War…
Lost lives…
The fire that tears lovers apart…
The flames of war are ablaze once again…

It has been a hundred years since the rein of the dragons. Elves have reappeared on the continent of Alengesta; the most famous was Cairn Amandil, the one who slew the Black dragon Acharon. Peace thrived since that day for a hundred years. Haltia, a small but powerful military country, was suddenly over throne by elf named Aaron. Along with his wife Leah he ruled Haltia justly. But he sent his army’s out to concur the entire lower half of Alengesta. The army’s stopped at the boarder of Melchior and was silent for 50 more years. The kingdom of Haltia was no more, it was now known as The Empire of Haltia. At the end of the fifty years, spies from Melchior reported to their king of troop movements towards their boarder. The king of Melchior sent letters to all the kingdoms in the northern part of Alengesta. The kingdom of Larendos, The kingdom of Corridia, The kingdom of Servia, to the elves in Linwood, and even to the Dwarfs in the Cora Mountains. All the kingdoms banded together to form the Alliance, to stop the empire from gaining more land, and perhaps make them lose some of their concurred land. An elf, who lost everything dear to him, prior to rise of the empire will be one of the few who will help destroy the empire.

(All kingdoms except for the Linwood are human kingdoms. Unless otherwise stated ex. Corridia)

The Empire of Haltia

The Empire of Haltia started off as a small kingdom renowned for its extremely well trained soldiers. The kingdom was thriving and land was growing scarce, due to the rise of the population. The people looked to the king for answers, but the king was old and weak and would not go to war to expand his boarders. The people were angry with this and demanded a new king that would solve their problems. An elf named Aaron appeared and offered Glory for Haltia, he promised that he would be a kind and just ruler if they supported him. The people of Haltia agreed and helped overthrow the king. Once Aaron was in the position to take over the throne he did not due it with his sword, but his kindness. He gave the king the chance to live out his days in the castle. The people loved Aaron even more because of his mercifulness. Aaron lived up to his word started to attack kingdom’s for their land, he was also a very kind and just ruler to his people, just like he promised. This act seemed to fuel the army’s of Haltia and they soon concurred the entire lower half of Alengesta. But for some reason they stopped at the boarders of Melchior.

The Kingdom of Melchior
The kingdom of Melchior was known for their fierce warriors as well as their diplomacy with all the kingdoms. The king of Melchior prepared his people for war as the Empire grew closer to their boarders, but when the empire stopped suddenly this caused the people to get nervous. For the past fifty years they have continued to build their army, knowing that one-day the Empire will attack.

The kingdom of Corridia
The kingdom of Corridia is a beautiful country whose Royal families were now made up of elves. The people did not care for that because the King and queen were fair to them. But the king and queen have been grieving for fifty years because their daughter Adriane was killed, along with her husband and daughter in the kingdom of Durloscus. When the kingdom of Melchior sends letters asking for help, they offer it with out any convincing.

The Kingdom of Larendos
Though large the kingdom of Larendos does not have a strong army. Its monarchy is based more upon a republic. The king of Larendos had trouble convincing his people to help their neighboring kingdom Melchior. But when he finally did after a few months of debating, he sent his best knights.

The kingdom of Servia
The kingdom of Servia was the most peaceful out of the four northern kingdoms. But they do have a small armada of fast warships used for both carrying supplies and what little troops they had.

The Kingdom of Durloscus
The kingdom of Durloscus was the place where Cairn Amandil ruled after saving the human princess Serenity. It was mysteriously destroyed before the empire began to rise. The entire royal family was killed along with all of the people in one night. There are rumors that the place is cursed, so no one dares goes in.

The Linwood
The Linwood is a huge forest where the elves fled to during the rein of the dragons. Many people soon thought that Elves were a fairy tale, until Cairn an elf, killed Acharon, the most dangerous Dragon. The Linwood is a magical forest, due to the occupants inside of it. Elves are the only Race able to control the ancient language.

