Matt sighed as he lay back on the roof of his new home. It wa small and a bit shabby, but still; it was his. At least until he found someone to rent out the other room to. He wouldn't have any chance of paying the bills by himself. He gazed up at the stars, wondering how long before someone answered he ad he had put in the daily paper. The knocking woke Matt up, he hadn't realised that he'd fallen asleep on the roof. He glanced down at the visitor. It wasn't someone he knew, so that meant it was probably a potential lodger. He called down.
"Be down in a second" he lowered himself down from the roof and brushed himself down, yawning slightly as he did. He then turned and extended his hand. "Matthew Hyde, feel free to call me Matt, how canI help you?" he asked with a friendly tone. |

A voice sounded above her and she jumped slightly, not expecting anyone to be home at the moment. She had been about to turn around and walk away. She simply nodded and watched as he moved over the side of the roof and allowed himself to drop down onto the ground. Her left hand reached up and brushed her brown hair back from her eyes as he brushed himself off.
When he extended his hand and he introduced himself, Persephone gave a white-toothed smile. "Pleasure to meet you. I am Persephone Monroe, and I saw your ad in the paper." When she pulled her hand back, she took the section from her back pocket and showed it to him. "I've been looking for another place to stay for awhile now. How much is it to rent the other room?"

Matt smiled as he glanced at the page. She seemed nice enough, well it is impossible to judge someone straight away but for a first impression it could have been a lot worse.
"It all depends on how much you're abe to pay, but it won't be more than 40% of the monthly bills" he answered. |

Persephone rolled her shoulders lightly as she folded up the piece of newspaper that she had cut out a couple days ago when she saw the ad. "I am sure I can handle that. I have a job at the gas station just a few blocks from here. It's a heck of a walk from where I live right now. But it pays well so I don't see a problem with money."
After the section of the newspaper was placed back into her back pocket, her eyes glanced around and then towards the house. "You wouldn't mind if I asked to see the room would you? I promise I won't break anything or take too much of your time." She grinned to show she was being sincere. Perhaps when he was on the roof, he was fixing something and she did not want to steer him away from his business.

Persephone gave a nod and another smile, readjusting the strap of her purse and patting her cell phone to make sure it was still there. He allowed her inside easily and she slipped past him. Follow the corridor around the corner and it was straight ahead, that was how he had directed her.
She followed the instructions and when she opened the door, she found a bed and a window and a night stand. Well she had stuff to bring it in the spice it up a bit. It could definitely use a bit of color, like drapes on the window and pictures and such things she could bring with her. Moving over to the bed, she set her purse down and laid back on it, testing it out a bit.

"If you want to move in then hs room would be yours to do what you want with" Matt sated as he came in through the doorway, "If you want it painted you just need to ask"
He decided not to mention that te reason he would have plenty of time or ths was that he was currently looking or a job and only had enough money to last the first four months. He was sure he'd have a job before then.

Matt's voice made her lift her head from how she was positioned. Quickly, Persephone sat up on the bed and smoothed out her shirt before laughing a little. "Well, I'm liking the room how it is. It just needs a small dab of color. Some pictures on the wall would be good or on the nightstand." Her shoulders gave a small roll as she watched him for a long moment.
"If you want it painted, though, I definitely wouldn't mind doing it. I'm thinking three walls a baby blue color and the fourth wall, a navy blue just to make the room seem bigger." She sat back on her hands and looked back over to him after she had scoped the room. "What do you think?"
