Master Dravis nodded, motioning to her not to be so hasty as he let his poultice soak into the bandages, Halt's wound would be assisted greatly by its herbal magic. He let a small self-satisfied smirk at his favorite creation. It was a rare smirk, and one that few would see, as most of his work was done under the guise of a mask or in private. Assured that the bandage wouldn't leak any of it out, he nodded again, taking Halt's other arm and swinging it over his sholder. He wasn't weak, a healer's job more than what would think.
Giving only a small hmph, he lifted Halt up with Adriana on one side, purposefully taking most of the weight for himself, as he didn't want to strain a coleauge's patient. No doubt Skylax had ordered her to keep restful and away from strenuous work. No doubt she paid no mind to the order, but completely ignoring the order was foolishness. He began to move with her towards the unconscious dragon rider's room only pausing next to his bed to allow Adriana to put him on the bed, assisting wherever possible.

Klassh had laid down next to the hole in Halts home. He watched as Adriana and the head Healer Master Dravis help his rider to the bed that Adriana was once using.
His neck wrapped around his body until he looked like a large ball from over head. His head looking directly into the house. He looked at his rider... the last time he fainted from loss of blood... was when he fought Vanthm along with his Mentor. When they barely escaped. He Watched as Adriana sat on the bed and yawned. he then said softly "Don't feel too terrible about what has happened. Kalib will survive... Merion had learned his lesson.... I hope. And Halt will find reason to fight once again. Once you tell him about what happened to you..." Klassh lifted his great head and looked to where Brisinger was and Merion. "You might want to thank the hot headed boy as well.... He has been quiet since the battle..." |

"Don't feel too terrible about what has happened. Kalib will survive... Merion had learned his lesson.... I hope. And Halt will find reason to fight once again. Once you tell him about what happened to you..." Klassh lifted his great head and looked to where Brisinger was and Merion. "You might want to thank the hot headed boy as well.... He has been quiet since the battle..."
Adriana looked to the left of them, where Klassh was speaking to her while he rested his head on the ground. For the first time, Klassh seemed tired to her. “I'll do all of that tomorrow,” She promised, wishing still that Klassh would just tell Halt what had happened instead of herself. Didnt he understand how hard it was for her to even think about what had happened at Vanthm's castle? “Tomorrow.” She repeated it to herself, to confirm in her mind that she would in fact talk to Halt about it the next day. Or...whenever he woke up. Adriana stood up and moved to the opposite side of the bed of where Halt was laying, then she curled up at the very edge of the matress to sleep. She wanted to give him his space, so she kept as far as possible. She didnt need a blanket, since the warm breath of Klassh hovered into the room and heated the area for her.

Klassh watched as Adriana got into the same bed as Halt... He smiled when he thought what Halt would think in the morning. Closing his eyes he slowly went to sleep...perhaps Halt will be up tomorrow... He was always stronger than most...
(Ok, I am just going to skip to morning, if anyone else needs to post in the night do so and I can wait...) A wooden board... that what Halt felt like he was sleeping on...Why? Wasn't he on the chair? Did he fall off while he slept? Halt tried to open his eyes, though they felt like they were sealed shut. He lifted his arm to clear the morning crud from his eyes, only to wince in pain. His side hurt little...but his entire body was rock hard. As if the strain of the last two days made his muscles to tight to move. He sighed and slowly moved his arm up so he could clear his eyes... it was hard..but it didn't hurt anymore. His left shoulder was out of place...he slept on it awkwardly again... He will have to deal with that later. Once the crud was cleared from his eyes he looked around...he was on his bed.... so it was his back that felt like a wooden board. He noticed someone next to him, Seeing it was Adriana he felt kinda awkward. Not that he didn't mind... only that he usually didn't share his bed with anyone... He tried to sit up but that only made him flinch and jerk, shaking the bed as he did. Great...now he just woke her up... Klassh had woken when he felt Halt's mind open once again. He didn't say anything, but smiled at seeing his riders idiocy. "You sure took your time to wake up...Its five hours past the time you usually wake..." "Shut up." Halt said softly. But he smiled at hearing Klassh's voice again. |

There was a brief meeting, and a general overall sigh from the elvish healers. The surgery had went well, and the boy seemed completely fine in his mind...excepting an expected dose of post-traumatic stress. The boy's shoulder was covered on its front and back with two quite visible metal plates, almost as if a cylinder of metal had just been pushed through the wound. He was conscious and aware, and the only medical mystery in the room was the strange white dragon licking over his face almost puppy-like.
Dravis had been contacted later in the night and had retreated back to talk with Kalib, relieving Kari of the privilege with a solemn nod. Kari smiled and ran back, for what seemed the fortieth time, to the home to give a report on the news. Seeing that no one was quite awake at the moment, she took the time to stare in awe at the majestic sight of the full adult dragons that she could see. They were magnificent beings. It was a pity she didn't know anything of their physiology, or else she'd treat them too...it'd be such a privilege.

