Rose listened to the music for a while, then turned to see the musician was a boy. She gave him a quick smile and nod, then headed back up the street to the shop. She paused by a stand that was selling bows. She gazed longingly at one that was made of a sleek dark wood. "Maybe in a few weeks," she told herself, forcing herself to turn away. She finished the last few bites of the bun, savoring the taste, then pulled her hair back with pins. She took another breath of fresh air before returning into the sweltering heat of the shop.

Walking through a few streets she felt completely alienated, a little frightened by the unknown surroundings she kept telling herself she'd be fine. Turning into another street she seemed to have stepped into the main market place, which was intervened by many other little alleyways and big streets ending and starting here. It was very busy, hence she had to make her way through the crowded with a little force, something she wasn't used to either. Getting hungrier by she looked around for a place to get something to eat. 'Oh a baker' she thought, walking over she asked for 2 croissants, handing him 2 coins she walked on eating away on the food she just got. Needless to say she ate em away within a few minutes. While walking she took in the scenery of all those different people, from seemingly everywhere, gathered all at one place. When she noticed a guy who had just finished playing some music and was counting his earnings, walking into an Inn. Lenalee had just come into town, not knowing a soul and cash been something she hadn't much of she decided to find a shelter outside somewhere... 'A tree will do' she thought. Opposite the Inn there was a big old Oak tree which looked like it would be good enough to sleep under for the coming night. Walking up to it, she sat down, leaning her back and head up against the cold hard bark of the tree. Looking up at the sky through the leaves she felt somewhat nostalgic, thinking of the home and the old lady she had left behind. Smiling a faint smile before she closed her eyes, she'd fall asleep soon enough.

Alex spent a few minutes in the inn and he soon got bored, getting up again and making his way out of the inn. He stretched out after he got outside and smiled some, looking around and spotting another girl sitting under a nearby tree, he was abit surprised as he had seen a fair few girls and women that he hadn't ever noticed before, maybe he was just very unobservant about the opposite gender. He decided to be his normal self and went back to playing his flute, now playing another soothing tune which transferred to a happy, cheerful song half way through. His music spread out through the street and he gains only a little bit of attention from passers by this time, but any attention lifted his spirits. |

| Such a pretty song... thought Diana as she slowly strolled down the road, soon finding herself drawn toward the musician like a fish lured to bait, the light and melodic tune soothing and pleasing to the ears and enlightening to the spirit. No doubt this was most likely a Graceling on the flute, the music next to enchanting. Soon Diana found herself among the small crowd of onlookers, she did not struggle to take a look at the musician, opting only to listen to the melody and let it flow through her ears and possibly into her soul itself. Slowly a small smile formed on the young unfortunate graceling's lips, this music truly was something enlifting after all. But as soon as her happiness had started the music had ended and Diana found herself once more in the real world of cruelty and injustices. However, as the crowd dispersed Diana found herself to be one of the few still standing near the musician, and then once again surprised herself as she followed him back into the Inn, the innkeeper not taking notice of her return, as she was busy with other patrons. Diana sat at a table adjacent to Alex's own, and quietly peered on as he began to play again. At least if she could be distracted by this music, she would feel relieved, it was a good feeling that she really was not quite used to. So, discarding the idea of taking a stroll, Diana simply stayed and listened, her eyes silently beginning to form tears of joy as the music continued.

| "We're not even close..." Ranald whispered weakly to himself as he untied a crimson stained apron from his neck. He slowly walked out of the room, not bothering to speak to any of his attendants standing around the large wooden table. The older man then stopped at the doorway and turned around for a few moments. Rubbing the silvered scruff on his chin, he watched his people place two eyeballs into a jar of yellow liquid. They then covered the pale, chilled body with a sheet. With a quiet sigh, Mr. Burby walked out of the room. While he was walking down a vast hallway, Ranald's eyes gazed from one wall to the other. The walls in his townhouse were covered in different art pieces and collectibles, but none of them 'meant' anything. The only thing that the man could think about was how the Graced people came to be that way - and if there was a way to prevent a potential gracling from developing such an unfair advantage over the common man. And of course, if one grace could be prevented, would he then know enough to mutate a non-graced into a gracling? So many thoughts raced through his mind until one of his attendants came up to his side and began to speak. "Sir... It is rumored that there was a recent assassination attempt on Princess Rosaria's life - it was a Black Cloak contract." At that moment, Ranald stopped mid-stride and turned to the younger gentleman. "The princess, you say? How intriguing... And this attempt, was it successful?" "No sir, I'm not aware of the details, but she wasn't k-killed." A wide smile creeped its way across the wrinkled face of Ranald. "Well then, I must get in touch with our good friends over at the Black Cloak. Perhaps I can persuade them to allow me take her off their hands. More than royalty flows through her veins, and I plan to uncover the mystery!" |