(Please go to my site The Dragon Elf | Character profiles and look under Against all odds to see maps of Alengesta and the characters I created…if any questions ask me in the OOC Against all odds thread. Remember this will go into my book, so if you bring your own personal character into it you must tell me that it is alright for me to use him.)
(Also If you pick the Alliance, dont just pick Melchior for your kingdom, try to spice it up by comeing from different kingdoms)

Aerandir- Capital city Meloss, kingdom of Melchior, Palace, out side of throne room-

A figure in a dark green cloak stood on the balcony of the Melchior palace looking south. He let out a tired sigh; he was waiting for the hearing with the King. “He is sure taking his sweet time…” he said softly to himself. The Elvin Council in Linwood sent him here, mostly because he had experience in dealing with kings for most of his life.

A breeze came by and played with his dark cloak by making it flap out behind him. This revealed his muscular body, highly tuned for war. He wore a dark green tunic that had black along the hems and on the V-neck. He wore elfin chain mail under the tunic that made no sound as he moved, due to tiny strips of black leather intertwined through every ring. He wore a gold plated gauntlet that ended at his elbow. His right arm only had a dark brown leather gauntlet that ended at his elbow as well. He wore long black leather boots that ended right below his knee, with brown hunting pants tucked into them. On his left hip he wore a beautiful elfin Bastard sword with two emeralds on it. One triangle shaped emerald imbedded in the gold cross guard and the other sphere shaped emerald in the pommel of the hilt. A small gold necklace was tied right below the cross guard on which a small ring dangled back and forth at his movements.

His ears heard footsteps on the white marble floor behind him. He turned around and saw one of the Melchiorian Knights standing there. “The king wishes to speak with you now M’lord.”

Aerandir closed his eyes and gritted his teeth. He hated being called that; He much preferred to be called a worm than to be called “M’lord” He waved his hand in the direction of the knight, “Well tell your king he has to wait for me now.” He smiled as he saw the knight’s face go pale.

”I …uh… Can…” The Knight started to say.

”Oh calm down I was only joking!” He walked towards the Knight. “Well come on then, lead the way!”

Aaron-Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, throne room -

The emperors sat on his throne listening to his war advisors go on with reports of how well the preparations for the up coming war were coming along. He looked to his Grand general and said, “General Malin, What of the preparations for the main army? I heard of some reports that you are barely doing anything, besides the usual training that has happened for the past 50 years. Can you explain yourself?”

General Malin, who was an older member of the war council, stood up and bowed his head “M’lord, The men are at their finest… But I don’t think we should go on, we have more than enough land it will just bring more deaths to innocent lives.”

The emperor looked at him. “General Malin, as one of my most trusted advisors, you surprise me… I do this for the glory of Haltia. If you cannot share the same dream then you are dismissed from your position as Grand general. Go and live out your days with your family.”

The General, or now Ex Grand General bowed to the emperor and said, “As you wish…” He then turned and left the throne room.

It was silent for a few moments as the Emperor thought. “Hmmm now who should I chose to be the grand General… “ He looked to his war advisors, none of them had the quality’s of a General like Malin… He looked to Capitan Vernnal “Capitan! I want you to find some one in the main army who has the potential to become an even greater general than Malin.” He then looked to everyone else in the room and then said, “I am done with reports for today, please leave me.”

Leah - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, bedroom -

It was late in the afternoon when her eyes slowly fluttered open. She was completely alone in the room; no surprise there as she had yelled at everyone the night before to get out. That is, until she passed out of course. She was lying in a bed with silk blankets, though thick and warm that sent a chill up her spine when she tried to move. Her mind played over the events that had happened the night before as her eyes fell back closed.

The pain, the horrible pain that ripped through her. The many people that were rushing around the room, holding towels and blankets. One woman was at her head to her right, one at her feet while two others were holding her legs apart. They were all wearing short white dresses, nurses. The woman at her head smelled of lilies. Her hair was red and curled outwards at the ends. She held a pale yellow cloth and was dabbing her forehead. All of them were yelling one simple word to her at the same time: push. Her breathing was off, her hands clutching the blankets underneath her as she burned between her legs. Then everything grew fuzzy, and then black. It had to have been only a few minutes later when she had awoken, but the next thing she knew she was holding a small, fragile form wrapped in a blanket, a little boy. She did not remember anything after that beside the child being taken away from her after uttering the name it would be. Damien.

