((Sorry for the long abense in posting. I'll get things going again... Right now.))

Rooted firmly to his position in the lobby, Vaughn examined the surrounding lobby. He wasn't expecting too much from this impending mission, William had a tendency to overhype what they were about to do. This might just be another test for the new crew members. There was something about the atmosphere of the lobby at this moment, something tense and rotten. Vaughn was unaccustomed to dealing with this before a mission. Was there hostility among the new crew members? Noah was exerting a certain level of dissidence against William; maybe the other crew members were still hung up about Juan. Whatever, this shit was getting tedious and Vaughn was anxious to leave the ship and do something productive instead of sitting around and bitching about their current state of being.

Turning to his two partners in this endevour he spoke: "Well, let's go wait outside the dock. Get some fresh air or some shit." He suggested it casually, but he was very clear in his head that he would be leaving the ship before the other groups and he wanted his partners to accompany him so as William did not suspect an incompatibility among the crew; that would always be a problem to the Captain. He turned and left the lobby, motioning briefly with his hands to be followed by Audi and En. He left the ship with a quick pace and rested himself against the wall of the high scale private dock the Jerry Jackson was in. He looked about the crowds of Thansur and let himself sink into thought while he waited for the rest of the ship to organize themselves.

---

William was through wasting time. He strolled into the centre of the lobby, took his gun from his belt and slung it over his shoulder. "Okay, you've had your chance, kids", he spoke loudly, putting himself above any other noise in the lobby, "I'm changing my plan. Noah, you'll come with me and Twitch, Mouse and Dominic will stay on the ship. I'm not overly proud of Twitch right now anyway. No glory for him", the latter half of that was mostly a mumble to himself.

"Move out!" he yelled and rolled out of the lobby. He didn't stay to tell Twitch or Dominic that they were staying the ship. None of them, really. They would figure it out when the rest of the crew was gone and they had no where to go anyway. They would get the feeling. William emerged outside the ship and strolled towards the doorway leading out from the docks into the city of Thansur.

James watched as Ricky scurried off into the halls. Un-phased by this, he turned to Shiina. She was staring off at Vaughn, a midly puzzled look on her face. She seemed as though she was pondering something. Normally, James would've ignored it; would've just let her ponder undisturbed, but due to the circumstances, he felt it pertinent to spark up some last-minute conversation.

"What's on your mind?" James asked softly, hoping she would perhaps jump at the opportunity of socializing. They were, after all, a crew; a second family almost. James suddenly felt as though he had forced her into the group. The dis-interest in her posture gave James an uncomfortable feeling. He remained silent afterwards, regretting saying anything at all. He had no expectations of a response from her as she continued to stare and ponder.

What is she thinking about? James wondered. The mission perhaps? Doubtful, she seemed unfocused; relaxed, calm... in contrast, he was anxious to get going. He sucked it up, trying to not break down into his nervous habits. He used to pace or sway in some way, out of nervousness; instead, he took some deep breaths and tried to divert his mind.

Ricky ambled back into the lobby from wherever he went. He had a pack slung over his shoulder, a wide grin on his face. He seemed enthusiastic; probably eager to show off what he can do on his first mission. He turned to Shiina to introduce himself.

"Name's Ricky. It’s a pleasure. I'm glad to be on this ship and look forward to getting to know you and the rest of the crew!” He had that certain charm that made him likeable, but before Shiina could respond, William barked from the center of room:

"Okay, you've had your chance, kids. I'm changing my plan. Noah, you'll come with me and Twitch, Mouse and Dominic will stay on the ship.

Move out!"

James motioned wordlessly to Ricky and Shiina as he started a light jog out of the ship.

Ricky heard the voice over the loudspeakers to move out. His first mission. Ricky couldn’t help but grin the whole while. He had really made it to his dream ship, and now he was participating in a mission. Ricky scurried down the plank, eager to get on the mission. What would they be doing? Robbing a bank? Picking up a secret package? Mugging? What the heel did these people do anyways? Well Ricky was excited to find out. If there was no need for his hacking skills at least he was decent with a gun. Would he even need to use it? Who would he use it against if need be?

