OOC here: Succession OOC

The old elven King is dying, and his wife, the Human Queen is old and no longer fit to rule. The alliance between the two peoples and the end of the wars brought about by their marriage is starting to fall apart and the court is in disaray, everyone is wondering who will rule now.

To add to the confusion a new problem has arisen: Everyone in the royal bloodline has got the condition, everyone thinks they are going mad and many do not want any of them to rule.

Zelina wandered absent-mindedly through the corridors of the castle, day-dreaming about the book she had just been reading. She much prefered the world of her books to the real world - the bickering and gossip that had been abound in the castle since her father's health took a sudden downturn sickened her. She had always hated ceremony and the thought that there was a possibility she might have to rule frightened her, yet at the same time there was a nagging feeling at the back of her mind that her mother hadn't trained her nothing and it might be her duty to make sure the kingdom was ruled well. No thats silly. She thought. I am the youngest and there are plenty of otther suitable people to rule. But the feeling remained there, always troubling her, never leaving her alone.

She sighed and enterred the dining room where the family always ate breakfast together, or at least they did untill father got ill. The painfull thought bright tears to her eyes and she hastily wiped them away before anyone could see. She looked around the room in front of her, the long, formal table was filled with food from every corner of the kingdom, far more than the whole family could eat at once. Such a waste. She thought and shook her head ruefully, she tried mentioning it to her father once and he had curtly replied that they "had to keep appearances up". Apart from the usual servants tucked into corners of the massive room, doing their best to remain unnoticed, the room was empty. She took a seat and waited silently for the rest of the now pitifully small family to join her.

Heather led her horse down a narrow dirt path surrounded by a line of trees on either side, she wasn't really heading anywhere. She had always liked to travel aimlessly, the only things she ever took with her were a small leather bag to carry essentials and her horse, Chester. Heather ran her hand over his fur keeping him calm as they walked together, never gaining speed and never slowing down.

Unlike a lot of the Generals, Pralay lived inside the castle. For one thing it was probably the only place in the are big enough for him to live comfortably - the ceilings of his quarters were lofty, and the room was all open, so the walls would not obstruct him. Another reason was that he was one of the most Elite generals - his opinions meant something these days. One other reason may be because the King was his older foster brother when he was taken in by the Elven family. However, not many people knew this any more, especially those outside the castle walls.

Adorning the usual long coat, which swayed around his massive ankles as he walked, he closed the large door to his quarters, taking no care to lock it. He walked the corridors, just trying to wake himself up. When the King fell ill, Pralay had been losing sleep, trying to think about everything. He walked past the great dining hall and saw the breakfast spread and a single girl. Zelina. He didn't usually go into the Dining Hall for breakfast, but she looked very alone. He walked in, acquiring his custom chair from the other end of the hall than sat opposite Zelina. "Hello there," he spoke.

Lila-Rose sat down in the middle of the imperial rose gardens. She loved it there it was the one place she could find peace off mind away from all her bickering siblings why couldnt they just talk like civil people. Lila-Rose took a simple red rose from one of the bushes and carefully twiddled it round her fingers to avoid the thornes. It was quite and the only thing she could hear was the chirping of the birds who where perched on a near by tree. Her hair gently flowed in the breeze and her eyes seem to glint in the sunlight, if she could she would off stayed there for the whole day but she couldnt she had lessons to attend to.

She got up and carefully brushed the dirt of her dress. She gracefully walked down the corridor to the chorus of 'Good morning princess Lila.' Only people that where close to Lila called her Lila-Rose, it was her nickname given to her by her mother. She walked into the dining room and sat down by her younger sister Zelina. She whispered to her quietly so the servants could not here "Mother couldn't come to breakfast as she says Father is getting worse so she is going to be with him at all times, but the others don't have a good enough reason to be late." She looked around with a frown on her face she loved being with Zelina she was basicully one of the only people that didn't bicker or argue over the crown.

Walking trough the city Kurt took in every little detail. It had been four months since he last was here, he had been summoned to the field of battle. An ork incursion was well on it's way, but no longer. Walking trough the busy streets his mind lost to the girl he had come across in the forest. Her name was May and her smile kept haunting him. Truth be told, the only reason Kurt was out here today was because of her. Kurt was half hoping to bump into her and see that smile again, it had been... Enchanting.

Lila-Rose was getting bored with breakfast it was so quite and haunting. She got up and apologized for being rude. She ran up to her bedroom and changed into some off her ragged clothes, she kept ragged clothes so she could sneak into the town un noticed by anybody. She tied her hair back and walked carefully out of the castle gates, avoiding the guards eyes so they couldnt see her face.

The villiage was peacefull she really loved coming here without anyone noticing her she felt almost normal. There was flashing lights everywhere as people ran towards the festival and instently Lila-Rose was dazzled by them. She was so dazzled she didn't no where she was going and crashed into some man. (Kurt) "I'm so so sorry." She said her hands clasped to her mouth.

As Kurt walked trough the streets, his mind half at what was going on around him. There was a great festival this week, the city was full of people and it was hard to get a room at an inn. May would have a room he was sure of it. His train of thoughts was broken as someone bumped into him. Looking down at the young girl he noticed who it was. Kneeling down to her height he looked her straight in the eye. "Aren't you supposed to be having breakfast with the rest of the family little cousin of mine?" He whispered to her. It was bad enough for a knight to be on the streets these days, let alone a princess.