Her eyes slowly opened, she had not remembered seeing Aaron in there, only a bunch of women. Then again, she had not been too focused on who was in there and only getting the child out of her. Taking a deep breath, she turned her head against the pillow to see a child's crib a few feet from the bed. It was wooden, glossy, with a pale blue blanket inside. It was a struggle, but she managed to get up from the bed. The sheets were absolutely clean from all blood and other fluids, as was her form and her nightgown. They must have changed everything, and washed her off as well as the child. Moving over very slowly, for she was still very weak, she got to the side of the crib and looked down. Her right hand reached over, thumb brushing across the baby's left cheek. In an instant, the child's eyes opened and gave her a look that made her want to cry. He had Aaron's eyes.

Aaron - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, hallways -

Aaron rubbed his eyes after his Advisors left and then got up himself and left from a side door into the hallway. He had been up all night worrying about Leah and the baby. He had heard from one of the nurses that the baby was a healthy young lad, and that his name was Damien.

When Aaron was standing outside of the bedroom he had heard Leah screaming at the nurses to get out. He remembered thinking. “Phew…glad I am not in there at the moment." He smiled at the thought. When he had worked up the courage to go in, Leah had already fallen asleep, most likely from exhaustion. He had sat on the bed for an hour running his hand through her silky brown hair. She looked so peaceful when she slept. He had decided to let her have the bed for that night so he would not wake her in the morning.

It was late in the afternoon and the day was warm, surely Leah would be up by now. He slowly made his way to their bedroom, his black leather boots making no sound on the marble floors. When he reached his room he reached out and pushed it open slowly.

Aaron - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, bedroom -

When Aaron entered the room the lighting was dark, due to the curtains pulled almost shut. He looked at the bed and saw that Leah was not there, when his eyes continued looking he saw her standing over a small crib, with her hand placed on Damien’s cheek. He smiled and walked silently over to her and wrapped his arms under hers and clasped them together over her stomach. His dark silver eyes full of love for this one woman. “How are you my love?" He whispered into her ear. He then kissed her on the side of her head and then held her close to him.

He looked down to his son, Damien… He saw small light silver eyes looking back at the both of them. Aaron then noticed something on Damien’s right arm. It looked like a birthmark but it wrapped around his tiny forearm twice before ending at his elbow. He reached down slowly and lifted his son into his arms. He then looked closer and new that he was not seeing things… “Leah… I think we may have a slight problem…" He looked to her to see her reaction to the mark.

Aerandir- Capital city Meloss, kingdom of Melchior, Palace, Throne room -

Aerandir followed the knight to the grand doors and they opened as they just in time so they would not have to stop walking. As they passed the threshold he saw that four men, two on each side of the door had opened it for them. He then looked forward and saw white. The throne room was made up of white marble. There were great arches on the sides of the room to go out onto a balcony that wrapped around the entire room. They were walking upon a crimson carpet that led all the way to the king and Queen’s throne. The knight had stopped ten feet in from the door and looked to Aerandir as if saying to go on.

Aerandir raised an eyebrow and continued walking towards the king, who was standing at the top of a small flight a stairs. The king opened his arms in welcome. “Ah welcome, welcome… sorry to keep you waiting.”

Aerandir bowed his head “It is alright, it gave me time to remember how to act in front of a human king."

The king smiled only slightly at the comment and then said softly, “Oh of course…” He walked down the four steps and asked, “So what does the council of the elves reply to my request for help?”

Aerandir looked back up and said, “The Elvin people offer some of their finest warriors to help you in the war against the empire. But they are few in numbers, it was all they could spare… our race is still not like what it used to be before the dragons."

The king nodded “Still a few Elvin warriors on our battle field would help greatly.” He bowed and said, “Please tell the council that I am truly grateful for their help.”

Aerandir bowed his head again. “I will do so M’lord." He turned, ready to head back to his quarters so he could rest until he heard.

”Please I am not done yet… I was thinking… this war would not end quickly enough if we trying to go through the Empires entire army. So I have decided to form a small squad to help with that. This small squad will go behind enemy lines and attack important targets, targets that would cripple the Empires advancement into my kingdom.”

Aerandir turned around slowly and said softly, “So what does this have to do with me M’lord?" Though he knew the answer already.

”I want you to be the leader of that squad. I have heard that you are already a very hardened veteran in passed wars. Your expertise would benefit greatly there.”

Aerandir thought about it for a moment. “As you wish M’lord." He bowed his head to the king.

The king smiled “Great! You will meet your team tomorrow early in the morning. Good luck!”