While Ricky thought about all this, his mind flipped to the Cops. If he ran into them it was a running match, if even that. Ricky had heard about them, but never himself been caught. They were un-killable, fast, and deadly. Ricky was scared just thinking about them. Ricky looked around outside, then reached in his pocket and pulled out the rabbit foot Noah had given him earlier. Rubbing it for luck, he tucked it back in his pocket and a cigarette was replaced. Ricky quickly lit it and took a drag, clearing his head a bit. Ricky always smoked before any sort of mission, it helped calmed him. This time Ricky didn’t even know what he was getting clam over, but he knew it would help.

“So, where we suppose to go? What we gotta do?”, Ricky asked no one in particular, tapping the cigarette.

((Alright, here's the deal, guys. I'm taking control of everyone who hasn't posted yet. If you don't start posting again by the time we get into the mission, expect your character to stop being alive.))

Outside the ship, Vaughn still stood leaning against the exterior wall of the private dock the Jerry Jackson had assumed for itself upon the arrival to Thansur. He still wasn't sure exactly what the mission was going to be, William was being secretive about it, more so than he usually was. It didn't make the biggest difference to him either way, however, he would just do what it was he was told to do, he suspected this mission was a further test of the new crew members anyway. Maybe not directly, but he knew William would be watching them.

He turned his head over to see William emerge from the dock with the rest of the crew behind him; even Dominic who Vaughn hadn't actually seen in days. William was carrying a black bag over his shoulder which Vaughn knew to be the Targetters. Twitch came from the ship with his face patched up in a rough fabric bandage, Vaughn noted how viciously his wound from EnRohbi was bleeding.

The crew congregated in a semi circle around Vaughn and William, who both were leaning against the wall, Vaughn felt he was being singled out along with William and that people thought he might have an answer, he moved away from the centre of the circle and mingled in with the other crew members.

"I thought Dominic was staying on the ship?" Vaughn asked, now becoming aware that William had ordered him remain. Mouse was outside too.

"Yes, but him and Mouse need the briefing as much as anyone else out here."

Vaughn nodded and accepted William's explanation. The crew grew quiet now as they awaited to hear what William was about to say. Vaughn stood expectantly with them as their Captain began his speech:

"Alright, so we've been on Thansur for a short time and I've procured for us something to do. I know some of you might think this is another simple test like the one I'd given you before, but I assure you that this is a much more variable mission, not organized and structured like your tests were. Now, down to what we have to do:

"Vaughn, EnRohbi and Audi will go to the Global Governmental Bank a few blocks away, infiltrate the top level and take over the entire building. The GGB is on the top section of the Matrix Plaza, you'll have to go up through several security checkpoints, as the highest floor that allows public access is the tech store on the 3rd floor of the 5th section. The GGB is the 8th section. Each section consists of 3 floors. Taking over the Matrix Plaza will be a feat I've never sent EnRohbi to try before, so you'll have to remain concealed until he gets into the security systems. Take no money out of the bank, En, you'll have to break through security firewalls that you have no experience in.

"Once the three of you take Matrix Plaza your job is to evacuate the building with whatever alarm you feel would be safest and then keep it guarded. This will probably be taken as a bank robbery and will cause every available COP in the city to be called to the Matrix Plaza to infiltrate. Keep them out. EnRohbi will handle the computer system, Vaughn and Audi will be required to make sure that the building stays barricaded. You three are fighters, you will do fine.

"Rax, James and Shiina: You three will go to the Matrix Plaza with the first group, then separate and go to the Public Transportation headquarters. The PTHQ, however, is run on a specially secured closed network that only EnRohbi would be equipped to hack into, and as his task at the GGB is more important than hacking into the PTHQ, you will do your job by brute force. Board one of the track buses, the most crowded one of can find, and take it hostage. Make sure the bus stays on its course and the PTHQ does not get shut down. You want to be a moving target. Just hold the bus. Take as few casualties as you can and don't branch out. Just hold the bus. That's it.

