Default Crisis

Chaos gripped the frontal base just outside the city limits, as medics rushed to and fro through medical tents and wounded were hoisted in on stretchers. Armed and armored soldiers scattered around the camp, barking orders and hording refugees. Guy looked around with a sense of wonder, taken completely aback by the discord of the place.

So this is what war is like, he mused with a frown as he turned to his Field Director, Doctor June. The woman shot him back a smile and mussed his hair, looming over him. June had Guy at a complete disadvantage, trumping him in age, height, and rank. He was often the target of her work's frustrations and jokes, on top of being her Gear guinea pig. She was always teasing him, poking with those long fingers then laughing as she tossed back her auburn hair...Damn.

"Keep focused, kid. You'll be riding out into battle soon," June said, with that sugary tone that always made things sound less terrible then they actually were. 'Don't worry, the shock won't hurt that much.' 'I don't think the Neural Integration System's side effects are that bad.'

Yeah, right, Miss June, Guy muttered to himself, rolling his eyes off to the sides. However, he couldn't deny the mixed emotions he felt, about to take the Knight into an actual warzone. On one hand, it had been what he had always looked forward to - something he had trained constantly for. He had to defend his country, that was for certain - but...Was he willing to take a life in order to do that? Data and virtual reality were different from actual flesh and blood. What did June think about it? What did MAI think about it? What did he think about it?

A large, rather intimidating man with a mighty beard strode up to the boy pilot and scientist, his uniform decorated to the brim with medals. Guy instantly straightened his pose, realizing he was in the presence of a general. Or at least, someone higher up than him. Then again, everyone was higher up than him.

"Doctor June, I'm glad you're here. Is this the Kid?" The man said, immediately commanding attention. June nodded, and the man scowled. "He's a lot shorter than I thought...Is this child really your test pilot?"

"Trust me, Guy is an excellent pilot. He's done nothing but amazing tests ever since he joined our department. However, our system needs actual combat data, and you need extra men. We help you, you help us," June said, playing with her nails and speaking in that floaty tone. The officer grunted and turned to Guy, causing him to gulp.

"Alright, Kid. Get in here," he growled, grabbing Guy's arm and tugging him into the command tent while June followed. The tent itself was a tiny structure with a large central table with a map of San Francisco on it, covered in military markings. The officer loomed over it and beckoned Guy's attention to the map.

"ConFed forces broke our naval line this morning and proceeded to strike San Francisco, landing on the beaches and storming the city. A combined force of tanks, infantry, and Gears, as well as air support. They landed about an hour ago, so we're currently sending in everything we have. The city's taken damage, but we've managed to evacuate a lot of civilians. There are still non combatants in the area, so keep that in mind," the officer ordered, pointing out locations on the map. "We're going to push them back into the sea. Alpha Company, Beta Company, and Charlie Company of our Gear units have been pushing back ConFed forces on these sectors of the city, but we need backup. Reinforce Alpha Company. Head towards the Sunset District."

With that, Guy found himself out of the tent again, with June leading him by hand towards his Gear. Everything was happening so quickly - Where was Sunset District, anyway? Maybe MAI knew. Before Guy knew it, he was in front of his Knight. His companion, his shell. His Gear. Turning to June, he belied his first instinct to just hop in.

"Um, Miss June, I, uh - " Guy fumbled through his words, trying to voice his opinion on taking lives. June simply smiled, gave him a playful kiss on the head, and pushed him to the ladder. Blushing beet red, Guy shook his head and yelled at his superior as he ascended the ladder and dropped into the hatch.

The cold cockpit of his Knight. Guy could hair the soft hum of the hatch air conditioning as he scanned his finger prints through the sensor, causing the rest of the systems to blink into life. A green light enveloped the cockpit as monitors formed all around the pilot, displaying vital information on every screen. Guy focused on the visual monitor in the center, as well as the map to his left. It showed where he was now - The Golden Gate Recreational Area, now turned into a frontal base for quick deployment. The Sunset District was directly south. Guy also turned his head to his right, observing his radar display.

Only friendlies in the area...Well, let's get started, Guy thought to himself, finished checking up on his systems. Navigating his Gear around, he activated the slider module and blasted down the pavement, moving at a quick pace for a big mech.

"Good morning, Guy," a robotic, feminine voice called from in front of the pilot. Guy smiled. At least he wasn't alone in the cockpit. MAI may not be prime conversation material, or even human, but a chat was a chat.

