((Imaginative, that sounded wrong, like really really wrong.))
Derrick watched the girl who had helped him try to heal the idiot spill orange juice on someone. He just shrugged and looked back at the girl sitting next to him. He grabbed another napkin and proceded to smear more of it all over his face, not knowing what he was doing.

((Just so you know, Adjectives, I just edited my post a little, so you may want to check how she verbally slashed him...though not intentionally *halo glows above head*))
"Um, I'm Gabriella. But...you can call me Ell." She said after finally coming back with some napkins. She had darted away while he was speaking, but managed to catch his name. Defeated, she set the napkins down next to her. It looked like he had already found some in the mean time. Reflexively she stuck out her hand to shake his, but, realizing that he was mopping up his shirt, she put it back down to her side awkwardly. "So. Really sorry about spilling juice all over you. Really." She racked her brains for some way to change the subject. She didn't want to dwell on her little embarrassing escapade any longer. And this seemed like a really nice boy. He had managed to stay calm - and even friendly - after she had made a complete fool of herself. "So, 're you new here?" Nope. She shouldn't have opened her mouth again; only stupid things seemed to be falling out of it. Why was that? Of course he is new here, you numskull! Everyone is. This school is just opening up. Her eyes darted around, trying to look anywhere other than his. ((Leave it to you Dread to find an innuendo in my comment. And I was simply trying to help you not feel so lonely under those cold sheets at night *smiles sweetly*))

( *Is slashed* *Cry*
) 'Yeah.. I'm new here.' Joshua smiled, although is was obvious. Wonder what's wrong with her.. He thought. Joshua looked the girl up and down, taking in her expressions and movements. Seems a little sleepless.. tired. Seems nice. Funny, actually. A bit of a character too. 'Don't be sorry, it was only an accident. Actually, I should be apologizing. If I slightly bewildered you for a moment, animorphing.' Joshua said, sliding a hand into his pocket, occasionally glancing down at his freckled light orange shirt.

((Sorry it took me so long to respond. Had a heart-to-heart with my sister.))
"Oh gosh, you don't have to be that nice! You did get your shirt ruined, after all." And then something clicked - her eyes lit up with excitement. His shirt...color...my room. That's it! I know exactly how to bring a little life into my courters. The line had moved relatively fast while they were standing there talking, and there was now a gaping hole between Joshua and those in front of him. Ell nudged him on the shoulder and pointed to the space before him to insinuate that he should move along. She had food to eat and places to go now. And she didn't want to risk saying anything more at the moment...who knew what verbal catastrophe lay in store for her next. She liked this boy though, and hoped he would want to sit by her while they ate. Maybe she could tell him her ideas and have an accomplice; she wasn't exactly sure if the school would allow her to 'redecorate' to the extent she imagined, and she would need some help sneaking around. Somehow she would have to invite him to sit by her first, a verbal feat she wasn't sure she could manage without injuring him in some way...

'I.. wasn't really that hungry anyway. Aslong as I have time, I'll just go.. change shirts.' Joshua said, placing the napkins onto the counter and gesturing the line to continue in front of him.
'I'll see you later. I'm in room one hundred if you need me.' He said, his body cracking forward and changing it's structure completely into a dog. The dog strode along the clean floors, the paws' nails screeching along it at a high pitch. Walking to the door, it walked through as someone pushed through on the other side.

"Bye," she waved at the dog disappearing through the door. Well, at least I don't have to worry about speaking to him until after I have had some nourishment. Perhaps then I'll be in better control of my actions. She took her tray of scrambled eggs, toast, and half-drank orange juice to an empty table nearby. My, how nice to meet you, Mr. Table! Speaking of the weather, talk about sunny... she mused to pass the time. Her eggs tasted steamy, the orange juice too sour, and the toast to dry and slathered with "I can't believe it's not butter," something she despised. The truth was, not much would have tasted good that morning save a nice tub of Moose Tracks. She just felt...lonely. Lonely? Why do i feel lonely? It's not like I didn't manage for years without anyone. Perhaps companionship was one of those things you never really missed until you had found it. And it wasn't like she had found much, just a boy that she spilled orange juice on. But it was something, and that made all the difference.
Feeling unsettled by her puzzling emotions, she swigged down the last bit of juice and hurried back up the stairs to her room. BOOM. Room 100. Right at the top of the stairs. She hadn't planned for that variable when she thought about leaving the cafeteria. Circuits were frying in her brain right now, she just knew it. Haywire; out of control; she was certain she could hear a ringing in her ears. I guess my hearing will be the first thing to go as my brain fries... she thought calmly, as if she was an outside observer to the whole catastrophe going on in her head that was nervousness. Not sure what to do, she sat down on the ground, with her back against the wall and looking out at room 100, pinning her knees to her chest. She couldn't approach him, but she couldn't go to her room either. She was so new to all this. What to do, what to do... She just really hoped he didn't come out of his room and catch her there. But actually she did hope he would. She didn't know what she wanted anymore.

Joshua finished buttoning up his black shirt, leaving the top button down.
Looking into the long mirror stuck on his tall oak cupboard, he turned away to his minibar, sat on his metallic silver corner table sat in the corner of the room. Opening it up, he took out a can of coke and placed it against his wall-to-wall window ledge. -- (Check my earlier posts to read my room description. I included it early on in the RPG. It'd help set the scene.) -- Joshua pushed his window open with a slight difficulty, and sat on the ledge of the window holding onto the can of coke, glaring down upon the people below in the freshly-cut courtyard. I'm hungry. Better not go back downstairs whilst that same group of people are in the dining hall. Look like an idiot. Storming out there in a dog form. Quite funny though. And a quicker way upstairs. He thought, smiling. I can swear I heard someone before morphing outside.. He subconciously thought.

Derrick yawned and stood up. "Well, I'm goin' ta sleep," he said, walking out the door and up the stairs. When he got to the top, though, he saw a girl sitting against the wall staring at a door. Hey, wait, thats... what was her name? Ell? "Uh... Ell, was it?" he asked, walking up to her.

"Yes, that's right." Ell looked up at the boy, a little out of it from focusing so long on her own anxiety. "What brings you up this way?" she asked, getting up. It felt a little too strange to be sitting on the ground while his strong features hovered above her. She felt like she would be stepped on any moment had she stayed the way she was.