Aerandir said nothing but turned and walked out of the throne room. “I’m going to need it.” He said to himself.

~Selena, Capital city Meloss, kingdom of Melchior, Palace, Throne room ~

At the summons of the king to appear in the throne room did she move with a slow walk that carried no sound, her eyes settled upon the man departing the throne room ahead of her. Head bowed in a greeting at their passing as locks of blond hair would fall around her shoulders in slow waves before drifting back to fall along the small of her back.

Selena drifted past the stranger to enter into the throne room, her steps not picking up step but moving along steadily, and silent carrying her passed the doors into the throne room. A hand reached out did she push one door then the second of the double doors closed behind her with a click of their shutting echoing through the silence of the room. Turning did she move acrossed the room at a slow pace, her eyes darting about the room did she observe the guards in the room for a moment to see if there was any slack amongst them.

" My king, you wished my presence?" she would ask in a soft tone, her body bowing as she spoke in respect to her overlords power. As she slowly raised would she stand silent there now to await reply or a signal to step to the side for the moment to await her turn. Selena's eyes darted to observe the faces for a time as her body stayed still were it had stopped to bow when speaking.

The king -Capital city Meloss, kingdom of Melchior, Palace, Throne room-

The king looked over to the woman Selena who was now bowing in front of him. He smiled back and said, “Miss Selena, it is an honor to meet you once again.” He walked over to a small table next to his throne that had some scrolls piled up into a small triangle. He reached forward and grabbed the top scroll off the pile.

The king then turned around and began to explain his actions for calling her to the Throne room. “You have been called here because I want you to join a small squad that will be tasked with dangerous missions.” He walked over to her and placed it in her hand. “Though the missions are quite dangerous… they should be very easy to accomplish. This squad is being made up of some of our kingdom’s and as well as others kingdom’s finest knights.”

He then went to explain the scroll in her hand “Give that to your Capitan tomorrow outside in the main courtyard.” He then turned to walk back to his throne when he stopped and turned around, “Another thing Selena… You will be my eyes in that group. I want you to keep a close eye on your Capitan. He does not seem to like taking orders… Do make sure he follows them…that is all.” He turned and walked to his seat.

Her eyes fell closed once more, flashes of the faces of people who had come in the room while she was sleeping striking across her eyelids. Though she had not remembered seeing Aaron, she remembered feeling his warm fingers running through her hair as she slept. A small smile graced her lips as she opened her eyes and pulled her hand back, resting it on the side of the crib. Her heart soared as Damien's small eyes continued to look up at her. The child, in her eyes, was completely perfect. He was gorgeous, he had barely cried yet.

Feeling sudden arms slipping around to her stomach made her nearly jump. The touch was familiar, warm, and she gladly leaned back against the frame that they came from, hands moving and resting against the two that clasped together at her stomach. Giving a gentle sigh, she whispered softly back to Aaron when he asked her how she was, "Tired. Unbelievably tired, but very good." When his attention went down to their son, she gave his jawline a tender kiss before moving so he could hold him if he wanted to.

As he lifted their child from the crib and held him, she did not notice he was looking at anything in particular, so her hand moved and brushed over the child's dark hair. When he mentioned that they had a problem, her eyes lifted to him with confusion in them. Moving closer, she took Damien's arm and inspected it. Her eyes closed suddenly as she grasped onto the side of the grib. "No, Aaron. No, this isn't..." Her head shook slowly, leaning her weight into the wooden side. "That...that has to be a birth mark." Right hand ungrasped the crib and reached over, inspecting the child's arm once more. It dawned on her, that indeed, they did have something of a slight problem. She took a deep breath before she whispered. "That's not a birth mark..."

Endless training. That’s all Daelon and his century had been doing for the past six month. Daelon had tried to break up the monotony as much as he could but it was difficult in the heart of the Empire. There was simply nothing for a soldier to do here. Well not anything that wouldn’t get them into trouble anyways. Brothels, gambling dens, drunken brawls in the local inns had been plaguing the troops stationed here. Soldiers were not meant to sit and train for endless periods of time. There were meant to fight wars.

Daelon ran the drills set down by General Malin, well if the rumors were true Ex-general Malin, and some of his own. In the heat of battle it was not enough to know the drills by heart, sometimes you had to react instantly, reflexes honed by more then training against dummies.