"Morning, MAI! We're heading out to battle for the first time today!" Guy chirped as his Knight skated through rubble and burning buildings, jumping over the occasional car as the sound of gunfire became more and more evident.

"All systems running at optimal performance. Success rate of mission is high. Continue south to find Alpha Company," MAI dictated, in its trademark monotone. Guy took a deep breath, then nodded, navigating through a few more ruined roads. However, a Gear stood before him. He wasn't familiar with it, so Guy concluded it was one of theirs, a ConFed Gear. Guy had caught it off guard, he had every advantage to strike. Mounting the assault rifle, he aimed the weapon to the enemy machine's core, squeezing at the lever to pull the trigger...But he hesitated.

I - Guy's mind ate his thought as he realized the enemy Gear had turned around. All advantage was lost, and now it was kill or be killed.

Alan 'Sabertooth' Branx sat inside the cockpit, the core, of his Gear. He'd inserted himself as far and as fast as physically possible to escape the pressures of command. After that, he simply sat there quietly, awaiting opposition or his long-range scanners to pick up an opposing gear. The battle had no interest for him, he only cared about a challenge. Opposing pilots who might give him a few minutes of entertainment.

His custom model Gear was more than a match for anyone he'd encountered to date, usually making exceptionally short work of any he fought. The scanners were custom built from scraps. The weapons were custom rigged. The plating was custom installed. The engine had been built from scratch with custom molded parts. This machine was his own body. He knew every single centimeter of this beast as if it were his own skin. He was not only in it, he was the heart and soul of the Sabertooth. His call sign was also the call of his custom built behemoth.

However, as he sat there inside his cockpit, eyes closed and only the beeping of the scanners watching the war zone to keep him company, he knew that another had approached him. Then, his scanners notified him of the prescience of a hostile Gear, followed by warning buzzers to signify that weapons were being armed. Good, that soul would need every advantage he could think of if he hoped to take on this Gear.

Turning his gear around at the last possible moment, he smiled as his visual screen came online and showed the opponent. Tapping a few buttons, he hacked the communication link and broadcast a message to the Alliance Knight, "Attention soldier. I'm Sabertooth of the Confederation Army. I will not allow surrender. Prepare yourself." His calm voice echoed as he engaged the thrusters and engines of his own Gear.

Then, as he felt the engine finish warming up, he flipped on his targeting camera, just to get an idea of how many of his weapons had locked on when the target had come into range. As he figured, every possible missile had drawn up firing patterns to attack the vehicle before him. Smiling at his Gear's stellar preformance, he disengaged the camera and took control of his gear's manual overrides, it was how he preferred his ride.

The engine revved and Alan's Sabertooth tore across the distance that separated him from his opponent. Engaging his 'tooth' he lashed out at the opponent, using the newly revealed blade as a sword arm. He danced his Gear too the left side of his opponent at lightening speeds. "All systems preforming at 35% capacity. Cooling systems engaging to lower engine heat. Weapons systems are now online and operational." A computerized voice confirmed as the Sabertooth spun a 180 and reversed away from its opponent.
"Alright, time to see how you dance." Alan grinned as he reached up and hit a few buttons on the on-board computer.

Outside, the Gear which had snaked past and feigned a slice at its opponent now reversed away from the Alliance Knight. Its right arm then rose up and snapped into a circle, revealing a powerful-looking mini-cannon. The rigging appeared to be automatic and it was obviously rotating in preparation to fire...

If it wasn't for the crappy Gear, Alana really had a pretty padded job. She was the only one at her station so, she didn't work full time, spent a lot of time hiking, surfing, doing whatever. Unfortunate that she had to leave it really, she was having fun back there. Hopefully she'd make it out alive with this thing... yeah, she would, she knew how to handle it, and, it was doing better than normal. The triple chain gun hadn't jammed in a month... although that probably just meant it was about to.

Alana marched into the city towards Golden Gate state park. The drop off point was in the California Bay, long ways South cause, well boats made easy targets for Gears.

"Come on Polunu," you can make it, she urged the mech on, as she spun out of her chair, stepping back to strap herself into the harness she had set up, sliding the gloves onto her hands. Almost there... almost there. Piece of crap. Seriously? And someone was for sure going to be pissed off about her getting there a little bit into the fight. Their fault.

" *chsk* Maui Squadron, reporting for battle." Alana said as she saw other Gears coming into range. She rolled her eyes when she said it, probably could almost hear the eye roll when she talked.