"Myself and Noah will go down to the Back Alley part of town and meet with the Captain of the Northern Slave. The Northern Slave will then proceed to the outer perimeter of Jurisdiction 8 (Which is where all of you will be doing your business) and they will break into the Drug and Arsenal Cache that hasn't been stolen from in 3 years. It has every piece of confiscated weaponry and drugs from Back Alley Crew on Thansur since the last theft. We'll be splitting the profit with the Northern Slave."

William swung the black leather bag filled with Targetters down off his shoulder and held it open towards the rest of the crew. "Everyone take one. And make sure you're completely equipped. Our Targetters are modified from the original versions, they're on a closed circuit of encrypted communication. Take the pin out of their sides and attach it to your guns. There should be a slot near the barrel for it. Myself and EnRohbi had taken the liberty of adapting your weapons to our Targetters while you slept over the last few days."

Following suit, Vaughn leaned forward and took a Targetter from the bag. A piece of technology that resembled a normal pair of tinted glasses. The left lense was only half the size of the right; each were a rectangle tinted purple. On the right side, hanging off the ear rest was a small speaker that could be inserted into his ear. Vaughn took two of the four pins out of the Targetter he'd taken and slipped them into the slots on his two pistols. The crew hadn't gone out on a mission in a while and William had overhauled the Targetters since the last time out. Vaughn slipped the device over his eyes and waited for it to boot up; a process that only took 3 seconds. Small numbers appeared on the inside of the lens, indicating distances, heat and other information quickly formed around various objects in his sight. He lifted one of his pistols and pointed it forward within his line of view and watched the cross hair glide seamlessly across the lens. Everything was working perfectly.

He turned back to look at the rest of his group, EnRohbi and Audi, motioning for them to follow, Vaughn set off in the direction of the Matrix Plaza.

The briefing took less time than Audi has anticipated and even in her current state, she listened keenly and understood her orders (although there were several moments when she was more interested with the simulate clouds drifting overhead). One could tell barely tell they were nothing but an illusion on a screen or something along those lines. Even those who had seen true clouds on Earth would have a hard time telling the two apart. She could never tell them apart though. But none of this mattered; the fact was that her, Vaughn and En were about to risk their lives for some drugs and weapons. Perfect reason, to her. Getting out of the building without dying was the major issue to her. Being surrounded by COPS with only several exits and a limited chance they would even be able to hold against the vile things was a worrying thought. William soon relieved her of that thought by tossing a bag of targetters before her.

Slung over Audi's shoulders was a black bag, which she picked up before leaving the ship, carrying her favourite weapon; a what would seem impossible at our time, light-weight, silenced .50 caliber rifle. The poor thing had to be dismantled prior to any traveling in order to squeeze it into the guitar-shaped case. Sure, it was a age-old ploy to disguise your weapons as an instrument, but it sure as hell worked. In her hand was what resembled an AutoMag V; a .50 action express, single action shot, silenced (like all her weapons were). At times, she believed her handgun presented a larger problem concerning recoil than her rifle did. Simply due to the fashion in which these two weapons were held. Lifting the small firearm, she followed Vaughns example and geared up her gun. To her surprise, numbers, circles, heat patterns and such appeared before her, projected from her new glasses.

"Oh lawd." she snickered to herself, playing with the targetting system. Waved a bit at the rest of the crew, then skipped off behind Vaughn.

Ricky listened intently to every word William said, as if his life clung on it. This was it, this was the day Ricky would finally do his first mission. Prove himself, show he was capable of. Ricky grinned the entire speech, and once if was finished gave a slight ‘wohoo’. Ricky was pumped. Ricky went to retrieve the targetter around. Ricky picked one up and placed it into position. Ricky watched as it stared up and show Ricky many differents set of information. Ricky wasn’t sure if he would need all of it, but you never know. Ricky grinned, he felt like part of the team.

