Cadaver grew bored wating for the human commanders reply.

" Slaughter them all!" He commanded. the demons ripped all 17 million of the humans apart, eating them, and giggiling as the humans cried out in pain.

2 hours later, and the demons were returning to the ships.

Cadaver, once again, attempted to make contact with camulus.

"Camulus, I have a high-paying job for you. If you accept please travel to Bec. I will make sure no harm comes to you there,"

The fleet made for the planet Bec. Cadaver made mincemeat of a captured human, after he had tortured him to the brink of death.

"I love a good-tasty human," He laughed, tossing the human's arms to Slit, who happily munched away at them, grateful of the treat. He rarely got to battle, Cadaver needed him on board the Lord Loss . the closest he got to ripping bodies limb to limb was in the slaughterhouse.

Soban was retina scanned and allowed into the Palace at the gate, the halls were quiet aside from the clicking of shoes of senior officers walking about to the offices of the heads of the Marines, Navy and the Guard, The Marines and Navy Answered to Voss and the Empress, the Guard, only to the Emperor. He then heard heavy clanking footsteps behind him, Soban turned and saw that it was Artiel'antares, High Commander of the Inquisitorial Guard. High being literal, he was over 8 feet tall with his ancient green armor. In his hand, held by his wings, was a less majestic being. The teenage, chubby Coutl named Xicohtencatl, and he looked angry, "Let me go, Artiel! You know I'm not a spy!" Artiel sighed and stared at the creature, "It is only that... Friendship with the Empress that keeps me from gutting your over-stuffed belly, now! I've told you to stay out of the Central Intelligence Room!" Xico struggled more, undeterred by the threat, "Kida said I could! I wanted to look at the Prophets! And I'm not 'over-stuffed'! I'm just... Plump." Soban chuckled, "Artiel, I'm sure Xico meant no harm... There's no need to 'Cleanse, Purge and Kill' him." Artiel's face turned red, "You're no better, Soban! Our new Empress is being... Corrupted by her.... Relationship with this...Runt!" Xico growled, Soban laughed, "Why don't you let me take the... Runt... Back to Kida'gadesch, I'll tell her of your complaint and she'll decide if its valid." Artiel shoved Xico into Soban's face, who barely had time to catch him, "If I catch him again, I'm throwing him out of the palace!"

Artiel walked off, leaving Soban and Xico in the hall, alone. Soban put the green-scaled Coutl down and knelt down to face him, "Xico... You can't go around, walking into restricted areas and lying. It's really dangerous and could disrupt alot of things. And treason isn't reversible even by Kida." Xico shivered at the thought of the weakness in his supposed Political Immunity, "I-I just feel so useless and..." Soban patted him, "Just behave when you come to play. And time it right... You started wandering because she was busy." Xico nodded, his eyes beginning to tear over, "Its like she's getting bored of me... Like running her empire is funner." Soban put his arm over Xico, "I'm 100% certain thats not true... Look, I have to go talk to her, go home, for now." Xico nodded and walked off, toward the gate. Soban walked down the hall, to destiny.

"This is terrible!" Kida'gadesch exclaimed as she viewed the distress call, "When was it recieved?" Soban looked at the date on his computer quickly, "About 4 hours ago. The STC lagg may make it 8." Kida nodded, "Its obvious they're under attack... And that they pleaded for help... We can't just do nothing..." Soban nodded, "Might I suggest that we not send an entire expeditionary force, maybe a single ship, to avoid a confrontation." Kida looked at the map, "Yeah, Soban. Once the Forward Unto Dawn is ready, I'll send an Imperial Marine and an Inquisitorial Guard Companies on your ship and we'll head out." Soban nodded, "Okay... W-what! We!?" Kida nodded, "Yeah! commanding expeditions like this are boring here. I wanna have fun!" Soban's thoughts suddenly went to Xico, 'So does he...' He thought, "Yes, my Emperor." Soban then walked back to the door, "I'll inform you when the preparations are complete."

Meanwhile on one of the asteroid bases one of the skeleton crews picks up a faint message on an unmonitored channel "Camulus, I have a high-paying job for you. If you accept please travel to Bec. I will make sure no harm comes to you there,". "I wonder if their talking about Camalus our esteemed leader" pondered the tech.

