe I should go speak with him; he may be able to teach me something. Although, it would be rude of me to interrupt his time. Thinking over each point, he eventually gave into his desire to speak with the other. “Hello, I’m Josh Nickels, do you mind if I sit with you?” His trademark ‘good guy’ smile was set upon his face once he finally approached the other’s table and addressed them. “I was wondering if you would like to talk about your laptop, I’m quite interesting in learning anything about them that I can.” Josh’s blue eyes shined merrily while speaking, something that he did unconsciously, as if it appeared because of his positive demeanor. He was well aware that it was weird for a person to randomly walk up to another and ask about their laptop, but he couldn’t find it in himself to care. |

| Senior Member Join Date: Jun 2009 Location: You want to know, why…? | The more Colton stared at it, the more he began to wonder if he was asleep as he pinched himself only to let out an, "Ouch!" before rubbing his cheek, Okay, I'm not dreaming, but… he thought before taking a better look through the notebook to discover a sheet of rules and reading it over, The human whose name is… his eyes hurriedly ran across the page, …next 6 minutes and 40 seconds? Shaking his head he sighed and then turned on the TV which was still talking about the fire that happened, but without any leads as to who did it they couldn't show a face or give a name resulting in nobody to test it out, unless he did it on somebody close to him. However, he didn't want to believe it one bit as he frowned, grabbed a backpack, stuffed the notebook inside of it, and started to make his way to school, this time taking the elevator. ~~~ At the café, the man was still waiting for his coffee when he sat down at the table immediately in front of Drew with a sigh before drumming on the table with a little bit of impatiences before glancing at his shoes and tying it. ~~~ Nearby the park, Skullsoul pointed to 'his' DeathNote fibbing, "I only came here to have some fun, so far I haven't found anyone that really worthy of having such a power as our," he paused, "However, I have seen noticed a rather quiet boy in this mess that might be able to resist the urge to go crazy like that boy Ryuk was stuck with for the longest." ~~~ {If you read his profile he dropped the one owned to him, but found another notebook that somebody dropped} |