Merion squated down, his face redder than an apple, sweat dropping down his face. His swords in his hands, Brisingrs tail whipped around infront of him. *Come on!* Brisingr growled into Merions mind, laying in the same spot he was that night. The end of Brisingr's tail was harder than rock and could withstand the impact of a blade. Merion stared at the two blades he held in his hands, Halt's present on the day they both fought Vanthm.
*I SAID COME ON!* Brisingr lashed the tail at Merion, who instinctivley rolled to his left, avoiding the tail. "Gotta be faster than that..." He growled outloud to Brisingr, who pulled his tail back torward Merion who jumped over it with ease. Brisingr pulled his tail back, working the end of it like a sword, *Ready...?* He asked, but didn't gain a response. Merion slowly stepped backward, crouched down with both blades out infront of him. Brisingr shot his tail at Merions chest, and he immedtiately parried it away though it threw him off balance. "BITCH!" He yelled, feeling his balance leave him. *GOTCHA!* Brisingr roared, slamming his tail into Merions chest, knocking him to the ground, hard. The ground shook as his tail made impact with the ground, knocking the breath out of Merion in the process. This had been going on for the past 4 hours, though Merion had been doing fairly well... but he was losing energy pretty quickly. Brisingr raised his tail, Merion immediately turning over on his stomach and getting on his hands and knees, coughing like a 10 year smoker. "Think you broke a rib this time..." Merion shot out in between breaths, feeling a throbing pain around his sternum. *Wha wha whaaaaaa* Brisingr said childlishly, smacking Merion on the side of his head with his tail. *Get up... got some more to do...* Brisingr loathingly added, drawing circles in the dirt with his gargantuan claw. Merion stood up, and the same thing would go on over and over again, though he didn't get knocked down quite as often, getting a second wind.

Adriana felt movement in the bed, and with a soft yawn she turned over with a smile. As soon as she spotted Halt her smile faded, and she slipped out of the bed quickly. Honestly, she hadnt planned to sleep there the entire night. She had laid down thinking things over, and before she had realized what was happening she became drowsy and fell asleep.
In the back of her mind she could hear Draken laughing, and briefly she glanced over her shoulder to see Klassh and Draken peering in at them through the gap in the wall. Draken's mouth was open in a wide grin, but really his fangs were showing. Breifly she made eye contact with Klassh, and knew that she was obligated to sort of tell Halt her story with Vanthm. A little privacy please. She glowered at both of the dragons, and waved her hands at them to shoo them away. It must have looked humorous, to see a woman pushily shooing dragons. If there hadnt been a whole chunk missing out of the wall she wouldnt have minded them even peering through windows. However, with them staring down at them without anything in between...she just wouldnt be able to converse that way. “Halt, Klassh has pressured me to tell you a few things about my past...care to hear it now while your still resting from your injuries?” Adriana turned in mid-sentence and clasped her hands behind her back. During the night her ribbon had fallen out onto the matress, leaving her flaming hair to fall down the middle of her back. Her green eyes were still obviously sleepy, but she was trying to wake herself up so that she could get through the day. There was just so much for her to do. First, she needed to speak to Halt about what had happened to her with Vanthm. Then, she desperately wanted to go visit Kalib and beg for his forgiveness for being unconcious while he was vulnerable to being harmed. After all of that, she needed to have yet another talk...except this time with Merion.

Klassh Raised his head as she started to shoo both him and Draken away... He looked to Draken..." Looks like she wants to be alone with Halt..." The tone of his voice was indicating something more....Romantic, he had let Adriana hear him but he quickly moved away before she could do anything...
Halt looked at his side, and touched it gently. He then looked to Adriana..."Do I have any choice in the matter?" Seeing how he couldn't get out of bed...But he really did want to more about her... He tried to sit up slowly and rest against the backboard. it took him a bit but he managed. |

Adriana dipped her head some when Klassh's tone of voice indicated that she was wanting to be alone for romance. That wasnt the matter, and he knew it. However, his joking wasnt making the situation any better for her. She didnt like talking about how Vanthm had gotten the best of her. It made her feel helpless and vulnerable all over again.
"Do I have any choice in the matter?" She raised her head, and let out a little pathetic laugh. “I guess you dont.” Unclasping her hands from behind her back she sat at the edge of the bed, but gave him room. She still couldnt believe that she had allowed herself to fall asleep in his bed. Was he mad at her? Or was his frowning face just a reaction to his aching wounds? “Vanthm captured me successfully before, and when he did...he revelled in the thought of it.” This was when she averted her eyes, unable to look at Halt's face. It was so shameful. “He beat me, tortured me...and kept me somewhere between death and barely living for two months. He even...” No, she couldnt say it...at least not out loud. rra...uh, has his way with me. Her voice, now in his mind only, sounded strained and close to tears. Her face reflected the tone in her mental voice, and for a moment it looked as if she were about to burst out in tears. However, as a dragon rider, she forced herself to stay strong. “And when he was sure that I was completely broken to his will...he marked me.” Adriana reached out, and with a surprising grip she grabbed his wrist. Closing her meadow-green eyes she focused a memory into Halt's mind. A flash of red, and then the setting settled to show a man dressed completely black and a girl with flaming hair lying chained to a sofa-type furnature. Across her back was the beginning outline of what would become a very elaborate tattoo of a 'V' on her back. Then, the red returned and the picture of the girl and the man vanished. Adriana let go of his wrist, and sat back from him even more. She could have just turned around and showed him the tattoo on her back, but she figured that it wasnt the best thing to do after waking up in his bed and telling him about Vanthm. Now that she had everything out and off of her chest, she felt worse. There was no way for her to tell how Halt would react, and besides Klassh and Draken demanding that she told him...she wasnt even sure why she had spoken up about it in the first place. Was it even relevant? “Eventually I got away,” To that day she wasnt even sure how she had found the strength to escape. Perhaps it was from her knowing that Draken had been out there, waiting and fighting for her safety and freedom.