30mins or so later a messenger runs up to Camalus and hands him a data pad.
Camalus plays it and stands their scratching his head thinking, "I wonder who is offering me the job and what it is, i think i shall send out a small survey ship and let them talk as my envoy though before they make a decision they shall ask me what I have decided".

With that Camalus barks out an order and a junior member of the crew runs up and salutes. "I have a mission for you if your interested", the crew member replies enthusiastically "Id love to Sir it would be an honour" Camalus spoke to the crew member in length. An hour or so later a small survey ship departed from the fleet heading to Bec to find out what the job would consist off and who was doing the hiring.

Elsewhere on board one of the engineers swore "Fricken Hell i hate the bloody maintenance bots, they always get in the bloody way. I just fixed that blimmen panel now I've got to do it all over again, why must we have them running 24/7 its a merc ship not a spotless military ship", the engineer paused for a minute then continued on "best not moan to much the orders for the clean ship come from camalus himself don't want to disappear". The maintenance bot just went on with it's business untroubled cleaning up the rubbish and fixing the easy odds and ends around the ship.

Supreme Commander Arafin sat at the bridge of the Claymore in his life-suit, staring out at the stars. He watched them ever so silently, waiting. Waiting for so long... He was waiting for the scout vessels he had sent out, the Dirk and the Stiletto. As he stared out at the stars, for a small fraction of a second, his eyes seemed to be filled with hope. But as he thought back across his life, they returned to their old, world-weary state. He moved a reptilian hand over to the commander, a human named Shalkova. Most of his crew were human, come to think of it most of the Xietan Military were humans or crossbreeds, and Shalkova the cold was no exception. The Supreme Commander's eyesa widened as he saw the two ships return on the horizon, but again, the look of hope in his eyes dropped as he noticed that the Stiletto was nearly totally destroyed and the Dirk was damaged horrifically.
'Shalkova, get the Katana to pick those ships up now!''
A scarred face flashed comms screen, revealing Shalkova's son and the Captain of the Dirk, Zavim Sarovic.
'Captain? What the hell happened, all you were doing was recon on Vein!'
'The prime minister's orders interve-'
'What orders?'
'We were told to incite a rebellion sir. We were to arm the populace and help them overthrow the demons, but we never stood a chance when their ships turned up... We had no choice but to flee and leave the citizens of the planet to their deaths!'
'You goddamn coward! Get onto a ship up here as soon as you bloody can!'
Arafin snarled. The primeminister had no business interfering in military missions, especially if his orders could have started a galactic war between the Xietans and Lord Cadaver's demons. He looked down upon Xarrim itself, the ship facing the dark side of the planet. So many people, sleeping away happily... And it was his duty to protect them. The demons were an intolerable menace, and if nobody else was to ut a stop to them, then for the safety of the rest of the universe, the Xietans damn well would.
'Shalkova. Get me a commlink to the Ter'ran Emperor, immediately. I think we may have need of an ally in these coming few months.

(( By the way, cuz I couldn't be arsed posting this in OOC, the xietans look pretty much like the Scaarj from unreal and UT. ))

The Demonica fleet approached Bec, landing in the capital city of Ether. Cadaver seen a small ship approach Bec. "Must be Camulus," He said.

A demon came rushing towards him as he disembarked the ship "Sir, we have reports of an enemy threat speeding towards Vein!" It informed him. Cadaver smiled " Do not worry. I have it all covered. Mabye one day these people will realise that we are not all 'vile' creatures, sadly these lesser demons seem to prove me wrong," He said, sighing.

Default The Double Blind

Everything had progressed smoothly right up until the moment the second transport pod made to depart. Having already secured the Restin technology on the first which was in low orbit awaiting confirmation that the deal had been finalized before breaking low orbit and heading towards the Deviant. Just as the signal was sent, "All is clear, we're good to go. Looks like we got off hitch free." the Restin's showed their true colours. The surface to orbit cannons that had been hidden within the bases exterior walls revealed themselves and laid siege to the low orbiting transport pod - it was reduced to dust within moments.