“DIE IMPERIAL SCUM!” a loud shout came from a copse of trees near the field where they were training. Out of the trees poured fifty or so armed brigands taking his century by surprise. Daelon merely smiled. ‘Late as always Jarash,’ Daelon thought as he drew his sword. He could feel the swords hunger for combat which almost matched his own.

“Sergeants! Reform your men, extended line, stand ground!” Daelon called out to his troops as the enemy swept down upon them. Sergeants started shouting commands to the soldiers who were scattered over the field sparring, watching, or simply resting. Almost immediately his disciplined soldiers were formed up in his extended line. The standard formation was just too short for his taste. True it was deeper but he could sacrifice a little depth to make his front line longer making it more difficult for the enemy to flank him. Daelon rushed to his primary position right in the front line.

“Draw swords!” Daelon shouted over the shouts of the rabble that charged down upon them. In one motion his troops drew swords and lifted their shields to the ready position. It sounded as if only one man had drawn his sword, their timing was perfect. ‘Hades, we’ve had 6 months straight to work on it,’ Daelon thought offhand. He could almost feel his sword word quiver in delight as the mob was almost upon them. Too bad this was only training; his blade would not be quenched today.

The “enemy” came crashing upon them in a deafening roar. The “enemy” was shouting insults, slurs, and other obscenities at them. His men remained relatively quiet and their line barely shifted from the momentum of the charge. Daelon found himself squared off against a rugged looking lad wielding a huge two handed mace. ‘That’s going to hurt’ Daelon thought, hopefully the lad remembered this was just a mock combat. The boys first swing was so clumsy that Daelon was able to duck the blow aimed directly at his head. Maybe the lad was too caught up in the moment. Daelon swung in a low wide arc aimed at his opponents legs. He jumped back quickly and Daelons blade bounced off his leg armor. The lad smiled as he brought his mace straight down on him. ‘Too easy,’ Daelon thought. He brought his shield up and deflected the blow just his side, enough so that the lad lost balance and stooped forward. Daelon brought his sword up into the lads gut. “You’re dead,” Daelon whispered and felt his blade urge him to keep going. Daelon held the tip of his sword steady. The lad fell down on the ground and played the part.

Around him his troops made quick work of the brigands. Daelon pulled a whistle out from under his mail shirt and blew it. The battle was ending anyways and this stopped it totally. Men on both sides helped each other up and complimented each other on a great fight. A lean, tall man came walking towards Daelon from across the mock battlefield.

“Good to see you again Daelon Straton!” the man called cheerfully.

“You were late again Jarash,” Daelon shouted back as Jarash drew closer.

Jarash wore a face of mock confusion. “I thought I was here at the prescribed time! Oh silly me if I had shown up on time, maybe you’re troops would have been even more prepared,” Jarash said playfully.

Daelon smiled and shook his head. “You know I would never compromise my soldiers training,” Daelon said matter of factly.

“Of course you wouldn’t friend,” Jarash said seriously. “It was a good fight, your men will not be ambushed easily,” Jarash pointed out in a more serious tone.

Daelon frowned noticeably. “What we get ambushed by here, school children?”

Jarash laughed loudly to the point were several nearby men resting turned their heads and stared quizzically. “You know school children can be dangerous!” Jarash exclaimed as he stopped laughing. “See you at Garttles Inn later on?” Jarash asked.

“You know I can’t drink that swill Jar,” Daelon said with a hint of longing in his voice.

“I know Dae, but you know I’ll never stop asking,” Jarash said with a grin on his face. “I’ve got to get my troops back to their post. Have a good one buddy,” Jarash said with a final hand wave.

Daelon watched as Jarash formed his men up and marched off. He sheathed his sword and could feel the resentment it felt for being cooped up. ‘Hopefully not much longer my friend,’ Daelon thought as if to the sword itself. ‘A new General could mean some action for us,’ Daelon thought hopefully.

“Sergeants form up your men,” Daelon shouted above the chatter. With his command the Sergeants needed to do little, the men formed up effortlessly on their own.

“Excellent job today men, you stayed cool in the face of danger and that’s the difference between living and dying in battle. Take the rest of the afternoon and evening off, we’ll find someone to cover your watches. Dismissed!” Daelon said with formality and saluted his men. They saluted back and the individual sergeants led their men off the training field.

