The Five strangers had all found themselves in Nestinos for entirely different reasons. They'd all come to Ruras for entirely different reasons. And yet here all five of them were. A whisper Gnome, a grizzled old human, obviously a veteran of at least one war. And three elves. A Dark elf, one of the surface ones native to Ruras. A Wild Elf, who had come to Ruras to experience new forms of nature different than those of her jungle home. And a High Elf, come all the way from Elran, to reclaim treasures of the lost Elven Empire. All five of them had come for unique reasons, and all five were here, outside the Consulate. All five had been personally requested to arrive here, and all five had come when asked...although they didn't quite know why. There had just been something about the letter they'd received. “The Consul will be with you in five minutes.” A clerk told them soon after the last one of them had arrived. OOC: A crappy opening, I know, but I need a reason for all five of you to be on the same job. OOC Thread: D&D Taming of Ruras OOC thread

Jerico had no illusions about what he was summoned for. He grew up around this place. He learned how to use a sword back in Jakan, but when he came to Ruras, he was taught how to use his sword as an extension of his mind. Back in those days, he was known as a formidible combatant, so it seemed pretty obvious to the aged warrior that he was going to be asked once again to use his sword. Most likely for some petty reason, but that was okay. Work was work, and Jerico was always willing to take a job. As for the others around him, he could not say. Three variety of elf, and some manner of gnome. An interesting mix, to say the least. Jerico regarded each of them carefully, then decided that he'd most likely better understand them when they take up arms against their enemies. Jerico found some open space and began to exercise within his mind, pondering on what might be required of him when battle comes. OOC: Jerico's prepared maneuvers for today are - Leading The Attack, Emerald Razor, Mountain Hammer, Iron Heart Surge |

Illithos, this High Elf that had come to gather back ancient treasury of his natal race. They had lost it, had lost a lot since he humans had came to this place, had taken everything away. But they didn't deserve to wield the ancient secrets of his race, should never come into contact with it. But yet, he just arrived in front of the Consulate, had been requested to be here. But he wondered how they had gotten the information that he was there, in Ruras. That made him alert and on his guard. As he arrived, someone had announced they would meet the consul soon, Illithos wanted to get this over with. So he would take the time to see who was here and why. The first thing that caught his eye was an old man, who seemed adept to the mastering of the sword, looked like a true warrior who had seen war. Then the small being, a whisper gnome. Couldn't tell too much but could see his long reach weapon. The wild elf, female, seemed to be adept to nature, but even more than a normal wold elf. But he was suddenly shocked by what he saw next: a Dark Elf. He wanted to jump at it's neck, that hatred easily visible in his eyes. But he was better than that, knew he shouldn't. But he would be watching him closely. He then came over to the front of the door. The only particular about himself was that he had no weapon and seemed to have no place to hide one. They would discover his weapon soon enough, but keeps it hidden. OOC: Psychic Strike is already prepared.

Eriv had long decided that obeying the summons was a dire miscalculation on her part. It really was, though her manner of dress was, as usually, just right. She appeared much the thug in her browns and blacks and reds, hood tossed over her head casually. Whisper gnomes had a history of being untrustworthy individuals -- If wholly undeserved, thought Eriv -- which only helped add a level of mystique to her. She appeared, in every way, the thief and bandit-warrior, the brigand. This, at least, was precisely what she wanted. What she didn't like was how she had come into a room with four strangers of unknown origins and how not one of them was a gnome. This, she decided, would add some small difficulty to her task. She'd still discover what was wanted of her and if there were ulterior motives, but she really hated having company during this sort of job. She really did. Garl damn lady fortune. The gnome stretched and yawned, giving herself a lazy appearance. Then, she lifted her right leg and folded it over the left, letting the foot dangle and swing a bit. Eriv kept her eyes trained on the other occupants of the room, all the while removing a small apple from inside her clothes and biting deep into it. "Lovely weather, eh?" she asked aloud.

Leaning on her feather-charmed staff, Latlieya regarded her surroundings with curious yet laid-back eyes. Various creatures had made their way in here, of which the most interesting creature was a creature the size of a child, who seemed to be the most talkative of them for now. She paid little heed to the others, though an eyebrow was briefly raised at the sight of the dark elf. She had only heard of their vile cousins, never seen one in real life. He did not seem that dangerous...? "Always inspiring it is, the constant change and flow of the sky," she said with a dreaming smile, turning around and looking down at the little person. "Would you be here for the same reason as we are? You look a little young to be exploring, no?" A stranger to gnome-kind, she had never heard a very accurate description of their physical appearance. The door in the back of the room opened and a tall human woman, perhaps in her mid twenties. She has long white-blonde hair, and piercing violet eyes. Everyone in the room feels as a bug under a magnifying glass when she stares at them- although only for a moment, then the feeling passes. She wore long grey robes embroidered with the seal of the Confederation on the back- a crossed gavel and sword on a red background- of the robes. Those familiar with Confederation symbology would recognize the color of the robes and the seal as marking her as a Consul. "It is good is good to see you all came. I am the Consul of Ruras, Saria Laris. I have called you here to request that you aid me in solving a perplexing puzzle. And I can assure you, you all will be handsomely rewarded in the manner you desire." She looked at Illithos for a moment. "For example, I can provide you with several of the old Elven Empire's artifacts that the local Dark Elves have traded us, in exchange for your services." The way she said it gave the rest the impression that she knew exactly the kind of thing would interest them most.

Illithos finally sighed at the door being opened. Behind it revealed a tall woman, who identified herself as Saria Laris, Consul of Ruras. Just what she wore would give that off instantly, if any had learn the symbols of the Confederation. But that wasn't what had his mind set on what was happening is that requested their help for a complex mission............ and that she knew what he was here for. He had thought that his mission was only known to those who had discussed with and no other. How was she informed of the such? And the worst part was that the item's were gathered by the Dark Elves, the one race he hated the most, next to the human empire of Ruras. A cold stare came from Illithos to the woman, personally didn't want her to reveal what he was doing here. But with another sigh, but quick, he looked away from her and walked forward. If he got what he needed, he would accept, so that it wouldn't too hard to get to them....... or was the puzzle one he should be careful of? " Fine, but you better have the items. My time is something that I don't have a lot of." He said, a little annoyed.

"You will have your items in due time. And next time you communicate with your government, tell them that if they send more such agents to Ruras to achieve the same end you came here for, the Confederation will see it as an act of War. I'm sure your Queen Urusha remembers how we smashed her navy 100 years ago, And our navy is even stronger now, and yours weaker then it was then." She smirked.