Soon the groups began to go to their positions. Ricky found his job to be easy and simple, but fun. Holding up a train would prove to be a interesting job. Ricky gave a quick smile at his team before saying, “Guess we best be off.” Ricky the proceeded to the location of the station. Ricky carried his large metal briefcase, with many different supplies to help him on his cause. Ricky wasn’t sure what would happen once they got there, but he was sure that he and his team mates could handle any problem. It would be a piece of cake.

Ricky motioned for his team mates to come with him. “We better get down to the station and hold us a good ol’ fashion stick up! Come on!” Ricky said excitedly, beginning to skip in the direction of the station.

((This is your second warning, inactive people, you are RUNNING OUT OF TIME. Within the next couple of my posts, you -will- be shot dead.))

Vaughn lead his group through the busy streets of Thansur. The three of them were drawing the attention of the people they were passing, nothing about any of them was inconspicuous and the entire pace and aura they were possessing at the moment could be described as nothing but sinister and haste. Making his best efforts to dodge through the crowds without bumping into anyone, Vaughn forced himself forward at an ever quickening pace.

Within a few minutes, or what seemed like it anyway, the three of them stood at the bottom of a large edifice, for lack of a better word. At the very end of a dead end street, the Matrix Plaza consumed the street for about half a kilometre on either side of them, leaving an opening for the street. Each side of the building looked to have about 20 floors, but it was the central tower that Vaughn was concerning himself with. A monument so large that, from the proximity to it they were, the top of it was barely discernible from the rest of the simulated sky. The entire building had a colourful hue of forest green cemented into its exterior made of metal and ceramics.

The crowd had grown more dense the closer the three crew members came to their destination, and the closer they came the more they were watched and eyed as they went. Vaughn was used to special attention as he walked down the road in public, but he was beginning to doubt whether or not the COPs were already watching him, EnRohbi and Audi. They were, after all, within metres of the Matrix Plaza, home of thousands of valuable products and the Global Governmental Bank. Vaughn took only a moment to second think their entire plan and process before he pushed the doubts from his head and lunged forward into the building.

The inside was no less crowded than the outside, however the hue had darkened slightly and changed to a gold, in contrast to the green outside. The first room in the Matrix Plaza was a large lobby type area, with stairs cascading over and through one another, large arched doorways stood fixed and statically looming along the walls at all heights, and in the very centre of this conglomerate maze of pathways was an elevator. A large cube which could travel sideways as well as up and down.

Vaughn didn't speak a word, beginning to have more serious considerations that the COPs or some other force may be monitoring their speech, he simply motioned to his two partners and walked briskly towards the elevator. Opening the door with the click of a small purple button in its side, Vaughn stepped inside with EnRohbi and Audi and a few seconds later, after inputting the destination to the tech store in the 8th section, the elevator closed and shot up. Luckily, they were alone in the elevator.

---

William set the bag filled with Targetters down on the ground for the remaining crew members to take one. He briefly instructed Dominic, Twitch and Mouse to return to the ship and be prepared to act as surveillance and support for the three groups who were departing, then he tapped Noah on the shoulder and set off for their task at hand with Noah trailing behind.

About a hundred metres later, William stopped at a bus stop to await transportation; the Back Alley sectors [As they were unofficially refered to] were too far to walk to and still arrive on time. William slipped his own targetter over his face and, waiting impatiently for the data to boot up, quickly started talking, sending a communication to the rest of the Jerry Jackson's crew. "Everyone should get as close to their destination as possible without breaking any laws", William explained calmly, "Wait for my word before you begin your tasks, these things need to sync themselves properly, else the plan is void." With that he stood and waited patiently for the bus which he could see coming around the corner attached to its metal track. It was more of a high speed tram or above ground subway than a bus.

