Digital Invasion
It is the present day. Mankind believes they have conquered this Earth, professing themselves as the masters of all living creatures. Little do they know, that just beyond the veil lies another world, created through a combination of data and interdimensional fluxes. This is the Digital World. But the veil is deteriorating, and soon Digimon will begin to appear all over the world. Unfortunately, most Digimon aren't very happy about losing their world. So they've decided they're going to take ours. But in the face of this threat is a prophecy. A small amount of Digieggs are said to bond with several special humans. If their power will be enough to hold back the dark tide has yet to be seen.
The first materializations, and the destined ones coinceded in the state of Maine, in a remote camp by Bottle Lake. The following events start a mere 5 minutes before the first matierializations.

Z was laying in a patch of grass, enjoying the summer day. The cool breeze brought the smells of the lake to his nose, and he took a strong whiff.

Zeik frowned, "More mud... Yay." He said quietly to himself. His movement through the forest had been a pain in the arse. He had felt like a walk, and then got lost after about 10 minutes. He sat down on a log that didn't look to be completely covered in moss. He looked up at the sky through the thick pine trees and sighed. "Anyone out there!?" he yelled as loud as he could, hopeing to get someone to come looking for him.

Ben sat in a nearby tree. His grandparents' camphouse was about a mile down the road. Below him, cloaked in a bush, was the ATV he'd gotten for his birthday. The air today had a strange buzz about it, and Ben realized all the bird calls had gone silent. A lone loon call carried from over the lake, piercing the silence. Ben felt very eerie. Something was about to happen.

James was somewhere in the forest at the camp. He too had felt something amiss in the air and followed his instincts. He saw a blue card on the ground as if someone dropped it. "That's odd, did someone drop this blue card? I'll show it to the others," he mused to himself as he started backtracking.

Chris sighed as he approached the edge of the lake smiling as he looked at his reflection. "This may be the most boring summer ever....but at least it's peaceful I suppose" he said to himself picking up a stone he skiped it across the lake. Smiling at the stones distance he sat down looking at the murky waters of the lake as they only seemed clear near the edge. Wiping his head and looking up at the sun he sighed again. "What's with the heat....maybe it has something to do with me being this close to the lake..." he shrugged and returned his gaze to the lake and grinned for a second. "Wonder if anyone else is around" he muttered laying his head back as he stared at the sky and watched the clouds pass. Well it doesn't really matter...I'm fine alone right now...alone and free to do as I please he thought closing his eyes for a moment.

As Z led Zeik out of the woods, he felt he stepped on something. He lifted his foot up to find a strange device.
"Hello...what's this?" Z picked up the device, and looked closely at it. OOC: What kind of Digivices are we using?

Wait a sec, instinct told me to pack my Digimon cards to camp. Why didn't I think of it before? thought James as he got his card reader out, "Here goes nothing."
James swiped his blue card through the reader and that's when the mother of weird things happened. His card reader morphed into a blue and white D-Power and it was pointing James in a different direction to where he was going. "That's odd, it's pointing west. Aren't compasses supposed to point north?" he asked himself. He decided to follow where his morphed card reader led him and before he knew it, he found a strange looking egg on a tree stump. The egg was red and it looked like it was on fire. James had heard about Easter egg hunts, but dismissed that thought when he noticed the egg had a spike poking out of it. The egg also had a sun-like symbol on it. "I may as well take this with me, I don't think there's any more of these in the world," said James to himself. When he lifted the egg, it glowed and morphed into a card called 'Digiegg of Courage'. That wasn't the only thing that happened, a small blue and white dragon known as DemiVeemon appeared from where the egg was and jumped into James' arms shouting, "Finally, it's you!" "Okay, this is way past weird. Who or what are you?" asked James. "I'm DemiVeemon and I have waited forever for you!" answered DemiVeemon. "I'm James and I guess we're partners," introduced James. The duo backtracked through the forest until James saw someone at a lake. "Hey!" crowed James.

IC: Z looked closely at the strange blue card in his hand as he walked out near the lake. Quote:
