Noelle was stood next to Seth, swaying lightly, "so why do we have a yacht full of firearms again?" she asked with a light sarchastic tone to her voice. She frowned slightly, we are in sooooo much shit if we get caught with all those firearms she thought to herself.

She looked at Seth, a light smile creeping on her face, "maybe this time we can keep our limbs intact," she joked with a laugh. She leant over and whispered into Seth's ear, "I left my paracetamol in my suitcase, do you want to come with me to grab it?"

'Ah, well that changes things.' Seth said and climbed up onto the boat, eyeing up the badge, and quickly switched back to his natural Irish accent but lowering his voice so the boat's guests didn't hear, seeing there was no point in trying to avoid creating suspicion.

'Medical officer Seth McCarthy, Van Hellsing Agency, Vatican authorised group seventeen. Or was it nineteen? Anyway, you've just walked in on one of our operations. If you've also got an operation in the same area I suggest your team stays away from ours. Other than the massive ego conflict, having two competitive investigation teams on the same site would be bad for cover reasons anyway. Hopefully we won't have to use those guns, and we definately don't want the meat. If it's anything else you want i'd suggest you talk to our boss, who I believe is... I believe she just jumped out of that window...'

Turning to Noelle, he smiled and helped her steady herself before she fell over, laughing slightly at the joke.
'Sure thing, where's your suitcase?'

“I think I’ll stay actually.” The Captain was in some slight shock at the mention of Vatican authority but he didn’t let it show. Instead, Lucien removed his weapon from the side-holster and slid it into the gap between belt and trousers on his back, thus letting his shirt disguise its presence. At the same time, the movement of the shirt served to cover his badge and he then stood, looking exactly like any other, albeit slightly unusual, civilian. “I think my international jurisdiction over-rules Vatican authorisation anyway. Don’t worry though, I won’t get in your way at all, I’d just like to observe. That and it’s always nice to have someone around with a legal reason to be carrying a gun if you’re planning to start shooting things.”

Despite the laughter, Lucien took a seat on the edge of the weapons crate and perked his brow slightly, there was something about working alongside an operational team other than one’s own…they always seemed to mirror each other, for a start. “The Van Hellsing Agency…” He finally said after a slight pause. “I think I’ve heard of you before. Am I going to get read in on this op then?”

"Back in the room," she replied, thankful for Seth steadying her. She blushed pink before flicking her hair out of her face and smiling back at him. "I think they're buried somewhere in the bottom of it, I had no need of them on the journey here, so shall we get back to the room and grab them before we even attempt this mission?"

She looked at Lucien, "well at least you've found a use for your underpants," she laughed, "gun holster, works better I guess."

Nicki remained silent throughout the whole exchange between the agency members and the stranger. He had a curious expression on his face which belied the irritation that he felt. He actually didn’t know to whom he should be more annoyed at.

Croix managed to attract the attention of an unwanted stranger. Izumi suddenly dashed off although she probably had her reasons. Seth and Noelle had incredibly bad timing. If their bad timing wasn’t enough they were volunteering information like it was anybody’s business. Seth managed in bad taste to link the Vatican with the agency. Although the new guy managed to buy the ruse, it still irritated Nicky. He himself felt annoyed at his inaction but was too preoccupied with feeling annoyed.

But the most irritating guy would have to be the new guy. He just managed rub Nicky the wrong way. First he manages to flash his little toy gun in front of their faces and then he manages to rub the fact that he’s from an international agency.

The ship was an hour delayed since the Morgan’s decided to wait for passengers. They must have had big money, or at least bigger than most of the folks who already boarded the yacht. Croix wanted to check the shipment of arms that he had brought just for this assignment. Nicky would have shut him up when he started talking about the M-60s but by then it was too late.

The first moment that the stranger started inquiring into the crate of weaponry, Nicky instinctively reached into his pocket to fish out his wallet. He had his old Interpol I.D. and that usually settled things. Unfortunately he was in his trunks and had left his wallet back in the cabin.

Nicky leaned over to Croix and whispered, “Hand me your phone, I just need to contact someone for a sec. Deal with this guy but don’t tell him anything.”

Croix handed him a phone and Nicky asked the stranger in a gruff tone.
“First, tell me who you are, hotshot. And not when where you’re from but your name? But before you do that rest assured that we have the proper license for these arms and have a legal transaction here.”

Nicky dialed Ri’s phone and smiled at the stranger before turning away and walking out of earshot.

“Hey, it’s me… something’s come up and I need to know if we already have the papers for the guns.”

“What happened?” Ri inquired.

“Some hotshot from SORA thinks he caught onto to something. He thinks were from the Vatican but we need papers in case he asks again.”

Nicky turned back to the stranger, who seemed irritated at having been left off but Nicky just kept on smiling.

The Captain sat and looked up at the latest figure to begin to address him patiently, his chin came to rest on one hand in a somewhat bored manner and throughout the course of the phone call, Lucien watched the back of the man’s head, rolling his eyes once or twice at the unnecessary display. From the course of the rushed phone conversation, Lucien picked out only the name of his own Agency and shrugged at the return of the more aggressive member of this increasingly unusual team.

“You’ve heard of us.” Aware that this response answered none of the previous questions, Lucien took a sigh and carried on. As he spoke, the officer tapped his knee lightly with the fingers of his spare hand and looked around at everyone who was even half-listening, still presenting a slightly bored outward façade. “I think I probably told you that I was Captain Lucien Hawker. I’d explain the Agency too, but it seems your colleague here already has experience in international police forces. By the way, I’ve got no connection to Interpol before anyone asks, they’re little more than an intelligence gathering agency, dependant on national forces to do their work for them- they have no legal jurisdiction.”

“Your Agency, on the other hand, I do have some brief knowledge of.” At this, the officer reached into his pocket and extracted a nondescript sheet of paper, simple white, neatly lined in dark type. “Collected by our coordinating officer for non-human crimes. She described you as, and I quote, ‘a Chicago based underground agency dealing in the supernatural’ featuring ‘operatives from a range former walks of life including potential ex-governmental agents’. Your operations are of little concern to me, you do a good job by the sound of it and you’re hardly posing a major risk to international security by killing off a few creatures that ninety percent of the human population refuse to believe exist anyway.” With a coy smile, the Captain rose and turned on the spot to examine the crate of weapons he had been leaning against. He reached in slowly, half-lifting one of the larger firearms in a casual fashion.

“I have no doubt that if I try to trace these weapons I’ll find a mountain of bureaucracy which ends in a dead-end of paperwork somewhere in China. It’s an illegal shipment and to be perfectly honest, I couldn’t care less.” If this last statement shocked anyone, the officer didn’t allow much more than a second or two before continuing to speak. “You’re a unique team. Something I haven’t seen before and something…” He turned now to look the aggressive arrival directly in the eye. “…that if you don’t mind me doing so, I’d like to watch in action. I am going to stay on this ship. I am going to sit back and watch this operation. And you, sir, are going to pretend that I am not here. If you have any objection then I suggest you call your boss over before insulting a senior member of an international force again.”

By the end of this little speech the two men were stood no more than a couple of inches apart, both with the same half-patronising, half-contempt-filled smile. There was little between their arguments, Lucien's only real backing lay in his judicial authority- he at least was here legally.

Marvin was in a state of lassitude brought on by a distinct feeling of queasy unwellness. He’d seen something that had left him pale when he staggered onto the boat and settled into one of the thick cushions along the back end of the smaller boat. He spent what time he wasn’t hanging over the side and trying to control his gut, watching Ri and Sara and wondering why in hell it took so long for them to have left in the first place. Someone had screwed up somewhere, but he wasn’t sure just how it had all happened.

Still, it had smoothed out rather easily in the end. Noelle and Seth had made their way back from the yacht where they had met some need to brief Kundiman (whom they’d said had been impossible to find - but he’d figured it might have been because the big boss had fallen on some guy out on the jetty and had spent a good five minutes flirting and joking with him to cover the fact before she’d gotten back onto the boat) and now they were prepared and moving off, Ri and Sara working like clockwork to get things moving.

But then, he’d never really been on an operation before. He was an Office Manager, thankyouverymuch and while he had skills that the big cheese had thought would be necessary (opening a hospital door, for instance, or playing look-out), it wasn’t that he’d ever had to put them to use doing anything related to monsters and dead bodies.

Some of the girls (he hadn’t bothered to look too closely, as he was intimate with the waves at the moment) had gone about untying the boat from the aluminum tee-ties and the smaller boat began to float slightly out from the dock. Then Sara’d crowed something about listening to the engine purring (he wasn’t sure about the engine purring, but the smell of exhaust that rose to him had a strangely comforting effect - as if he’d never left land, really), and they’d slid easily into the harbor where they began to follow the larger yacht.

Marv gazed out back toward the jetty and the township they were leaving behind, Spanish influences even more obvious from the growing distance. An upswelling of sickness took him over again and he lost sight of everything as he leant over the side and gulped great mouthfuls of air.

When he opened his eyes once more, he found himself staring at an odd turned about reflection of his own face on the sliding, rippling water below him. Only, his face wasn’t that off greenish silver hue, nor were his eyes without pupil, nose slitted, mouth… full of razor sharp teeth.

Marvin blinked.

The mermaid did not. She smiled and it was a distinctly unhealthy smile for someone like Marvin. She was beautiful in an ethereal manner. She looked off to the larger yacht and then gave him a friendly wave and started to slip back into the water as the concept of mermaid and sharp teeth settled as only a half bottle of Pepto bismol could.

Without thinking, Marvin gave a half sound, a breath perhaps, of alarm, and drew the autorevolver from the side of his long pants (he’d been too sick to do more than change into a black tank top in the time it had taken the others to change completely). The heavy blue black gun settled into the palm of his hand as he crouched over the rail and sighted at the odd ripples of the water. He was certain it was a she as he could have sworn he’d seen a pale shadow of breasts under the shadowed water at the side of the boat. The mermaid’s blur of pale slid under the boat.

He stood back then flicked his glasses down and looked around him at the water. Mermaid. Well. It had definitely looked like it could have taken great chunks out of a dead body, that was for sure.

Marvin glanced back to the fore of the ship. Ri was bent over her computer, on the phone. The boat was large enough for the rest of them to have settled comfortably back for the trip. Marvin frowned and keeping an eye on the water, began to travel up the side of the boat, gun still out.

"-the hell?" Seth muttered as Marv all but climbed over the man. Alicia had said something about crazy secretaries, and someone had asked him what he was looking at.

He stared at the water, then pulled off his glasses as he realized they darkened the water. Not that he expected to see better under the blur of blue. "Something… " he muttered and then stopped to look over at where Sara was driving, standing up, the wind pushing her hair around. Everything on board was fine. The mermaids were supposed to have been dangerous creatures but the one he’d seen had reminded him of a friendly killer whale begging for fishy treats.

Sickness or something, Marv gave a small grin at the rest of them then shook himself. The mermaid had surprised him but beyond the sharpness of those teeth, she hadn’t looked all that dangerous.

A sudden splash and he wasn’t the only one alert as he felt, more than saw, Seth beside him jerk at the sudden flash of pale across their bow.

"Dolphin?" Seth muttered dangerously and Marv gave a shrug as the flash came again, closer to the boat this time.

"If dolphins have blue eyes and breasts, then probably," he stated in a laconic drawl as before them, the larger yacht left the harbor and sped up upon hitting open water. "There!" he hissed and the mermaid arched backwards, just under the surface of the water, her face eerily lit under the surface in a grotesque version of A Portrait of a Lady under a gauzy veil, her slender body almost completely on display - the more human portions anyway.

Marv shifted the Mateba, sighted, and hoped that his aim wasn’t off.

Seth sighed at Noelle and looked towards the larger boat pushing off from the dock.
'Damnit, we don't have time to get to room now, sorry, but the first aid kit in the boat should at least have some painkillers. Just relax and take your mind off it and you'll be okay.'

Smiling, he looked up at the larger boat slowly moving away again, and checked his watch before going back into his normal slightly hyperactive state he was in while on a mission. It was as if it made up for his lazyness in personal matters, by giving him a rush of adrenaline whenever he was doing something important. Thinking it was best not to think about it and be more focused on his work, he jogged over to where the smaller escort boat was being untied and hopped onto the boat, lying back and and closing his eyes, subconsciously flicking the safety switch off on his Colt 1911 handgun. He liked the Colt for some reason despite being against using it unless he had to; It was reliable, easy to pass off as a replica and powerful. Noticing it was going to be a while until the boat was in open water, Seth found a place in the sun to lie down and rested. He really needed a tan anyway, considering he was pale enough to be considered shiny under a white light.

Waking up several minutes later, Seth stood up and yawned slightly, seeing that he'd got sunburn on his left arm.
Damnit.
He looked around only to be shoved aside and by Marv, causing him to lose his balance.
'What the hell?' He said, picking himself up and peering at Marv curiously. Noticing that Marv was looking out across the water for something, he stood up immediately and drew his colt, looking back at the rest of the team mebers on the boat.
'Did you see one?' He asked cautiously scanning the water at the same time, until he noticed a splash in the water and a flash of something, causing him to jerk and nearly drop the handgun.
'Reckon that was a Dolphin?'
He didn't hear Marv's reply due to the flicker of movement reappearing again yet closer to the boat. Just as he was passing it off as a fish, he saw the Mermaid fully appear. Seeing Marv raise his gun, Seth did the same, and thought for a second.

What if this one's friendly? Then again, they don't seem too friendly considering the proof we've had. What about that guy in the morgue? Ripped to shreds. I'm not gonna risk it. All bets are off.

