| Leah - Empire of Haltia, capital city Arcada, palace, bedroom She took deep breaths. When she had glanced at him upon entering the room, he still looked like he was sleeping so she didn't bother speaking to him and instead had gone and sat down in the rocking chair. Leah had to calm herself, there was no other option. She couldn't allow him to see her like this. To see her absolutely falling apart. Leah Amandil. Empress of Haltia, ruling alongside the Emperor of Haltia, Aaron Amandil. She was suppose to be strong, she wasn't suppose to be like this. Her other hand moved to go with the other one, fingertips pressing tightly against her eyes. She started to cry again, and that was when her thoughts began. Maybe the Gods are doing this to punish us for something we did. Something we didn't do. Why now? Why does this have to happen to us? To Aaron? He never did anything wrong. I can't help but be afraid the next time this happens, I might lose him completely. If...If I lose him, I won't be able to go on by myself. That damn maid! Her hands folded into fists, coming down and hitting the arms of the rocking chair violently before folding over her face again. She will speak, no matter what I tell her. This will get around. Everything will change. We'll lose everything, everyone. People will turn on us. I'll lose him, I'll lose- Her thoughts were cut off as she suddenly felt arms around her. Instantly, her arms moved around the owner, clutching at the clothing at his back. She knew the limbs, who they belonged to. Her form was shaking against him, she couldn't help it nor could she stop it. Her forehead fell against his shoulder gently, speaking to him between sobs. "So...sorry..." She shook her head, taking a deep breath to try to steady her breathing. "You shouldn't be...up. Stop worrying about me...come." Her arms moved and went underneath his arms, lifting him slowly. She knew he must've been in incredible pain, so she made him lean against her while she half dragged and half carried him back to the bed. Taking him to his side of the bed, she sat him down. "You need...need to rest." To make him more comfortable, she removed the shoes he wore and pulled up on the shirt he wore. She slipped his good arm out first, then his head and then slowly slipped it down his injured arm. Then, Leah placed his head back on a pillow and brought his legs up onto the bed. So he wouldn't move again, she moved to lie down at his side. One of her hands took hold of the hand that was not attatched to his injured arm. The other hand moved over and stroked the back of it quickly. Her eyes were looking up at the ceiling, tears stopped a bit but they would fall every now and then from the corners of her eyes, and the shaking had mostly stopped. She wouldn't be able to sleep, but if it helped him rest, she would remain at his side.

Reliynia- Training field She stood there waiting for him her eyes closed. Blocking everything out she was listening only for him... for him to make a move. Daring not to step out and attack first she remembered when her human father first took her in. Her hair was long and unkempt, though she didn't seem wild to him, Gadaniel had told her that was one reason he took her in. He didn't have a sword anymore, though he knew how to use one. Reliynia had given him her dwarf forge, and he used it well. Taught her the art of shadow fighting. You minic movements of shadows, never making sounds, and always listening to your oponent. Shadow fighting had another element to it..shadow jumping. You use shadows to your advantage, learn how to literally jump from one shadow to another. There were no shadows here in the training area, not enough trees. Out in the wild of Larendos though, there were plenty of shadows to use. Gadaniel for being a human fought soundlessly, he lived away from the borders of Larendos. Gadaniel liked his privicy, however he lived about an hour away so he still shopped in town. Reliynia would go with him on rare occasions, mainly when it came time for new clothing. "You always wear out your clothes too fast Reliynia." Gadaniel stated, "You have got to learn that going outside and sleeping isn't the best." She had told Gadaniel everything that she could remember, she loved him like a father. When he died she gave away his land to a poor family that had just moved to Larendos, on the condition they kept the farm going and even plant new crops. The family obligbed, and she left taking with her one a few things to reminded her of him. The sister swords he felt she could weild without ever succumbing to their temptations, she took a necklace of his... engraved was the image of Aurora, an Elf, a Dwarf, and a human Priest each with a sword in their hand. She wore the necklace constantly, tucked underneath her shirt. She had also taken a beautiful cloak made of white cloth and gold thread inlay around the edges of the front of the cloak. White fur lined underneath, making it useful for winters. Reliynia kept it folded at all times inside one of her bags of storage. |

Wicker smashed to the ground as his nimble opponent caught him with the majoirty of her quick attacks with ease. He heard her call out to him, "I know you can do better, Wicker of Larendos. I don't care whom wins as long as we both do our best." Her words made him smile slightly, as he raised himself out of the dirt. Slowly, and without making eye contact with Reliynia, Wicker yanked his sword from the ground and sighed heavily to himself. "Alright." He said, his voice a deep, solemn tone. Finally he looked at her, smiling warmly, "But if you can knock me down again, I'll buy you the most expensive thing this palace has to offer to eat." He stepped into his fighting stance and rolled his head from side to side, producing two satisfying clicks from his neck as he did so, not waiting for a reply from her. "Have at thee!" He stepped towards her, slashing at her midsection from left to right, then following through with thrust from his blade, aimed again at her midsection. This time his center was balanced, and his shield was kept tight to his body. There would be no risky manouvers from Wicker this time around.

