Seiji didn't need a second to think that through as he reaches back into his coat ripping out his Colt .45 and started to unload the clip. Through his eyes he could see the trail that the bullets made as the flew through the air. The actions of the chamber and hammer on his firearm just going through there motions seeing the ejected carriage flying fun the gun one after another. Soon the noticeable click that was the clear sound he ran empty as he threw the empty gun away as he reaches back into his coat for another weapon he had.

Hearing "Open Fire!", Aeron grabbed her Berettas and started firing at the Agent. She had only shot six rounds when she heard two clicks, one from one of her own pistols and one from Seiji's .45. Without hesitation, Aeron called to him and threw him her other gun. Then, she fished another magazine out of her boot, slid it into her first gun and started to fire again. ((does anyone else notice how much stuff is in Aeron's boots?))

Agent Haven, as he was bringing his foot down, he smashed it into the floorboard, sending wood chips up into the air. Seeing his opponent withdraw a gun, Agent Haven tried to do the same, but hearing the call "Open Fire!", Agent Haven removed the possibility of firing back from his mind. Not having the time to look behind him, Agent Haven could only guess from which direction the bullets were coming from behind him. First ducking under Jet's first couple bullets, Agent Haven felt a bullet lodge in his left shoulder. Shifting his feet, he tried to sidestep to the right, and caught a bullet to his right rib. Leaning forward, he dodged another of Jet's bullets, to feel another connect to his right arm. I can't dodge the ones I can't see. Agent Haven thought, perplexed at his situation. Drawing his gun, Agent Haven had enough time for only one shot. Aiming carefully, Agent Haven lowered his Desert Eagle to his target, and fired the trigger. His target: The hardline. Just as he pulled the trigger, he felt three seperate bullets, one Jet's, one the man's, and the third the woman's connect to his body. One to the base of his skull, another to his chest, and the third to his spine. Seizing, Agent Haven didn't last to see wether or not his shot destroyed the hardline. Falling to his knees, Agent Haven fell unconsious, then fell forward, slamming into the ground as his body hit the ground. His consiousness awoke to find itself being processed through several different coding programs, determining his error, and his cause of death. His consiousness was scanned in seconds to view his memory. After a full scan of processors, Agent Haven's consiousness was sent directly to the source. You ignored a direct order. Why? A voice shot through Agent Haven's mind, an imprint, and not a sound. "It was the best course of action. Pausing to explain myself would've allowed the anomaly time to escape." Yet, you died anyway. "Not without learning what they needed. They have data files on Agents." Yes, We seen. They have informed data on all of our active Agents, including you. Agent Haven remained silent. This is a warning. Do not falter from parameters, it was made for a reason. You alike are singular in your choices to avoid rules and regulations. One more decision like today, and you will be terminated. Agent Haven's consiousness was sent through another processor, then was uploaded to the Matrix once more. In a park, only hundreds of feet away, Agent Haven's coding overriden a bluepill, sitting on a park bench. As he reaccostomed himself to the Matrix, he slowly, and disgustedly plugged his communicator back into the Matrix. |

As soon as Aeron realized what the Agent was doing, she quickly fired a round into his spine. Fortunately, the Agent's bullet never found its target, but rather buried itself in the drywall of the building. When Aeron was sure that the Agent wasn't getting back up again, she calmly walked over to the ringing phone and answered it.

Lupine walked over to the dead Agent and kicked at the corpse. Aeron answered the phone and disappeared. It rang again, and Lupine answered it. There was a moment of blackness, like passing out, where light and sounds fell away. When she opened her eyes again she was back in the Dauntless - Aeron was rubbing her eyes in the adjacent chair, and Grid had a relieved look on her face. "That was too close. Alright, let's get that information packet in the computer, I want to see what was so damn important that we got an Agent on our tails." |

(Well you can fit anything in a good pair of boots.) Seiji stood there as he watched Aeron disappear to only be followed by Lupine. He normally was the last to leave as he still had his hand in his coat looking around and down at the Agent's dead body. Not a bad shot he admitted as he could tell his .45 shot hit home in the chest. Rather big hole. As he looks up at Jet waiting for the phone to ring once more. At that moment it did. The dull heavenly ring filled the hazy room. Through the refection of his white tinted sunglasses showing the ghostly look of Jet as he waited for him to go on. |

Jet finished firing, and his clip clicked empty as he heard the hollow shells quietly land onto the warehouse's bare floor. He could see that Lupine, Seiji, and Aeron had done the same. It happened so fast, but Jet saw the distinct signs of the agent being hit despite the absence of blood like a human. The Agent fell to the floor with a thud, and his hands released the large Desert Eagle. The lifeless body convulsed and the suited man was replaced with an elderly woman in funeral dress. The sight moved Jet, but he pushed it aside, he looked the the hardline which was thankfully still intact. There was a large bullet hole less than a foot above it on the concrete wall. Jet walked over to it and raised it to his ear, he noticed that his comrades were behind him and raised the phone up quickly to his ear and digitized before their eyes. Reality rushed at him, at he was thrown back into the ratty leather barber chair. He grinned from ear to ear. Thank Zion, it's good to be back.

Lupine blinked several times, trying to shake off the Matrix. For most, the transition between the real and the not-real became habitual, the crossing over easier. For her there had always been -- and she assumed by now always would be -- a sense of something surreal and dream-like. She thought dimly of David, of her life before the Dauntless and all of this, and it was not without a sense of nostalgia. The tendency to drift off like this made her angry at herself. Just focus, you have a mission. There's a time and a place for sentimentality, she thought. Grid's screens were a miasma of green falling code. It would take time to decipher what information was stored in Aeron's data packet... in the meantime... "Good work, Grid. It got a little dicey in there. Let me know when we have a clearer idea of what this is, 'k?" She put a hand on Grid's shoulder, nodded at Seiji and Aeron, and walked down the narrow ramparted hallway of the hovercraft. She opened the door of her cabin and sat down on the edge of her bunk, and put her head in her hands. |

Jet swung his legs sideways along the ratty chair and stood up. He was slightly dizzy from being jacked in for an extended period of time, but he had made many jumps and shook the feeling off of himself. Jet took a step with his booted right foot and walked out of the wire-choked room. He made his well trodden right through the circular hallway that led to the kitchen and poured himself a bowl of slop. He ingested in quickly enough and tossed the coarse bowl and spoon nonchalantly into the sink. He went back to the hallway, but this time he passed the operators room, seeing that Lupine was not there, and headed his way to her room. Jet walked up quietly to her door and knocked three times with a small echo each time. "Lupine, are you in there?" He said trying not to be intrusive and hoping he wasn't.