| Giotto heard a strange noise while walked down a shorcut he sometimes took. Curiousity getting the better of him, he wandered away from the path to his house and towards a more grassy area. The wordless song, he named it, sounded like such a sad melody. He passed the shrubs and the trees to go find the sound like a moth flyings towards a bright flame; whenever he heard music Giotto couldn't help but become attracted to it. He always wondered if it was because if he was graced with the ability to dance. Of course Giotto couldn't even remember when it settled but according to his mother, it randomly appeared when he was trying to get her attention. As he walked closer towards the song, which had abruptly transformed into a happy tune, Giotto pondered as to why in the world he hadn't been found by the Black Cloaks. He'd had hid grace since a child after all...but it was quite difficult to think such unhappy thoughts now that the noise sounded happy. Giotto continued down the grassy path, the sound's volume increasing with each step, and soon his colorful eyes saw a girl amongst a patch of pretty flowers. A faint smile crossed his face and the affable boy decided to approach her, not really caring that he had a grace. If people didn't want to speak to him then he would just simply leave and he would act the same towards this girl as well. "Hello."he called out, taking a few steps forward and walking to where she could see him. It would be quite rude to not look at someone when having a conversation, after all. "I couldn't help but be attracted by your voice; I apologize if I'm bothering you."he said politely, simply wanting to compliment her.

Woken up by the song, she blinked a little confused before she could focus her eyes upon the source. A somewhat happy tune, and it was the same guy from before ... smiling half in daze she started to hum to the tune, then an old folk song came to her mind 'the old lady used to sing a song to this sort of tune' she thought, getting up slowly she made her way a littler closer towards the musician... As she stood there, she couldn't help it but sing, the melody itself was so beautifully played that it almost seemed like the words were just put into her throat, making her sing that old song, first just silently but as the melody went on it drove further into her soul and wrapped her into a wonderful warm aura, hence she started to sing, just like she used to sing, from her entire diaphragm. She felt herself slowly losing her mind within the melody and song, it almost felt like all her worries had flown away, but then a suppressed memory- just one picture coming up in her minds eye made her feel like her throat was closing up on her. Taking a deep breather she finished the last verse of the song she knew and stood there for a moment. The people had been staring at her, and it seemed like it was a different sort of stare... 'Have they noticed that I am graced' she thought... of course they had. Quickly walking back up to the tree, she clasped to her little purse of belongings and sat back down. Her mood somehow changed a little but nevertheless the song had made her feel a little at home in this new town.

Alex finished playing music after a short while, having not minded the girl that was singing along to his tune even if it didn't have any words. As he finished he looked around, smiling to the people who were listening. "I'll be playing again in a few hours." He smiled again and then put his flute away, not checking to see if there was anyone still looking at him before sighing and talking to himself under his breath.

| Lola's little tune cut off abruptly, when she heard a stranger's voice. This was her alone time. No one was supposed to hear her sing. It was something private she kept to herself. Her own little secret. Having someone else hear it was almost as if that someone had torn something precious from her. Not even her parents had heard her sing. They knew she was graced, but Lola had denied them the permission to hear her voice. And this stranger had done it without even asking. But all displeasure seemed to vanish when she heard his apology. Something about him put her at ease, and he seemed pleasant enough. He couldn't be harmful, and his intentions must have been intentional. Lola flashed a grin at the new stranger. "Don't worry, you're not bothering. And I'm glad that my voice is pretty enough to attract people." As she spoke, she plucked the nearest fllower and twirled it around absentmindedly. It was a bad habit of hers, having to be moving around when someone was talking to her. She was rarely still. "So what are you doing out here?" She added, hoping for a conversation. |
