Default The Land of Seissol IC

OOC thread:The land of Seissol OOC

Five individuals will come together to fight for the dying country of Seissol, located in a universe far beyond this one where humans are hardly known of and strange creatures you only find in books and dreams are living and real. They will fight to take back the magic and wonder that has been stolen from the citizens of Seissol by the evil and greedy gnome king, Tomiak.

The Silver Elf Queen, Namastia has called upon these humans to steal back for the creatures what is rightfully theirs. Can they complete the task given to them, or will Seissol remain powerless for centuries to come?

Our tale begins in Seattle, Washington, where these five teens will soon come together and help a country in need.

Lily opened her eyes slowly, but the sunlight from the window behind her caused her lids to close again. Her nose tickled with the plastic tubes that had been shoved up there, sending oxygen to her lungs. She brought a hand to her face and rubbed her eyes, feeling the scratchy fabric of the bandages scrape against her skin. She opened her eyes again, squinting in the brightness, and noticed her forearms were wrapped up in sterile white gauze. There was a needle sticking out of her left hand, and a tube connected it to a bag of fluids that hung on a metal pole beside her. Where was she? What had happened? She sat up in the bed and looked about the room. There was a small black TV in the corner of the room, and when she looked over to her right, she saw the figure of her mother sitting in a chair, reading a magazine. She remembered what had happened.

Last night, she had gotten home late from school because she had been at the park, wandering around, watching the happy people walk past her, living their lives each day as she lived hers. She didn't understand what there was to live for. It all fell into a deep ravenous pit at the end anyways, and with her best friend gone from this hell, what else was there to make her day bright again? Lily had locked herself in the bathroom, a razor in one hand, and perhaps three bottles of prescription meds in the other. They were her mom's medications; she had various heart problems that caused her to rely on these everyday. Lily thought that maybe they could make the pain go away forever. So she downed a few and began cutting open her skin, watching with a distant calm as the red blood poured from her flesh and painted the white tile floors pink. She remembered feeling like her soul was drifting away from her body, and then she closed her eyes. The next thing she knew, she was in the hospital hooked up to machines that were working to keep her alive.

I'm alive. The thought made her sad. She didn't want to be in this world, but when she looked over at her mother sitting there, part of her was glad that she hadn't died.

"Mom?" She said softly. Her mom looked up and smiled widely at her. Diane set down the magazine and embraced her only daughter. She could feel her mother's wet tears dripping on her face and neck.

"Oh Lily. I thought I'd lost you." Her mother sobbed, brushing her daughter's hair out of her face and giving her a sad smile. Lily hadn't realized how much her mother cared. Sometimes it seemed like she didn't care at all. Her mother was always busy running her boutique and talking to customers on the phone. Sometimes it seemed like her mother wasn't there at all.

"Are you hungry? Do you need anything? Are you feeling okay?" Her mother asked, wiping her tears away with her shirt sleeve. Her mother had short brown hair and wore glasses also, but they were usually pushed to the end of her nose for reading purposes. Lily looked around for her own glasses, and found them lying on the small side table next to the bed. She grabbed them and put them on, grateful that she could see clearly now.

"Can I go home?" Lily asked, irritated at the tubes and needles stuck into her. She always hated hospitals. They smelled like death and piss, even behind all the bleach and cleaner that they used to try and hide the stench. Her mother nodded in response and pushed the little button on the side of the bed to call for a nurse.