He boarded the bus casually and sat himself near the front. Sitting on the seat beside him a second black bag, smaller than the one that contained the early targetters. This second bag was home to William's pistol and his secondary clips of ammunition, as well as a few bargaining chips he thought might come in handy while dealing with other criminals. In reality, he hated dealing with other criminals whenever he could avoid it. They were underhanded and tended to stab him in the back when he wasn't looking. Because of this, he generally tried to keep his jobs on the up and up and with people who were of good standing to society. This was a very blatant exception, obviously.

It took only a minute or two before the bus had again come to a stop at the desired location. William stood up and exited the bus.

There had been a exuberant change of scene between the dock sector of Thansur and the parts of the city that were heavily frequented by the underbelly of society. The fake sky was still blue... End of similarities. This area was particularly bad, no where else on Thansur could quite be compared. The bottom 20 feet or so of the walls of the buildings in the Back Alley sector [Officially referenced as Sector 4] were covered in a dirt not quite recognizable to most people. Some hybridization between grime and ash. The mood and the very atmosphere of existence was very much more grim in this part of the major space city.

William passed by people who didn't give him a second glass. Homeless people and bums, drug dealers and addicts. Every branch of illegal activity could be accessed within an arm's reach of him right now, which might have proved itself to be useful if he didn't already have possession of every branch of illegal activity on his own. The fact was, William was already essentially a walking arrest warrant.

After taking a few corners, the Captain and crew members came to a tower type construction. It was a large tube, 200 metres in diametre which stretched from the ground straight up through the sky of Thansur and out the roof. It was, in fact, a sort of space elevator. It was the space city equivalent of the Davis Magnets. The difference being that there were no magnets to power this. The distance between the ground and roof of Thansur was less than 25 kilometres, so the elevators here used, simply, fuel to get pods to and from the ground.

---kweh---

Twiddling a small tan pouch around his index finger by the attached string, Pheru sat back comfortably in the lobby of the Northern Slave with his feet hoisted onto the coffee table in the centre. In many ways, Pheru compared this lobby with his own and the one on the Jerry Jackson. It was somewhere in between the two. Organized like the lobby of the Jerry Jackson but not up the par in quality. The couches here were nearly rotting, the ship's hull was old and rusting, and there was exposed circuitry on all the computer systems where the crew had to physically remove the security components from the stolen devices. This was the kind of environment felt much more at home in, not the shit luxury of a place like the Jerry Jackson.

"Take it", Pheru said briskly to one of the men standing across the lobby from him opposite the other couch. He took the pouch in his hand and threw the collection of weed to the man he spoke to, who he knew only as Dr. G. "100 grams, laced with a few kinds of crack. That pouch is worth $4,500, with the quality and potency of everything in it. You have no idea what it'll do to you. I threw in a few hits of that Jovian Acid I've been throwing around this side of the galaxy too."

Pheru lifted his feet up, and in one swift and yet awkward lunge, was on his feet standing several feet from where he was sitting prior, now facing the Captain of the Northern Slave. A short, stocky man with little of his brown hair left on his head. "We have a deal then?" He questioned presumptuously, "I think I've more than paid for what I requested from you."

Chad had no more than a few week training session on the mechanics of space at this point, and he was still uneasy on the ship, memories from the lesson seeming to be hardly relevant when feeling the real thing. It was unlike anything he felt before back on earth, seeming more surreal than anything. However these days, nothing really felt real to him either. His tone towards the others on the ship, his far from human eyes playing upon the scene he watched closely, was partially under the tone of friendly at this point, and he stuck to the edge of the room, leaning against the wall as he watched. His eyes focused from face to face, zooming in as he did on the man he grew to know as Dr.G to study more and more, almost as if he would write about it in a report and give exact measurements.

Chad had no quarrel with the people aboard, and thus he kept out of most peoples way when he could help it. However, from where he perched, he wanted to run up and destroy the tan pouch. He seemed to be the only one left alive that detested drugs to a point of such intensity, but he knew he should have more common sense than to disrupt any balance such as removing drugs from an addict. He had a sudden moment of immaturity as the pouch sailed through the air, his eyes forceful and cybernetically glaring at it, willing it would burst into flame. How I wish I could have invested on laser eyeballs. He simply thought, the last word echoing in his mind as did many other things by the time the pouch had reached the other. At this point in time, it was painstakingly clear how he needed to be on board these ships, or anywhere else for that matter; ruthless and a potential seller. He had the ruthless part down at least, for which he was proud of, but the latter of the two slipped by him ever so slightly. He wondered when it would be that he would consider himself such a thing, but shied away from thinking about the future.