"Private Lana what the hell is that?" a familiar voice came in over the radio. Ugly, condescending, yup, sergeant what's his face. 1st class douche bag.

" *chsk* What's what?" she said in her 'cute innocent voice.'

"What the hell did you do to your gear?"

" *chsk* Fixed it sergeant."

"Tampering with government equipment!?! I'll have you court marshaled for this!"

Alana laughed. No he wouldn't. He must have forgotten that they were in the middle of trying to fight off a raid on San Francisco.
" *chsk* Negative ghost rider we've got a 10-4 on bogies in the vicinity I'm going to have to report back to you on that."

"Ghost rider?" he sounded furious... probably was, "What the hell are you talking about private? And you don't have to make that noise every time you radio in!"

" *Chsk* Copy that ghost rider, I'm on it."

Alana glanced up, something had flashed through the rear view mirror she'd installed. They really didn't design the Knight with a good range of vision either. Operating the pedals she turned the Gear around, bringing up the gun arm. It was working well, a little bit of lag because of the weight of the 3 chain guns, but it was working. Good start.

A voice came in on her global frequency radio, thick, russian accent. "What is that?"

There was an first version dragon there, gun aimed at her. She rolled her eyes. He didn't have to rub it in. It was aiming a shot through the glass at her, she brought her arm up in front of her face, the Gear's arm followed, quickly with that one, not weighed down with 3 guns. The bullet hit it, couple sparks, no major damage.

"His name's Polunu," she laughed, squeezed her left hand, work, work, please work the guns went off, shredding the Gear before her. Took maybe a second. Lower grade armor and everything, no big deal. The guns worked impressively. Hopefully they'd keep it up. She turned around, moving again in the direction of the park. There was stuff blowing up everywhere... it was about to get intense.

"Attention soldier. I'm Sabertooth of the Confederation Army. I will not allow surrender. Prepare yourself." The deep voice echoed throughout the open channel of Guy's cockpit. His palms began to sweat, and his brow began to tremble. Oh, SHIT.

"Guy, it would be in your best interest to stay alert. I detect a break in your focus of about 60%," MAI said, her voice snapping him out of his fear instantly. She was right. Guy had to keep calm and remember his training, although Sabertooth's Gear was unlike anything he had ever seen in any training class.

A patchwork mess of scrap parts and weapons, the Gear was surprisingly agile for such a behemoth. With the build vaguely resembling an Eagle, it was covered in weapons, sensors, and the like - all the crap he could pile onto it. Fear continued to grip Guy's mind, climaxing as the monstrous machine cleared the distance quickly, slashing its sword at him. Wait, a melee maneuver...?

Without even thinking, purely instinctual, Guy jammed his reverse gear, sending his Gear lunging backwards, propelled by its leg-skates, avoiding the sword strike. However, the cut was shallow in the air, suggesting a feint of sorts...Guy was already in the line of fire when he noticed the Sabertooth's massive cannon pointed at him. Gripping his torso shield in his free left hand in the split second he had left, Guy's Knight guarded against the hail of bullets that came, ripping into his tough shield. A Knight's shield had been made to resist armor piercing rounds, but the bullets were giving it a run for its money. A few of the rounds ricocheted off of the barrier, deflected, but more ripped into the hull, damaging the Knight's shoulders. Guy fumbled about in his cockpit from the damage as his monitors went crazy.

"Gear damage level at 20%. Enemy gear appears to be running perfectly strong. Unable to ID it," Mai continued in a monotone as Guy groaned. However, he picked himself up, ready to retaliate. He wouldn't let some hotshot push him around, and he definitely didn't plan on dying so quickly. Laying down some covering fire from his single mounted assault rifle, he blasted at Sabertooth as he slid behind a nearby apartment building, crushing a Porsche in the process.

Radio noise filled the cockpit as bullets riddled around his gear. Not designed to take a hit, as most of the armor had been removed to create the speed it now had, Alan seamlessly snatched the controls back and forth as his vehicle dodged around a parking garage and allowed his gear to lock its targets onto the apartment instead. "Systems are ready. Targeting took 0.003 seconds to confirm trajectories. Targeting system is functioning at 98.99% capacity. Realigning systems to correct error." The computerized voice confirmed as it loosed several SCUD missiles into the air.

