((I have to go, I might be on later tonight, 9 or 10 Hawaii time *I think that's 12 or 1 your time*))
Vance looked at the huge beasts. "Crap, those things are huge, If I had one of those on earth I'd be the most loved guy." He laughed to himself. He could see the disturbed look on everyone's faces if he came to school riding one of them. "I swear, when I came to the moon, this is not what I expected." ------------------------------------- Carmen threw open the doors with all his might. He saw the earth man and Harper standing next to the brutes. "Harper my dear, you know you can't run from me." He said. He walked over to her and he ran his good hand threw her hair, breathing deeply. "Can you heal my hand please? I'm going to need it later tonight." A sickly smile stretched across Carmen's face. |

She laughed, patting the brute on the back.
"Well, none of us are quite what anyone expects." She said with a grin. It faded when Carmen ran into the building. She shuddered at the feeling of his hand in her hair, the meaning of his words. "Of course, deary." She said, grinning. She took his hand in hers and ran her hands over it smoothly, slowly. She sighed as the fingers healed and regained their natural look. "You are all better." She groaned when he kissed her cheek, cursing under her breath. my father forces me to heal him no matter how much I hate him, she mumbled to Vance --- Carmen smiled at the healing of his hand, glaring at Vance. She's all mine and no matter what you do, she always will be. He said to the boy's mind, a menacing smile on his face. |

Vance waited for Carmen to leave the room before talking again.
"I thought you said you can only heal people you like? And people who you hate, it only makes things worse?" He asked wondering about what she meant by that. He couldn't imagine what it would be like having your marriage arranged for you. He felt a sting of sympathy for the girl he just met. He had been thrown into this culture full force only a short time ago. He knew that he had a lot to learn, but he felt like he had asked enough questions for now. He didn't want to be impolite. His mind then went to what Carmen said to him "She's all mine and no matter what you do, she always will be." Again, he thought about how he had met her only a little while ago. Why is he so scared? Maybe there is something going on I don't know about? But what could I do even if I wanted to? First off, she is a princess, already out of my league. Second, if I tried something, I could cause a war between the two civilizations, and that wouldn't be good. I mean, I want to help her, she is obviously in pain over this. But I don't know how I would, or if I could. Vance sighed, knowing that she probably heard every thought. "By the way, sorry about the men back at the colony, most of the people who come here are cons and just looking for a way out of death. Others, just wanted to get off earth." |

|
The girl's face turned to a frown.
"I don't exactly hate him... I must learn to love him, but it is hard. Carmen isn't scared, just... Full of it. He is over joyed to be wed to me and will do whatever it takes to rub it all over everyone's face." Harper chose to stop listening at scared, giving the man some privacy. She turned and walked out of the stables and into the large castle. |
|
||||
|
"Interesting." Vance mumbled as he walked into the castle beside Harper.
"Holy-" He said drawing out the word longer then it was suppose to be. "This is amazing! I've never seen anything like it! I mean, even the most beautiful building back on earth wouldn't even put a dent on this thing. Wow, this is amazing. You guys are the coolest civilization I have ever met!" A huge smile was on Vance's face as he looked around the room. Dang, if only I had brought my camera. Ha, I don't think it's going to do much good sitting on my bed. Wonder if mom has found it yet. Nah, probably hasn't even set foot in my room. |

Vance let out a small chuckle "'but a dent in it' is a figure of speech, it just means that no build on earth can even closely compare to this." He smiled, he was getting to like the easy going nature of his new friend. It had been awhile since someone treated him like a human and he was enjoying it.
"You mean it gets better? Holy cow! I don't know how anything could be any better." He felt like he was in a dream. Everything was beautiful, and nothing out of place. But this wasn't a dream, and that made the experience that much more exciting. "Food does sound good, what kind of food do y'all eat on the moon?" As if I'm even going to understand the answer I'm going to get to that question. He mused to himself |

|
Harper smiled, "well, of course not, intellectually we are about 200 years ahead of you, but just you wait, earth will... Well it will never catch up," she grinned at her answer, "Yes, it gets much better, love. We eat whatever you want. We eat what you eat on earth, but the taste is enhanced tenfold. I am sure you will enjoy it, just, watch out for any of the alcohaul, ((spelled wrong... I know))) it is more concentrated than anything you have on earth... Stick with water or soda."

Vance gagged, "alcohol and I don't get along, no need to worry about that." He remembered the last time he drank, he was sick for days.
"Anything? Do y'all have chicken and dumplings? That is my favorite meal." Vance smiled. He realized that he hadn't eaten all day, and it was catching up on him. "I'm sorry, I'm probably being rude, I've only been here for an hour and I'm already asking for food." Vance blushed slightly. When he looked up, he saw Carmen standing in the corner of the room. ------------------------------------------------------ Carmen never left the room, he went to a dark corner where he would be unnoticed. He didn't like the strange earth man or how much attention Harper was giving him. He knew that Harper didn't love him, and it hurt him inside, but he thought that with time, she would come to love him. |