Sighing, Zackery remained seated within the front driver's side of his van. Behind him were two other members of the gang with which he had affilated himself. They were currently beginning to get impatient with the waiting. Manson lifted his feet up, And placed both about the steering wheel, Leaning back in his seat. The man next to him in the passenger seat had been bound and tied, And was currently struggling to get free of the rope and ducktape. "So you say this is the place?" The man nodded furiously, As if he life depended on it, Which it did. "No bullshit this time, Right Micheal?" The man again began to shake his head with great vigor. "Good." Zackery turned, And began to exit the vehicle, While the two men in the back dragged 'Micheal' over the seat and began whatever it was they did. Manson didn't really care to know how it was they killed or disposed of the man, Only that it was done quickly and effectively. Blinking once, Zack shut the door and placed both hands inside his hoodie before walking toward the front of the building. Pushing through the doors, He reviewed the plan. Micheal had informed him that there was a certain lady inside that owed the mob a little cash. She couldn't pay for her child's education, And had turned to the gang's leader for help. Somehow or another, The Ladies little girl had gotten fucked up on a medication overdose and was in the ICU. Zack's job was to go upstairs, Locate the target, And find out why the hell she hadn't payed on time. If needed he could damage the woman or her child, Though the don had informed him that pushing to hard might force the woman to go to the cops. Stepping into an elevator, He pressed the button that had a dull 11 on it. Instantly the button lit up, And the car began to move up the building.

Chris just got out of class. It was Organic Chemistry a very stale subject and hard to get into but he was interested more or less. "Well I'm done with classes for the day time for work!" he thought to himself. He got into his car and started driving towards Evergreen Hospital. He parked his car and headed inside the building towards the main office. He was greeted by the doctors and nurses and he began to sit down at his desk and began organizing and updating the database for the Hospital's records. If the hospital was short handed he would also help check patients in but it was a pretty normal day. He was talking with one of the nurses, Nurse Cunningham. "Anything exciting happen last night?" he asked. The nurse replied, "Nothing much just the usual but there was a case of a young girl getting overdosed on drugs. She looked like she was a goner but Dr. Marshal was able to save her in the end." Chris replied, "Wow Dr. Marshal is really something, he's one of the best on staff." The nurse smiled and replied, "We won't know what we would do without him." Then Nurse Cunningham was getting paged saying that a room 1131 was calling for a nurse and the other ones are busy. "Can I come with you? I really like to observe other patients and besides I have to go collect some files from the departments on each floor anyway." The nurse said, "Ok but you better promise to become a good Doctor and come work at this hospital." Chris smiled and replied, "I will definitely!" They both entered an elevator and headed towards the 11th floor.

Stepping out of the elevator on the 11th floor, Zack took notice of intern-nurse duo. Stepping through the doorway and into room 1131, Manson sat quickly while the other two staff entered the room. "Hey, Do you two mind if I talk to my clients alone for a moment. There is a breif insurance detail that I must take note of." With this, Zack turned to face Mrs. Stuart, And narrowed his eyes at the woman. This was done in a rather indescret way, As not to tip of either of the personnel in the room. Again facing Christopher and Nurse Cunningham, Manson began to speak again. "My supervisor has instructed me that it is very important that this matter be resolved. And seeing as you two are both reasonable people... 10 or so minutes wouldn't hurt right?" Manson seemed to edge his voice with a little venom, As if to warn both intern and nurse he was not someone to be toyed with. Another thing to be noted was that fact that insurance agenicies and hostpital's worked side by side, Benefiting from one anothers profit. Because of this, Hospital's generally stayed out of the incurance companies way, And vice versa. To break this, Could bring dire consiqeunces in buisness and financal standings. Neither of which an Intern or Nurse alike would want on their records.

The Nurse entered the room and Chris followed right after. The mother of the girl asked to check out. The girl sat on the bed siletnly, she had
tubes to carry oxygen in her nose and was hooked up to IV fluid. Just then a mysterious person claiming to be from an insurance company walked in and demanded a private moment with them.

"Hmm...How suspicious… would an insurance agent come to someone in a hospital right when their client's daughter had almost died? Wouldn't they call her to schedule an appointment in their own office? He wasn't even dressed like an insurance agent." he thought to himself. This guy looked like he means business in a bad way. Nurse Cunningham left the room saying that she would go get started on the check out procedure while they talked. Chris staggered towards the door. Then he said, "Um your an insurance agent right? Which company do you work for? I was thinking about switching and I wanted to know if your company offers a better deal. Can I have a business card? That would be much easier, if you wouldn't mind." Chris had a funny feeling about this guy time to catch him on his bluff he thought to himself.