The three rockets collided with several different optional cover buildings, rocking the foundations and dragging them to the ground. Yes, those missiles had also been customized by the mechanic within the Sabertooth. Frowning at the errors within his vehicle, he began assaulting his on-board computer system while his Sabertooth charged the building that the Gear had taken cover behind. Both Alan and his computer had decided that the smoke and debris along with the shock factor of a leveled building would be perfect cover for a close-range assault. The Auto-cannon, although no different in appearance, alternated fire to a flamethrower and released a steady stream of flames in his Gear's wake as he boosted through the smoke and vaulted into the air.

"Computer, set boosters to 76% capacity. I will make one more strike and then retreat. This man is young, but promising. I wish to simply scare him and return for him later. It seems that there's more interesting affairs at the actual drop point. We will finish this strike and rejoin the assault team and provide support. Do no damage to our little friend. That is all." Alan said in his stolid voice, eying his nails as the smoke began to clear on his visual monitor...

"The enemy Gear is equipped with a rapid firing machine gun containing a form of flammable oil. It also possesses SCUD missile systems, suggesting surface to air and surface to surface capabilities. More data is needed," MAI said as Guy began to snap up a strategy. His enemy had weak armor due to its raw offensive power and speed. Thusly, one good shot would end it. However, Sabertooth seemed to relish close combat, if only due to arrogance. Would he come into range again? Guy replaced his shield onto his torso and pulled his armor breaking hammer from the back mount.

An earthshaking sound blasted through the area, and three buildings crumbled at once. They simply disintegrated into rubble, with debris falling off of them. Guy's eyes widened into a stare. What the hell had happened?

"Warning, enemy approaching," MAI sounded, and the radar screen blinked red. Guy's visual monitor was completely clouded with smoke, damning any chance to spot his opponent. He had been careless. Brandishing his hammer, he prepared for a close range assault. What he got was a jet of flame piercing through smoke, engulfing his left hammer-wielding hand.

Heat burst through the cockpit, but Guy stayed cool as MAI activated the cooling systems. The radar indicated that the enemy Gear had taken to the air, above the smoke. Sweat rolled down Guy's head as he realized that he was being completely and utterly trounced. A call patched in, automatically forwarded by MAI.

"Kid, you're taking too much damage!" Guy paid no attention to June's voice over the radio, focusing on his Gear's singed arm. Kicking the hammer up with a free foot and catching it with his rifle arm, Guy remounted the melee weapon and slid backwards through the smoke, seeing the Sabertooth in the air. His targeting computers predicting all trajectories, he stood still to steady his aim and let out a burst of armor piercing rounds, aimed directly at Sabertooth's booster systems.

(theres going to be cussing, all censored >.>.. for the purpose of making it more soldiery.)

"Avasyu! Wake up your Elephant F**ker! Your Squad has work to do." The Russian voice came in loud and very, very, oh so damn F**king clear. The man wouldn't shut up, ever day he shouted at Him. Everyday the same insults, at least today he did not call him Haji. That in itself was worth a damn parade, a whole F**king parade, with Balloons and Sh*t, in fact throw in a damn Mickey F**King moose. A single eyelid slid open, "Mouse.. yes mouse."

Avasyu woke up. He never woke up tired, he woke up in shape and ready to jump into the CR- Mark I, The Crashing Sun. The other eyelid slowly slid open. He could have been up, oh lickty split quick. Today though, that damn shouting just made him slow down. He was sleeping in his own Cabin upon the Gear Carrier ConFed Ship. He was sleeping on it, out to sea, or at least he thought he was still out at sea, couldn't be sure anymore, He was so damn tired of the f**king sea. His right arm was dangling over the side of his bunk, so using his left arm he lifted himself up and looked over the porthole. "Ohh.." It was still dark, the invasion would begin soon enough. "Calm down you F**king Russian, please." Sitting up in his bed he begun to get dressed while listening to comment of, "Don't speak to me in your f**king Jujuhaji language."

He put on the pants of the uniform, and put his ConFed I.D Tags on, then opened the door and looked outside. "Please.. Calm down, Its still early we are still approaching let me eat.. my breakfast, then I will go." He put the Ohm Symbol in his hand around his neck. Give someone second in command of a ship and he thinks hes god.

----

A few hours later the Attack was underway, and Avasyu was on his part of the attack. Well he was about to start it. The Combat suit he wore at the momment was all he would need for his gear. It got VERY hot in the Crashing sun. You did not need layers. Currently he just wore his Regulation Leggings, with the Various pouches with emergency items on it. A Belt on, with the rest of the items, a Pistol and a few grenades. The top half a Undershirt, the combat shirt he kept off and in the cockpit until he needed it. Though he kept the Bulletproof vest on, though it wouldn't be of much use when he was running around.

