Kalib didn't hear the voice calling out to him. He still ran deeper into the forest, focused on his own safety as he reached the thicker woods. However, he did hear a powerful whoosh to the east, and inhaled in fear as, through a break in the trees, he observed some other flying creature rising into the air.

"Monsters with swords...monsters with wings...what am I going to do, Ki?" he worriedly asked the stone in his shirt. The stone's pulsing and its light to Kalib's eyes flickered a bit, as if to giggle. Kalib shook his head to gather his senses and forged deeper into the brush, a hollowed out tree stump surrounded by mint bushes in front of him.

He jumped down the tree's stump into his most established hiding spot ever. A small foxhole-like cave was inside it, dimly lit by the pillar of light from the entrance. It had a small bag of gold in the corner, a sword he had stolen, more as a trophy than a tool or item of value, and a spot where he now went to and sat. He held his breath, the cavern's only weakness being its amplification of sound, as the mint hid his scent and the sight of the hollowed stump.

Halt had felt the presence and knew where it was...about. He had to pull away and duck as an arrow flew past where his head once was.

He swore and grabbed the branch below him with his right hand, for his left was holding his bow, and used gravity to swing his body to the next branch below him and slightly farther deep into the forest by three meters. He then turned around when he was balanced and pulled the bowstring back. The feathers on his arrow slightly tickled his ear but he barely felt it. By this time Adriana was already in the air and Draken had set the forest ablaze.

Halt felt the presence some were directly in front of him. but he couldn't tell for the shot was far and the trees blocked him. He took a faith shot, as his mentor loved to call it. The general area was known, but the target is either to far or covered by the trees or stones around him. The arrow suddenly shot forth into the trees before him, flying right by the fire creature.

A little trick Halt learn was to take at least two more shots and moving the bow slightly right/left and/or up and down. With incredible speed, Halt knocked another arrow and fired slightly down and very slightly his right, then took another shot slightly to his left and up a tiny bit more than the first.

Klassh then roared to Halts mind. "Hurry up fool! Just because I can breath fire doesn't mean I can withstand it from something else!" Halt simply ran along the branch and jumped onto Klassh's back as he jumped into the air.

Lenira cast a worried glance at Merion and then nodded towards the dragon.

"I um...think we should be going...maybe?" She said, a small sound of amusement in her voice. She indicated the quickly growing fire on the hillside with a wave of her hand, her eyes glowing a light red in the light from the flames.

"Can you walk or should I carry you, human?" She meant no disrespect, it was just how she identified others when she was annoyed or in a hurry, and this definately qualified as being in a hurry.

Moryn saw the arrows flying towards him with incredible accuracy - he was not worried though. The rider was clever to shoot a few offset arrows in the event that his foe dodged. But Moryn was a bit more adept at avoiding things than most - he shadow jumped to a tree near where the arrows had emerged from. As he did so the great dragon leapt into the air as his rider hopped onto it. In another flash Moryn was directly below the beast, he knocked a venomed arrow and let it fly towards the lizards under belly.

All the while the fire golem caused havoc in the camp. The dragons blast of wind hindered it - but once it was able to move it resumed the climb upwards - setting everything it touched alight. The top of the mountain was quickly becoming a roaring fire ball.

Moryn realized that this was not the ideal way to capture his prey. Not waiting to see if his attack was a success he began quickly stepping down the hillside before the fires light consumed all means of escape.

The leading Ra’zac growled whenever there was no answer. Perhaps the boy was too far away to hear him. Or then again, maybe the human was still afraid of being captured. Personally, the Ra’zac didn’t blame him, but in truth the boy was being offered a great opportunity. He was being offered security on the King’s side and the chance to no longer be hunted.

The group then traveled on towards the sound of Kalib’s footsteps, and after the sound of his footsteps stopped they tracked him by smell until they were by a group of rocks and a tree trunk. Then they couldn’t smell him anymore. However, they were smart enough to know that since they couldn’t smell his tracks anymore, he was close by.

A sound drew the group’s attention to a mountain far, very far off in the distance. They could see a tiny outline of something flying through the air, and from the distance they were from it…it had to be dragons. “Two of you go and tell the king” The leading Ra’zac ordered, and when two of his men started back off towards the castle as a run, he spoke up once more. ((It is actually dark where the other characters are, so in reality they wouldn’t have been able to see the dragons. However, I went along with your post.))

“Like I said before, human. I know you’re here somewhere…so listen closely. If you do not come out from wherever you are now, we will have to come in after you. The king wishes for you to join him, and we have been sent to fetch you. Make it easier for us all and reveal yourself.”

Draken was only setting a few trees on the mountain-side afire, but a couple of harmless flames ignited below when bits of flaming tree fell down on the forest below. However, as soon as the little flames got to the forest floor…they went out since they had gotten too cold to continue to blaze on the way down.

Hm, perhaps you should invest in a bow. Draken mused, watching arrow’s fly from the mountainside as they skimmed the area for the attacker. Perhaps, Adriana full-heartedly agreed.