"I'm not on the clock right now, Just running an errand for my supervisor." Zack was starting to get annoyed with this intern. The boy was causing more trouble than intended. "If you'd like to talk with my supervisor, You can make an appointment. Now I really must speak with Mrs. Stuart." And with that, Zack nearly shoved the intern from the room. Pushing the door shut behind the boy, Manson locked it. Slipping down in a chair, Zackary flipped out his 941 automatic and leveled it with one of the IV tubes attached to Lily's arm. "Now Mrs. Stuart, You have a certain debt concerning me and my associates. If I remember correctly, Something about school funding for your daughter correct?" Manson at the moment held all the cards, And was ready to throw them down at any moment. "Now, You've been late on your payment, But... My employer knows your a nice lady with a lot of problems. Because of that, He is willing to negoiate a few more days to get the money." Zack pulled his weapon back, And cocked the slid once. With this, A single .45 AE shredder impact round was chambered within said weapon. Releasing the slide, It made a soft click as the tip impacted the barrel. "If you can't pay on up next time however, My boss will be forced to start tkaing things away... And no one would want to see that happen, Right?" Grinning, Manson eyed Lily again, This was a subtle move that would be easily noticed by Mrs. Stuart. The object of this little 'Game' was to make the mother feel as though she had no other options. "So how about it, What's been holding up the paycheck, Its alright to tell me. Just help me, Help you..."

Lily wasn't expecting three people to enter the room after her mom had called for a nurse. Two of them looked like they worked here, a female nurse and a younger, blonde-haired boy who could possibly be another nurse as well. As he checked in her IV fluids, she looked up at him and noted that he was sort of cute. But there was another man with dark hair who sat down in the chair next to her mother, and he caught her attention the most. He wore dark clothing and had penetrating eyes. Lily looked over at her mom, whose jaw was set tight. Where they having problems with their insurance company? Lily felt awkward lying there while there was obviously a large tension in the room.

Diane smiled nervously at the "insurance" man. She knew what he was here for. She knew she hadn't paid fully for her last set of meds, and oh, how that had come back to kick her in the face! Her daughter was now coming back from a near-death experience, and she had this guy to deal with because money was tight at these times. She secretly wished the intern would stay here because frankly, this young man scared her. She had no idea what was up his sleeve, and she knew she was in for it too. She had gone a long time without paying for her drugs. She just wished her daughter wasn't here to listen in on their conversation. She waited patiently for the intern to leave and the man to speak to her first.

Lily didn't like the looks of the dark-haired man. He had a caustic voice and she feared for what sort of predicament her mother was in with the insurance company. She hadn't heard her mother complaining about it before, so some new problem must have arisen. Lily just wanted to get out of here. Her thoughts of leaving soon grew ever the more prominent as the dark-haired man whipped out a gun and pointed it at her hand. Her eyes were wide and she couldn't stop staring at the gun. This surely wasn't an insurance agent. They don't carry guns on them. Her heartbeat quickened. She was scared for her mother and herself. She felt her eyes burning with tears.

Diane's fists clenched and her lips pursed. "Don't you dare hurt my daughter." She stared back at the man that was pointing the gun at her only child, and she didn't want to get close to losing her again. "I can get the money to you. I swear." Her eyes were beginning to tear. She didn't want to put her daughter in a dangerous situation, but it seemed like her business with these drug dealers had gotten her into more trouble than she had ever imagined.

Lily flinched as the man cocked the barrel of the gun, and she kept looking back and forth between the man, her mother, and the door. She wanted to press the button on the side of the bed to call the nurse again, but she knew if she moved, it would be death for her. Funny thing, how she had wanted to die so bad a day ago, but now when the threat of a gun was shoved in her face, she didn't want to go. At least she didn't want to go in this manner. She would have preferred a calm death, but that hadn't worked out so well.

