Malek heard the roar, and though it chilled his blood, he showed no reaction. This was no time to show fear, such a thing did not exist right now. There was to be no surrender...Malek was the essence of a warrior. Back in Tal Vorennia, songs and poems were composed almost monthly about his battle prowess, making it nearly impossible to enjoy a glassof wine in a tavern. All his heart was behind his swords and upcoming battles.

Malek was displaying most openly the feeling of restlessness. He wanted this over and done with. He was totally unimpressed with the archers on the wall, who would not have been able to hit him even if he pranced naked in front of them, and if the rest of the army fought like they shot...it would be no battle...they would not stand a chance.

Malek did worry that he had been unable to gather his own intelligence on enemy forces. The other scouts could tell him numbers, battle formations, and strategies, but they did not look for what he did. He wanted to know how they fought. Humans have an awful knack for trying to get all the men in their armies to all fight the same way. While that may be efficient and good for morale, it does mean that if you know one man's weaknesses, you know everyone else's, and Malek wanted to use this knowledge to annihilate them.

He watched "Bahamut" destroy the walls of the city, and shudders climbed up and down his spine. Malek had never understood the quest to rid the world of such treasure troves of ancient knowledge and wisdom...until this moment.

Selena was working her way through the troops as she wanted to get near Foirn before he took to the battle field. She reached out to touch his shoulder just as Aerander was disappearing into the shadows, and she would watch him disappear for a moment. " Foirn, please come back to me in one piece and alive." she whispered from behind him, and though she was hurting to go into the battle field at his side just to aid him there would be no going back on her plans now.

As she was speaking to Foirn did she hear the sounds of the city wall destruction, and the screams of men dieing that drew her eyes towards the city. She gasped at the sight of the dragon that just destroyed the walls, and she blinked some when she looks at Foirn now as he seemed tense because of something.