Reliynia- Training field She was yanked out of her thoughts and only heard him say "if you can knock me to the ground." Not hearing what else he said, and no time to ask she saw him start to aim at her midsection. Her blue pommeled sword moved when he moved knocking his blade from her midsection each time. Then saw him thrust to her midsection so she pivoted on her right heal and swung to his side. Her blue sword would hit him on the back. She pivoted again on her right heal and swung backwards attacking him on his side. A memory pushed it'self forward, Gadaniel lay on his bed, not moving not breathing, she heard crying and saw a house burning. A blackened hand reaching for... her. Suddenly Reliynia felt a push to the ground though she knew no-one physically pushed her. She heard a little child crying and felt a burn on her leg. Finally opening her eyes, she felt snide laughter and then pity. "Don't!" she exclaimed to Lirya, what she thought was in her head. "Ooh; nice one, make them think your crazy." Nylenia exclaimed in Reliynia's mind. Picking herself up off the ground she turned and walked off leaving Wicker standing there. Sitting underneath the tree Reliynia looked away from the group, she had lost.. and she wasn't afraid to admit that, however she didn't feel like sitting by everyone. The childs screams peirced her mind. |

Selena turned her eyes away from the training field were Wicker and Reliynia were sparing. " Yeah this should be an interesting match. She seems calm and patient, and an expert at a skill I haven't seen before." she nudged the dwarfs side with her elbow as she chuckled softly," Maybe you should have spared her instead of me, and got a good work out." The girl turned her eyes to settle upon Aerandir when she frowned some hearing his refusal to join them. A sigh passed from their lips as a cloud of despair fell over her for the hope he would join them, and make it a good time to learn more about him. As she continued to frown did her eyes settle upon his arm wondering what was wrong since he was rubbing it off and on. " Be right back Pike." she said when she leaned forward to remove the ice from her foot. Selena slowly worked herself up from the ground even though she was still sore, and walked over to Aerandir. She reached out her hand to settle it upon his shoulder did she tap lightly," You alright there Aerandir ?" she asked indicating his arm that he was rubbing. |

Wicker was able to block Reliynia's attack aimed for his back with little effort. He had anticipated her attack to his side too, and had turned to face her to parry her blade away with the Barb. His intended to lash out with his weapon, but suddenly his opponent hit the ground. At first he'd thought she'd dropped dead like the dueling knight he'd seen a few days ago, but she stood up and walked from him without a word. He'd reached out a little after her and asked, "Are you alright??" However, she was gone by then so he sheathed his weapon, hung his shield over his shoulder by the attached leather strap and crossed his arms. "Hmm," he thought to himself, "... there's no need to walk off like that. Happens to the best of us." He'd assumed that she simply tripped and fell accidentally, and interpreted her walking away as a childish tantrum. He was wrong, however, and had he known the true reasons for her falling, he would not have cast off the matter so easily. He turned to Pike and the others and shrugged his shoulders, "I guess that's the end of that. What do we do now??" He walked over to them casually and stood by Pike's side.

Reliynia- Training field She heard him clearly though she couldn't care. All her memories were rushing at her, some blurring into each other, others were more clear. She heard a familiar young male voice in her memory "YOu need to tell someone about this, your an emotional wreck. You talk to yourself alot, and non of it makes sense. I'm worried about you." he reached out and gently took her hand in his. He was human, and about the age of nineteen, with short brown hair and hazel eyes. His skin was tanned slightly, and he fought well. He was tall about six foot. "We used to spar all the time after Gadaniel died." she state out loud without realizing it. Her memory went away leaving her eyes red looking. "What will I tell this group? Oh, eh.. umm I have intelligent swords. I'm sure they would understand." her tone was sarcastic, and again outloud. Another memory flashed before her eyes, she was kneeling beside a freashly dug grave "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Reliynia remembered crying. "Please if you can find it in your heart to forgive me?" she had begged. "Aurora... I hate you, I hate them; your daughters. Why me, why him?" she remembered cursing Aurora. Yet two years later she still held the swords, she still protected them. Just she had to learn to turn off emotions and memories. It was still hard for her to do that, though she had become better with each passing year. "I do better when I'm out in the wild!" she stated out loud to Lirya. Turning her head she finally looked at the group. "Why pick me out of all the other elves, half-elves, humans, and dwarves?" she asked to no-one. Closing her eyes she thought of the wilderness, sleeping underneath a tree, seeing the stars and the beautiful light of the moon. "what have I done to deserve so much pain?" she thought. Pike- Training field He heard Selena say to him "Yeah this should be an interesting match. She seems calm and patient, and an expert at a skill I haven't seen before." he felt her nudged him on his side with her elbow as she chuckled softly," Maybe you should have spared her instead of me, and got a good work out." "Nay lass I got a good work out, you were cool and calm, just a bit banged up is all." speaking amlost perfect common with his rough dwarven voice. Noticing now as Reliynia turned and then fell, to him it almost seemed like she was pushed. However he knew that wasn't possible, no-one was near or in position to push her down. He didn't hear her say anything and instead saw her get up and walk off and over to the tree she was sitting at earlier. Seeing Wicker walk off the field, he didn't hear what Wicker had said either, his mind busy trying to figure out what had transpired. "She was doing so well!" he exclaimed. Then he heard wicker ask "What do we do now." "Well," Pike started, "We could go eat. Aerandir said we could. Would ye like to join Selena and I?" he asked Wicker. Then turning towards Sarah and Lachdonon he asked "Would ye both like to join Wicker, Selena, and meself for food?" he asked nicely "Me treat." he stated next and awaited everyone's answer. |