Walking out the rest of his squad was together. The mission was important. "Sanders.. Good morning." He greeted the men and the women in his squad. Their Gears were of various types though mostly they were Dragon II. A Back up Nirvana was taken along, or would be taken along when he would need it. He could not hold back the smile that came to him, when he saw the Crashing sun. The Gear was a beast, it stood 24 ft high. It was big, and it was destructive. So many clear the field orders.

Climbing up the Ladder into the cockpit, Avasyu sat down and got comfortable. After sealing himself back inside of it, he could still hear the sounds of the busy ship still going to work. The displays were black, and he could not seat a single thing. Putting a hand up, he begun to flip the switches in the red lighted cockpit. Eventually the gear turned on completely. The red light went off and it was lighted only, by the view screens and the lighted buttons. Good morning. Looking over Avasyu saw Indra his AI, he was programmed to speak in Hindi. "Hello Indra, we have a mission."

A short while later, the stealth carrier sub came up at the ruins of a old prison Island. Surfacing the entire Squad rushed out onto the island weapons to bear and making sure the area was still clear. They had boarded the sub from the carrier, so they could get here. They did get very careful Intel, so he was pretty sure the prison was empty. "What kind of fools.. close down a good prison like this." Looking to the city he could see explosions going off. A short while later he got the all clear.

Marching through the prison, he looked around finding the place fascinating. Though over the years it had begun to fall apart, especially since the war. So much history to be neglected. Eventually they came to what seemed like a Work out yard, behind of him ruined wall they had to blow up to get here. From the area he was at he could clearly see a big, elegant, beautiful bridge. "My.. thats a beautiful structure." "sir?", "Nothing.. Lt don't worry about it."

The mission was to, destroy the bridge, it was both a means to get out supplies and troops, as well as a symbol. The Bay bridge would have to be shot down next. Speaking so only he could hear in the cock pit he begun, "Indra double check.. Calculating distance to the Target, Setting charges to blow at impact." all coordinates correct. He heard the familiar mechanicals whir as his guns adjusted raising up and getting the correct angle. "Indra set comm to the squad. Firing, watch my back." The bombardment begun, his Cannons shout out true. From th distance he could see the Clouds of Fire exploded on the bridge, it could melt steel. The Deep impact Rounds were for for the actually damage. In the comlink he heard the offhand comment of, "Home invading bastards deserve the hell." Damn it got hot in this gear. The small vents that released the back up air, from the cannon fire brought in refreshing air.

((last post, then bed-time for me...early morning >.<))

Sabertooth's boosting system went from its mundane 35% that had been experienced earlier to a far more respectable 76% of its capacity. As the rounds tore through the air, it spiraled backwards, rather than forwards, and backtracked within mere seconds. Once more, the cold voice patched itself forcefully into the Knight's cockpit, "You're quick, maybe next time you can let the computer sit in the backseat and do the thinking yourself. Return to your headquarters and repair. This fight is not for you." Then it suddenly cut out. Still using the smoking ruins of the buildings for cover, Alan threw his gear into reverse and then spun around. Shifting to forward motion and a far heftier set of boosters which awaited his command, he rocketed towards the other end of the combat zone, hoping to prevent his insertion team from being decimated by his absence.

"Run a system's scan and determine where the rounds pierced so I can repair it quickly when we return to base. Also, I think I'll be removing some of my missiles to better accommodate armor but not sacrifice my mobility. Take note of that as well and remind me when we return to base," the voice noted to the computer as he relaxed, "Also, document that computer trace which we just encountered. I would like to disable this system next time I face him. It would be far more interesting to see which of them was doing the fighting." Nodding to himself, he let the diagnostics check continue as planned...

"*radio fuzz* it seems that the entire Alliance sector has begun to rendezvous on us. There's a few old Knight I's out here, but nothing of real interest. *radio fuzz and other replies*"
Alan smiled, at least he could rack up a few more casualties to his count before returning to the land base...

"You're quick, maybe next time you can let the computer sit in the backseat and do the thinking yourself. Return to your headquarters and repair. This fight is not for you."

The feed came in over the global station... was this asshole running away? After saying something like that? No way... Alana saw it coming, flying, near her and Palunu. She hadn't seen a gear like it before, it looked, powerful, much more well built than her's... But then again whoever was driving it was kind of ignoring her. Poor decision.