The crew aboard the grounded vessel were assaulted by the two Restin's they had been dealing with, fortunately for Maryna's foresight they had come prepare for such an event and the two Restin found themselves headless as an automated blade trap swung out from the pods entrance bay doors when the charged in.

Aboard The Deviant Maryna and her crew were already prepared for this result, they had already issued the orders to destroy the orbiting Restin vessel the moment the cannons had revealed themselves. Two more stealth vessels had emerged from the other side of the asteroid's shadow but were quickly dispatched by the orbiting fighter ship. The ground crew started to lift off and The Deivant launched a Debilitation Pulse at the military compound which temporarily disabled the cannons and allowed the ship to escape.

~

Maryna slammed her fist onto the main control panel, "We lost them!"

"Calm yourself m'lady. Considering all things, it could have been much worse." One of the crew members said comfortingly, walking towards her.

"NO!" Maryna screamed, turning her angered glare to the view screen which showed the compound coming back to life as the pulse worse off, "We haven't lost anyone in three cycles! THREE!!!"

"M'lady, the pod and fighter have boarded." A third voice pierced the tension, "where to now?"

"Have the engineers inspect the goods and turn ourselves around and get us the frell out of here." Tears were forming in her eyes as she spoke with calm determination, "I will be in my quarters." She turned on heel and quickly paced from the helm, "Lyr is in charge."

~

A few hours later

~

Maryna walked slowly back onto the bridge, "Yes Lyr, what did you summon me for?"

"Our long range scans brought something to our attention on another asteroid as we traversed the field. We have entered low orbit to investigate, it appears to be another compound." The tall silver man's angelic voice rang out.

"Restin?" Maryna's voice was monotone and empty.

"No. Something else."

Maryna moved forward and examined the image of the military compound on the view screen. It looked like it was deserted. It was mostly sunken into the surface, if not for their complicated blending of mixed technology they would never have even known it was there. "Is it as deserted as it looks?"

"No, although we only know there is something in there. It has some defensive screens and signal scramblers that prevent any other information from being gathered."

Maryna looked again to the screen and just as she went to glance away she saw something move. Looking back more carefully she confirmed her fear, it was an automated defense system and it was engaging. "Turn on all hailing frequencies, I need who ever is in there to hear this - I want the signal on every possible channel, x-ray, infrared and sound wavelengths." She paused a moment and when Lyr gave the affirmative nod spoke again, "We pose you no threat, we are but a single merchant ship. We discovered you accidentally as we fled from Restin pursuit. Again, we pose *no* threat!"

"Channel closed." Lyr spoke again, "do you think it worked?"

"It damned well better. Or we're frelled."

Incoming Call... Scanning... Priority 1... Transferring to secured networks... Please wait...Connected... Intended reciever... Kida'gadesch Septim... Transferring... Connected...

Kida fiddled with a pen on her desk while some 24 year old human screamed her heart out on her computer... Humans called her Amy Lee, an ancient musician from the human's "Old Home". Her singing was loud and rebellious, and Kida liked it. The music suddenly paused and a call request appeared on her computer. She clicked it and looked at the caller credentials, "Xietans? I wonder what they want?" She pressed the "accept call" and picked up a phone, "This is Emperor Kida'gadesch Septim, Mister... Afrin? Arakin? Ah, yes Arafin... Sorry... Is there anything I can help you with..." She hoped that her mess-up wouldn't offend this Arafin. The last time she had messed up that badly was during a confrontation with a species that valued spelling above other things. It had resulted in a 5 year war, which ended in victory for the Ter'rans but had cost several billion in military equipment.

Meanwhile...

Soban watched the shiny, refit Forward Unto Dawn land on Pier-34, at the Imperial Navy High Command. He whistled when he saw the weapon upgrades and sparkling registration. She was fitted with new Railguns, which he realized were not railguns at all, "Are those... Plasma Cannons!? I thought they were experimental." The starport manager shook his head, "Just released for military use 2 months ago... You really have been gone a long time, we had to pry those 10 year-old railguns off the hull, practically." Soban laughed, "I hope I'm not gone so long this time." The manager blinked, "You're heading out again!? Where to?" Soban raised his shoulders, "Some backwater planet, beyond our boarders. So it may be a little bit of a voyage." The manager nodded, "Good luck with that, I'm not gonna bother asking for the mission details." Soban nodded, "Classified..."