"I can pay. I can pay. Just don't hurt her." Diane pleaded, almost rising up from her chair, but she kept her rear seated. She didn't want to push this man to shoot anyone, especially not her daughter. "We've just been having tough times, that's all. Tough times.

Lily could see the tears brimming over the edge of her mother's eyes. She hadn't seen her mother cry often, and it made her ever them more uneasy. What sort of money did her mom owe this guy? What was this all about? Had her mom been keeping secrets from her for months, years? What was going on?

"Alright, So why haven't you payed on time. What's holding you up." Flicking the gun around in his hand, Manson began to spin it about his right fore-finger, Before which he had thumbed the weapon's safety. His piercing cyan optics moved from mother to daughter. "I hate to do it, But if you fine people can't pay my employer back on time. I'm going to have to make you pay up." Moving forward, Zack advanced toward the bed where Lily lay. Snapping the 941's safety off again, He ceased to spin it around his finger. Lifting his left hand, Whilst gripping the gun in the right, Manson ran his finger's across Lily's face, As if examining her. "People on the street pay alot for younger girl's these days. It's an awful thing you know..." Turning to face Daine, Zackary withdrew his hand from Lily's face. "Your girl is very pretty, She'd make an excellent stripper or prostitute. I hear there's a high demand for younger girls now. People are willing to pay big bucks." Stepping back again, Zackary re-took his seat near the far wall. "So, Are we clear on all of this, Mrs. Stuart?"

Chris was shoved out of the room and heard the door slam behind him and he heard it lock. "What's that guy’s problem? This guy was definitely no insurance agent and if he was he was an extremely rude and disturbed insurance agent," he thought to himself. He felt like going back in but he had other things to do. He might as well accomplish it and head back with the Nurse to make sure the girl was alright. He saw Nurse Cunningham go down the elevator to get the girl's records. He began to head to the department's secretary and asked for the data that occurred during last night's operations. The nurse went to the filing cabinet to grab the files of the patients It was currently 4:05 pm about 5-6 minutes since he left the room. He shift just barely started and something suspicious was happening. "What's with the security at this hospital anyway?" he wondered. Nurse Cunningham came back up the elevator with the girl's bill and check out forms. The nurse at the desk handed him files on all the new patients including the girl Lily Stuart. Chris thanked the nurse and the two headed back to the room it was three minutes until the 10 minutes were up but they both figured it was enough time to talk. Nurse Cunningham knocked on the door.

Diane's eyes flickered from her daughter to the gun. She could feel her heart pounding against her chest and she wiped away her hot, angry tears. "I...I spent the money. I gambled it away." Diane's lips were quivering now and she watched in horror as the man touched her daughter's face.

Lily looked horrified at her mother. Since when did she have a gambling problem? Maybe that's where she is all the time. She's not working; she's gambling. The reality of the situation hit her and she felt angry at her mother. Angry for her never being there. Angry for her keeping secrets. Angry for wasting their money away on god knows what. Lily's eyes came back to the man as his cold fingers grazed her cheek. She flinched and turned her head, wishing this was all just a bad dream, and she'd wake up again in the hospital bed, ready to go home, perhaps a happier person. But this was no dream. This was real.

Diane whimpered a little, but nodded, a new flow of tears running down her face. "We--we're clear. I have a few days to get the money to your boss." She nodded her head again, wanting this man to disappear and get away from her daughter. She hated the way he touched her, and she wanted desperately to fling herself upon him, but she knew that would only mean death for her, or rather, her daughter, and she couldn't stand the thought of Lily dying. Her teary eyes locked on the door where she heard a knock. It was like a savior to her. With a witness, maybe this man wouldn't hurt her only family. Maybe.