‘Time for some rest and relaxation’ Daelon thought as he headed to his officers quarters.

Aaron - Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, palace, bedroom –

He watched her; his heart broke seeing her in this distress… "No, Aaron. No, this isn't..." Her head shook slowly, leaning her weight into the wooden side. "That...that has to be a birth mark." Right hand un-grasped the crib and reached over, inspecting the child's arm once more. She took a deep breath before she whispered. "That's not a birth mark..."

Aaron could only nod to her last remark. “I believe our son has inherited even my worst traits.” His eyes were now full of sorrow for his son… Damien will have to go through a very difficult life. He kissed the boy ever so gently on the forehead and laid him back into the crib. “I’m sorry Leah, let us just hope he does not inherit my more…Interesting personality.” It was not intended as a joke, his voice was one hundred percent serious. He looked to his wife and went to her. He wrapped his strong arms around her waist and he pulled her close to him. His dark silver eyes closed slowly…

Aaron felt guilt welling up in him… if only he was stronger 50 years ago… this would have never happened. Nothing was wrong with Damien, Aaron was the luckiest man in the world at this moment to have a son to carry on his name. But it was that mark that darkened the day for the both of them…that mark had brought pain to them for the past fifty years. He looked down to his right arm, which was covered in black armor. He could feel the same mark on his skin burn slightly.

Capitan Vernnal – Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia, Palace -

Right after he and the others were dismissed from the Emperor’s presence, he began to run names through his head of men who will be capable to live up to the Emperors high expectations. General Malin was one of the greatest generals ever to serve the Empire. He had served as a Capitan in the Haltian army during the war fifty years ago. He was also the reason why he joined the army by going through the Academy, so he could be like him.

It took him a while to find the name he was looking for. There were many Capitan’s who were worthy of the position as General, but most of them were in it for the power. That is when Daelon Straton’s name popped into his head. He highly respected the man…even if he was much younger than himself. Now if I am willing to serve under him, he is perfect to be the next General. He quickly made his way to the stables to fetch his horse. Now just to find him… he thought to himself. He snapped the reins and galloped out of the palaces grounds.

Capitan Vernnal- Training fields outside the Capital city Arcada, Empire of Haltia-

Capitan Vernnal heard that Daelon Straton was currently performing drills with his men and he headed off to see how they were doing. By the time he got there, the training was still going on. He sat on top of his horse watching the small mock battle going on. The glory of Haltia… and it happened all because of Aaron the elf. He heard a whistle being blown and he tried to hear what was being said but he was to far and the wind was not in his direction. He saw the Sergeants leading the men off the training field and noticed Daelon Straton walking back towards the direction of the office quarters, with a quick kick at his horses flanks and a snap of the reins, he galloped towards him.

When he reached him he pulled back on the reins and came to a stop 10 feet away from Daelon. “Good evening Capitan Daelon… Nice to see that some of our officers still train their men properly.” He dismounted from his horse and walked to Daelon. He stopped about five feet away and said. “I have new orders for you.”

The king placed a scroll from among those on the table into her hand. She lowered her hand to place the scroll into a pouch at her side. Selena listened to the duties he placed upon her, and the extra one that was on her shoulders. She nodded her head at his request before speaking her reply.

" As my king wishes I shall be your eyes upon this mission." She spoke in a light tone, her body tilted into a bow to him. Selena turned away to move back acrossed the room towards the door. Pace was slow to make a lesser sound to echo from her steps towards the doors that opened when she neared, and out into the corridor she walked passing by those next to see the king.

Selena left the main hallway heading towards the entrance having left the throne room far behind. She took out the scroll from the pouch were she had placed it before. Eyes lowered did she observe it while hands were turning the scroll some, but not opening it for it was for the eyes of her captain not her own. Placing the scroll back into the pouch as she stepped out onto the upper step that would lead down into the courtyard.

Down she went into the courtyard to turn off to the left moving into the general direction of the training yards. On the far side was the barracks were her room is located. She crossed the field edging around the areas were people were training did she enter the barracks. Selena stopped at the entrance for a moment observing the ruckus in the room before advancing through to return to her quarters for the time. Come night would she be found practicing by firelight in the field outside the sleeping area of the military.