Renwen paced up and down the confines of the Palace waiting room. His booted treading made no sound on the thick carpet beneath him but if his thoughts could be heard, They would most mostly likely sound like a hive of angry bees. He had some most troubling news to report to the emporer but he was currently "unavailable." Whatever that meant. That was the one man's privacy he was determined to respect. He had been away so long that no one in the palace currently remembered him. It had been quite tedious to actually get in.He was lucky he still had the papers given to him by the, then, King when he had been sent out on assignment. Weathered with age and torn in places the gaurd eyed it for a full minute before scratching his head with a frown and passing it to his partner. It didn't help that Renwen looked less than presentable. His usually sparkling emerald eyes were dull with fatigue and ringed with dark circles. His angular face wore a haggard expression and the dark red hair that framed his face and came to his shoulders stuck out or clumped up in many inconvienant places. He was also pretty sure he felt a twig or two jabbing his scalp painfully. He finally got them to admit him to this room after picking a leaf out of the beard that clung to his chin in the place of the stubble that he usually wore there and slipping a tiny gold nugget into his mailed fist with a promise that he wouldn't touch anything. Ren was much to preoccupied to give any scrutiny to the finery around him as he was led through the halls and when the guard had finally shut him up in this room with a grunt and a "your to wait here until the new General decides what to do with you." And a, "He'll want to see those papers's well." He began his pacing. After the first few minutes of this his exhaustion finally caught up with him, the surge of adrenaline from his impromptue ride through the country having long since worn off. Now sitting on the only chair in the room, an uncomfertable wooden affair, he began taking stock of his equipment. His forest green cloak was tattered and torn, and hung loosely from his narrow shoulders on a frayed string. His Shirt was threadbare and showed through to his pale skin, which was ashen at the moment. His pants were in no better state. The only thing he had in the way of armor were thin squares of scrap leather tied to strategic places on his person and dyed in the color of whatever article the tanner had been working on at the particular moment he had aquired them. All in all he would have presented a pretty comical appearance if it weren't for the smell eminating from his body. Not a particularly pleasant way to meet his general for the first time, he thought with a wry smile. "I guess I'll just have to wait and see how it goes..." His words hung in the air, spoken only to the dull rusty dagger tucked into his scuffed boots. |

| Deedlit - Empire of Haltia, capital city Arcada, palace, entrance hall Deedlit stopped walking as she heard voices, she looked coyly over her shoulder to see the guard quite perplexed about a strange, dirty man and no longer focusing on her. She cringed, not a word could be heard this far down and to turn back would be decidedly too obvious that she was curious as to what was going on. A stray hand rose to twirl a piece of the long golden hair. Her eyes still focused on the door not far away. A maid rushing past her, broke her concentration and forced her to notice a bench close to her. Swiftly grabbing the bottom of her dress, she swayed over to the bench and sat down, spreading her dress in a ladylike fashion. A different look came over her face, probably one of amazement and confusion, when she realised that she was sitting in front of a very large portrait of the Emperor and the Emperess. Deedlit had still been at her own home, the Manor, when it was painted. It was an older painting of the couple in a much younger state. Deedlit assumed another would be painted with the new baby before long. She leaned forward, trying to figure out who had painted it by the style of the brush strokes. She leaned back and sighed, figuring that she was not talented enough in the form of art to distinguish different painters styles. Finally, getting irritated at not knowing who the art belonged to she stood up, and edged closer to the painting, trying to read the small squiqqle at the bottom right of the canvas. Deedlit squinted, tilting her head mouthing different words that she thought she saw in the white signature. None meaningful artist names however. A sigh of utter frustration escaped her, one hand flew to her hip while the other traced over the signature and her foot began to tap as only a woman can when irritated. Standing up straight, Deedlit looked right and left searching for someone, anyone to tell her who it was. The guard from the door had disappeared, and the only person in sight was the strange man who seemed very impatient. Deedlit huffed, and retreated to the bench where she crossed her arms and waited, watching eagerly for any sign of a maid or guard to help her interpret the silly marking on the portrait. |