Time was irrelevant to him, past, present or the future, but even so, he didn't bother to think about it. Time to him, always brought memories from all time frames, however one particular memory of the accident that made him this way always slipped by the mental blockades he wished he could enforce upon himself. The thoughts toyed and tugged at him ever so slightly in ways he didn't think possible. It was driving crazy even more so than he already thought he was. Those same thoughts were the reason other thoughts eventually tumbled out with it, thoughts of either crazed murder or suicide. He knew he lacked the will power to do either without proper reasoning, and instead he fought such things back time after time, every single pushing effort also reassuring him that he would no longer think these thoughts in due time. He was beginning to lose faith in even himself.

How he wished he could be back home, laying still for hours upon hours, simply lining up and shooting things every so often from his window. His bed was pulled directly to the portal to the outside, a target range outside of his room, a distance he long forgot putting nothing but air between him and target. He had nothing better to do with his time, and now, he almost missed it, even if it seemed like he was doing more. Chad wanted to return to his room at this point, to sit, think clearly for a moment, give him a time to clean and tune precise instruments he valued to calculate any possible measurement needed from a set position for others that lacked the cybernetics he possessed. A small dial on the side of his vision told him precise distance from him to the object. Every other aspect of a shot however was for him to determine. He didn't know what to expect in space, or on different planets altogether, and he knew he would have to recalibrate his instruments carefully to better tune in to the planet, or possibly buy different sets per location. Instead of his wishes being granted, he stayed rooted to the spot by some unknown personal force, betraying himself as he did so. He only stared and thought, wondering what to do next.

Audi laughed loudly at the size of the building, not the least big concerned about who they were around. They were allowed in this part of the massive structure and she knew when it was time to get a little more serious. Regardless of whether or not she was high as a kite, the tough little Jamaican was aware of their situation. The plan was easy and she was certain when it came down to it, she'd be the one plucking off, or at least slowing down, the majority of COP's. She wasn't entirely sure if anyone was carry as heavy weaponry and explosives as she was, seeing as that was usually the case in these sorts of circumstances. Go big or go home.

Upon entering the superstructure, the three slipped into the elevator with no trouble or commotion. William began to speak over the communicator, explaining some more details and such. Audi began to speak back, not necessarily to William, but anyone listening at the time. Clicking her silver lip ring against her teeth, she asked almost curtly, "Naow, when can I take 'dis monstar out 'n set 'ar up?" Obviously impatient and anxious to whip out her .50 caliber, she let the case slip from her back and hit the floor nearly soundlessly. Fighting was always a bit more fun when you were on any kind of drug. It seemed to much less real and at the same time so much more exhilarating.

Dr. G caught the beige pouch out of the air With a very calm, almost lazy swipe of his arm. He listened to what Pheru had said the contents of the bag was, and casually double checked. Fingering through the bag The Dr. pulled out the tabs of acid and slipped them into his breast pocket, exchanging them for a pack of his favorite brand of papers.

The inventory left in the pouch was no good to him, in fact he considered it ruined With the addition of the dirty crack chemicals. He made his way to a table near by and slung a 10 gram bag of some of his finest herb on to it, taking a seat directly in front of it.

After busting the tight buds into small pieces with his fingers Dr.g placed a precise amount of the crumbled plants into individual papers, carefully toying them into a cylindrical shape, tucking the access, and neatly rolling it into a beautiful smoke.

After a few moments the Dr. managed to fill a tin with his joints, a process that was obvious he had repeated many a time. The last twisted was places into his mouth and sparked from an ancient Zippo He had received from his father.