Meanwhile, a little green creature had an idea...

Xico was against a wall on the noisy landing area near the Forward Unto Dawn. He had thought out his plan carefully, and if Kida wouldn't think he was cool after this, he wasn't sure what he would do. he scampered into different bits of cover when people weren't around, a few people saw him, but dismissed it as an illusion of the heat off the landing area pavement. This was another thing Coutl didn't like about Terra Prime, it was about 300 thousand kilometers closer to its star than Coutl, allowing it have some variance but most of the surface was hotter than some deserts on Coutl, Xico had burned his claws a few times on this stunt, already. He peered out of a shadow and saw his target, a shipping container full of nothing, he scampered over to it and attached two anti-gravity chips to it, little did he know that the devices would never be able to lift the metal container in a thousand years. He then walked inside the container and prepared to use his weight to control the container and fly it around the city. The door of the container suddenly shut. Xico squeaked and ran over to the door, he could hear the voices of two Ter'rans walking off, "Call the Bot, tell it to load it..." The container suddenly shifted and Xico fell over, a loader bot had picked up the container and sauntered toward the Forward Unto Dawn. Xico cried and squeaked vainly, "Hey! Somebody let me out! Somebody let me out!!!" He heard the container be put down inside the Forward Unto Dawn's cargo bay, he also heard military vehicles driving into storage formations, and containers being stacked on all sides of the container he was in. Soon, so many containers were stacked, the sounds of preparation were silent. Xico lay alone in the darkness of the container, he reached into his backpack and took out a flashlight and what snacks he had. He looked them over, he had enough snacks to last him two weeks at most, after that, it would be a few days before he starved to death. Xico thought that it was ironic, that he was such an eat-a-matic and that he would now die of hunger. With all those "pleasant" thoughts going through his head, he curled up and fell asleep.

Supreme Commander Arafin's jaw dropped as he saw the Emperor on the comms screen. He barely managed to restrain himself from saying 'You're the emperor!?' when the screen came up. At least his reactions weren't noticable. Shalkova noticed the SC was having one of those moments, and pushed his wheelchair offscreen, smiling as if the commander of the entire Xietan military force had not just gone braindead at the sight of a young Ter'ran woman.
'I assume I am speaking to the Empress directly? Good. This is Navy Commander Rhianna Shalkova, speaking on behalf of SC Madlan Arafin.' She fixed a glance behind her and noticed that someone was pouring water on Madlan to wake him up a bit. She turned back to the screen.
'We have heard that Demons recently attacked your planet of Vein, is this true?'

Onboard the Katana
Zavim Sarovic sat with the remains of his crew in the debriefing room. four men, to be precise. As he leaned back in his chair, he noticed that the mysterious prime minister himself had appeared on the comms screen. He hadn't been paying attention to the speech. He was simply sat there chewing on a coffee stirrer, reflecting on what had happened.
'So captain, when do we leave?'
'Leave for where?'
'Weren't you listening? We're going back to Vein!' He spat the coffe stirrer on the floor and made a small gargling noise in the back of his throat, almost falling off his chair.
'WHAT!!!!!?????' He hit the floor, a shocked look on his face.
The crewmember he had been addressing rolled his eyes, or rolled his eyes as noticably as one can do when your eyes are only one colour.
'Pfft, humans, always overreacting...'

"Vein is not ruled by me, no. But it is a world where beings of a race that live in my empire, live. In order to keep the populous happy, and their loyalty strong, I must help others of their race, as I would do for Ter'rans, Coutl and other races in my empire. My people hold alot of power, even in this type of government and it is unwise to have an angry populous. Leads to anger, agression, rebellion and revolution. But that's aside the point, what about Vein?" A man came into the office and bowed, "Empress, the ship is ready for lift off. Might I suggest you buckle up." Kida nodded. She studied Rhianna's face without changeing her friendly expression, 'I wonder how they know about Vein so quickly... Their area of influence is closer, but we found out by the distress signal... Did they receive it too?'