She moved the gun hand up, aimed... right on.

"This is Maui squadron Palunu unit to the condescending asshole that just pussied out of a fight. Yeah I heard that. How about you return to your headquarters and grow some balls. Right after I tear you a new one."

And squeeze... she pulled her hand together. *click* Damn it. This wasn't happening now. *click* No, really? *click* Jammed. Well, she'd got a couple rounds off before it happened. *click* Yup, still f'ed. She said her Gear wasn't ready. She told them it was f'ed. But no, she had to report anyway...

"Damn it, would you stay still for a second, my gun's jammed." She looked over, there was a police car right next to her. That'd do it. The hand reached forward grabbing hold of the front of the car where she could easily grip it, hurling the car at the Gear. Of course it'd miss, but it'd get his attention. *click* guns still down. And she probably wasn't going to have time to get outside of the Gear to manually remove the jammed clips.

Isamu set on top of Coit Tower, scanning the horizon. When the battle began he was already in his Kousotsu. His orders were to gather Intel with the unique advanced optics that was afforded to him. The stealth systems, now fully active, would keep him out of any random heat or radar guided missiles that managed to fly his way, as well as cloak from all but visual scans. One of the reasons he preferred to operate during the night, where his dark armor blended more into the background.

Using data from on board sensors as well as Intel and combat reports being relayed in real time to his computers, he was able to get a reasonable assessment of the battlefield. He brought up the a 3D overlay of the city for his assessment. For the moment though, the battle was being contained on the Western End of San Francisco, that wouldn’t last long. Advanced units had already penetrated as deep as the Sunset District. One in particular was causing a lot of headaches for several units and angering others. The lines were holding for now, though when the hordes came they would certainly take the island.

The longer the battle went on, the more reinforcements could come from the east. It would not be as easy to conquer this country as it had his home. "My home..." For a moment he thought of back home. If he were there now, he would be with his wife under the Japanese Lilac Tree in their front yard. While he ran his hand over her smooth skin, he would compare her beauty to the pink pedals on the tree. Sometimes, he wondered if he would ever see his family again. On occasion, he wondered if they were even alive.

Suddenly, a series of loud concussions rocked the area. "Isamu, the explosions came from the west, approximately five miles from our current location." An image of an elderly man came up on screen. It was the on board AI, built mainly to interpret the information into actionable data. "Probable location of impact... Golden Gate Bridge."

"An interesting target, though not particularly effective from a military standpoint." He brought up his telescopic sight, ordering a maximum zoom. After a scan of the horizon, Isamu found what he was looking for. "Oda, identify those targets." A few minutes passed as the computer analyzed the images. "Multiple Dragon II's, A Nirvana Class.... and what appears to be a sub though modified to carry Gears."

"So that’s how they arrived. Quite clever, but also a fatal flaw." With a few buttons, he brought online his systems, moving them from stealth mode to combat mode. The engines revving up, and computer began to draw up a firing solution. "Order the squadron to load a volley of SABOTs and prepare a direct line of sight firing on Alcatraz. Primary targets are the submarine, the Nirvana Gear, and the gear firing on the bridge. Then reposition and move into gray mode. We cannot allow these Gears to fall into enemy hands." Isamu knew the final order very well and so did the men. Should the life signs drop below accepted tolerances, the unit will automatically self-destruct. The fusion core was designed to detonate, even if all systems were knocked offline.

The giant war machine stood up upon the tower and looked out on the island. “If they were not going to come to us to battle, then we would bring the battle to them.”

“Houou Squadron is reading green, ready to fire on your mark." The old man reported on screen.

Isamu reached behind him and pulled out his rifle from a compartment and loaded it for SABOTs. He took aim on the submarine, an easy prey as it wouldn't be able to maneuver, that that any of those behemoths could maneuver to well. The Kousotsus medical systems injected a dose of sedative into him, allowing him to relax and focus. After taking in a deep breathe he cried out, "Fire!"

An arc of four shells belched from the rifle and moved on their way to the target. The other units confirmed with a rapid series of blinks that their rounds were away and they were, heading to the target from multiple vectors on separate arcs. For a moment he wanted to watch the rounds hit but knew it would not change the result. Quickly, he returned the rifle to its backpack and initialized the jets, jumping off the tower. He hugged the buildings and moved rapidly through the streets. After traveling for a mile, he turned off the jets and reinitialized stealth mode and headed towards base. "I will wait for darkness," he said to himself. "Then, the fun begins."