Aiming down the sights of the gun, he aimed for the chest of the Mermaid, hoping to hit the heart. Squeezing the trigger twice in quick succsession and feeling the solid kick of the weapon in his hands, Seth hoped he hadn't made a mistake.

Kundiman had made it back into the client's yacht with little effort considering the hot guy in the jetty was generous enough to help her back onto the deck. She smiled, blew him a kiss and gave him Noelle's number instead of hers to make him stop asking questions. Of course, she was used to men's brains short circuiting when she smiled at them so this was not a surprise. She waved one last time before turning to find Nick nose to nose with another man.

She tilted her head and walked towards them. "Nick? Whatever this man said, I swear I didn't sleep with him so you don't have to fight him for me. And Mister, I understand your need to own me but now just isn't the time. We're in the middle of sushi gathering." she smiled at both of them then shoved the bottled mermaid flesh towards Nick. "I don't want to carry raw anything around anymore so you hold on to this while I call and see what's up with my entourage. I was gonna ask Ri to find out what kind of fish is that but then I realized what would she compare it with? It's not as if we have a sushi databank or whatever they call records now." she sashayed away with that and was headed straight to her room, to wash mermaid flesh essence off her hands when the faint sound of a gunshot caught her attention. She paused halfway down, her hand closing on the wooden railing of the stairs.

She frowned at the sound and then shrugged and went to her room. She went straight to the sink and washed her hands clean. She reapplied sunscreen, her skin didn't like the sun too much and there was nothing more horrible than being red and peeling. She shuddered before whipping up her phone and dialling Ri's number. It wasn't connecting. She walked out of the room and dialled Seth's number instead. It began ringing. She would ask him why on Earth they were making such a racket--

"You! There's been a security breech! You're agency is as inefficient as it seemed!" Donna Morgan was bearing down on her. Kundiman's eyes rounded. The woman seemed extremely agitated. Self preservation took over and she backed away from the crazed woman.

"I'm not part of the security!" she said. "I'm just the girlfriend!" she cried then began starting up the stairs towards the deck, with more people, more saviors and more people to block her from the crazy woman. "It's their job to protect you from outside threats, not inside ones!" she said then breathed a sigh of relief when they cleared the stairs. Where the hell was everybody? It wasn't nice to knock out the client but she would do it if it meant saving herself.

"Do you know what we lost? Those vials are promised to important people! We're missing one and it's all your fault!" the woman launged at her. Kundiman squealed. Client or not, she wouldn't let herself be injured by anyone. She moved out of the way and would have run if the woman didn't grab her hair and pull.

She acted on instinct. No one can just yank her hair and get away with it. She reached around with her right hand then grabbed a fist full of hair and yanked harder. She grabbed the woman's pinky and pried manicured hands off her hair. She turned around, pushed the woman away and added a kick for good measure. Her flip flop clad foot didn't do as much damage as a stilhetto would but perhaps that was a good thing. She assumed another fighting stance and wondered at why the woman wasn't attacking anymore.

"Nick! Croix! Izumi!" she called out. She looked around and noticed that it was almost past sunset. "Nick!" She began again and walked gingerly back towards the stairs where the client might have fallen. She bit her lips at the sight of blood on the railing, almost where her hand had been earlier.

She hear familiar footsteps behind her. "Oh God... I think I killed the client!" she whispered, thinking of the pay she had lost... then thinking it was almost worth it considering the damage the woman almost caused. She patted her hair as she peered around to see how badly the woman looked. The woman was lying on her back, her left shoulder angled rather awkwardly. There was also an ugly gash on her forehead. She looked really dead to Kundiman.

Kundiman gave a startled gasp when she saw the woman on the foot of the stairs... sit up jerkily and then look up at her. "You bitch!" she cried angrily then the gash on her forehead began healing.

"I guess that is proof that they did eat Ariel." someone behind her said.

Izumi had come back with nothing less than... well, nothing. She failed to see anything in the parts of the lower decks. She was about to head upstairs to check the cabins when she saw Kundiman running past her.

A few seconds later, Donna " Morgana the Sea Witch " Morgan, passed by. Izumi smirked and walked behind their supposed client. The woman failed to notice her. She ran to an opposite direction to cut off both Kundi and Morgana. Once she arrived, Kundi was staring in shock as Morgana, her arm in awkward angle and her forehead bleeding, sat up near the foot of the stairs.

"I guess that is proof that they did eat Ariel." she smirked. Izumi took out several throwing knives. " Hey Kundi. Do you want me to take care of this? " She peered over Kundi's shoulder and chuckled. " Heh. Looks like our mermaid wannabe turned out to be a real sea witch. All she needs now is her legs to be replaced with an octopus half. "