With the lights from the fire barely flickering across his green and gold scales, Draken truly looked intimidating. Adriana let go of the saddle long enough to pull her hair back, not wanting any hot ashes to singe her strands. Since Halt was now amongst the tree’s, Draken stopped shooting fire so that a member of their own group wouldn’t get hurt or hindered.

Kalib hesitated. He didn't know what other side there was. What would he gain? What would he lose? What was it that the king wanted of him? Surely Ki wasn't that important. Why would the king send a messenger so vile? Why not a human guard? What if it were a trick? What if these monsters weren't with the king?

Kalib had no guarantees, and no hope. He needed more information. His options, his identity, his world...Ki. It seemed everything boiled down to Ki. What was Ki if it wasn't just a rock?

Ki would have laughed if it didn't know Kalib wanted silence. She was ready, but he wasn't.

Halt gripped his stomach as he felt a small slice go across his stomach, but no arrow had hit him. He quickly looked at Klassh, "KLASSH are you alright!?"

Klassh growled and said, "Don't worry about me fool!" with that said Klassh spun his head around and let a large cold blast of ice shoot from his mouth, quickly killing the flame beast.

Klassh then told Brisnger and Draken to follow him. With out waiting for their responses Klassh folded his wings and let the gravity to let his huge bulk fall. He shot down the cliff like an arrow until he reached the top of the forest below, where he opened his wings and caught himself just in time. But because of the fall it had quickly accelerated him to his fastest speed in a matter of a hundred yards. But he continued to flap his wings to keep the speed up. Who ever this attacker was, he was fast, but not fast enough to keep up with a dragon.

Halt could feel the same pain of the poison that Klassh was feeling, but was not worried. Dragons always had a higher resistance to any poison, they would last much longer than a human, even a elf.

Halt then reached out to the riders and the vampire "Are you all alright? It looks like we just ran in with a Dragon hunter. A good one at that, he got Klassh just as we were making our escape."

After they would fly for ten minutes at the same pace, Klassh and Halt would slow down finally and turn quickly right. He then said, "If that hunter is still following us, better not to fly in a straight line." To Adriana and Marion."

The Ra’zac leader waited for the boy to answer, and when he didn’t he began listening really carefully and inhaling more deeply. All he could smell was the last trace of the boy vanishing amongst a bunch of bushes. The leading Ra’zac shoved his sword through the bushes, just to make sure that the human wasn’t hiding there, but when he heard no screams and didn’t hear anything solid he gave up on the area.

The Ra’zac species were known for their heightened senses. He could smell the human near…he just couldn’t pin point where he was. “We will set up camp here. He is somewhere around here…and he has to shift sometime.” The leader whispered so that no one else but the other two could hear him.

They both nodded their ugly heads, and took a seat on nearby rocks.

Yes, were fine…Let’s get away from this place, Halt. The empire isn’t that far to the North, so we were definitely probably seen. Is your dragon going to be all right? Adriana asked Halt through his mind, keeping a tight hold on Draken’s saddle but mainly allowing him to zig-zag his way around, but while keeping up with Halt as well.

Guards from the empire most definitely saw the fire on top of the mountain, and they probably were going to have more hunters on their asses before too long. That is…unless they managed to get far away from the city. A good thing about being a Rider was that…since Dragons flew, it was hard for anyone to track you.

The wind whipped the little strands that had escaped her ponytail out of her face. Since she had high cheekbones and almond shaped bright blue eyes, she held two very attractive features. From the speed they were traveling, her midnight blue cloak fluttered behind her. She hopped that it wouldn’t take long to find an isolated area, she was beginning to get worn out.

Moryn watched the sky as the great shadows of the dragons zig-zagged into the distance. It wasn't long before night consumed their forms and he could not longer see them.

It didn't really matter to him though, hopefully his arrow got the dragon. They would have hours before the venom was too worked in to be removed, and if they thought they were being chased they may not settle down to inspect the causes of pain. Luck and time was all that Moryn needed to have claimed that one.

He turned his direction to the great city - the King had to know about this small band of riders, solo riders were easy to take care of, but a group of three was a problematic situation. If they attracted more then surely the situation would become more dire.

Moryn hastily moved towards the castle, he had a meeting with the King and hunting dragons could wait.

Merion smiled lightly at the vampire as Brisingir rose higher and higher, "Sorry I didn't speak much earlier..." He made a motion of something coming out of his mouth, turned around slightly.

"It's nice to meet you Lenira... This is Brisingr..." He patted the side of Brisingr's neck heavily, "and I'm Merion."

His stomach and head began to calm as the wind whipped around his face and hair. He opened his mind to the other riders, *We are completely fine and so is Lenira...Where are we going?* He whispered in their minds, wanting to at least have a thought of where they were going. Brisingir took a sharp turn to the right, keeping on the tail of Klassh, *Getting better at that now aren't we...?* He spoke to Brisingir. *Yes... yes it seems that way...* Brisingr's sarcastic voice rang in his head like a chime.