Soban sat in his chair on the bridge of the ISS Forward Unto Dawn, "Bridge Crew Report Status!" His Cheif Engineer pressed some buttons and looked at a diagnostic screen, "Engines are primed and ready for lift off, captain! All major systems in the green!" His tactical officer spoke up now, "Weapons are fully stowed, tests are complete. All weapons ready for battle, sir! Sheilds are reading 104% and batteries fully charged, we can survive anything." His helmsman looked over, "All personnel have vacated the landing area, we are ready to taxi to Mass Driver-1, sir." The Head Technician saluted, "All cargo stowed and ready for transport, vehicles tied down and Fighters ready for scramble at any time, sir." Soban nodded, "Begin taxi.." A small truck attached itself to the front wheel of the Forward Unto Dawn's landing gear. It then, looking very comical, pulled the ship out of the pier and toward a huge ramp ramp with a track on it. The Forward Unto Dawn was attached to the Track once in position, they waited for Kida to conclude her conversation.

The first and seventh fleets were already assembled and waiting when the Ebon Angel arrived at the Andalar system, Jeanaiel having sent out deployment orders ahead of them. As the Angel slipped through the combined fleet to take position at its head, Jeanaiel entered the command deck. "Open a channel to the fleet." "Channel open." Replied the comm officer. "This is Chief Commander Jeanaiel onboard the Ebon Angel to all ships. Recent happenings in the galaxy have begun to present a threat to the Mythlar Combine. Our other fleets have been ordered to increase our nations security while we, the best the Combine has are to leave our borders and face this threat."

Pausing for a moment to let the reality of what she was saying sink in, Jeanaiel glanced over at Hayle. She was as unhappy about their orders as Jeanaiel was, not so much the overall aim - the safety and security of the Mythlar Combine - but more in the method in which the Counsel of Eight had commanded them to execute the operation. With many sectors of the galaxy on edge, massing and leaving their sovereign space was not the smartest of idea's. She returned a knowing smile to Jeanaiel's look, saying more than words ever could. Jeanaiel smiled, Hayle may not always know what was on her mind but she knew how to reassure her when needed. The whole exchange lasted but a few moments and Jeanaiel continued addressing the fleet.

"Our first objective is to approach some of the larger powers in the galaxy. The fleet, I am told, is to provide a show of power, a signal that the Mythlar Combine is not to be taken lightly. So long as nobody forgets their training we should come through this initial phase of our orders without trouble. Jump coordinates will be sent out shortly." Taking her seat, Jeanaiel issued her final orders to the Angels crew before ordering the new course to be set for the Ter'ren Empire's borders. The computers monotone voice read out the time before the jump initiated, the Ebon Angels engines glowing a bright orange as they charged for jump travel. A minute later the Andalar system was clear of the Combine fleet as all 758 ships jumped to warp space.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Zane's ship, a small state of the art deep space scout craft had been in transit for 6-7 hours now, since receiving Jeanaiel's orders shortly after the Ebon Angel left Astalon. The counsel hadn't given her much leeway in her orders, she apparently didn't care. While she went ahead with the Angel and took care of the business with the larger powers, She had told Zane to start with some of the smaller ones where showing up with a fleet would be pure folly.

The system Zane was about to jump into was under the control of the Kahoian Republic, the Mythlar Combine had no dealings with them as yet. First contact situations were not really Zanes preferred assignments, But he would follow his orders, his honour demanded it.

"Destination arrival in 30 seconds." the ships onboard computer chimed while Zane was eating, a viewing screen above the table flickered and displayed the countdown. Zane took another bite from his protein bar and headed for the cockpit. Sitting down in the pilots seat and eating the final bite of his bar the computer chimed again. "Destination reached. Autopilot disengaging." The view of warp space seen through he cockpit canopy seemed to rip open with a brilliant flash of light, moments later the scout craft was cruising at sublight speeds at the outer edge of the system. Zane set a course for Kaho and punched the engines to full power. "Computer, record and start broadcasting on all channels. 'This is Zane Sarius, emissary for the Mythlar Combine. I seek an audience with the leaders of your Republic to discuss relations between our two nations. I await your response.' Computer repeat every ten minutes until they respond" Now there was nothing else to do but wait.
