Deitmar arrived at the armory to find that Elliot was already there suiting up for the mission down to the planet. He has not know Elliot for a long time, he met him before they went into the stasis pods for the trip into space. So, far he has not formed an opinion about him yet. Though he seemed to be well educated and a good leader. He never liked giving orders, which was why he took the position in the first place, while he was'nt the leader, he was still in charge of a lot of important things. He walked over to a display case where a P90 was located. He entered the access code, and once the case opened, grabed the weapon. Even though he hated using guns, this was uncharted territory, and knew that being prepared was a must if they were going to suvive anything. He made sure that his P90 was on safety before walking into the dressing room. He didn't have to look long to find his black suit that looked like a Spec Ops uniform. He really liked that it let him move around with ease, he liked close-quarter combat and this suit was designed perfectly for it; as well as moving in space and underwater. He set his P90 to the side and after making sure that the life support systems was working did he put the suit on. He did a couple of straight punches and kicks to make sure he could move easily.
"This suit is amazing." Deimtar said with excitment. He slung his P90 over his shoulder and put some of the extra clips that he got into one of the side pockets the suit had.

Angela sat in her ready room now that was off from the bridge, looking at her screen again, which Elliot would probably comment upon should he think to come and find her. This room was decorated simply, a few photos of family and friends on the desk a few of her most prized positions mounted on the wall. Like the curved blade that hung on the wall directly behind her. It over all length was about four feet from sword tip to the end of the handle Sword.

It was given to her during their last encounter with an intelligent species she and the leader exchanged tokens of their new alliance. It was something that was very dear to her heart, having come from one of the few allies that earth has been able to convince to join there side. Now she sat going over supplies and other back paperwork making sure that everything was in order before they risked everything on this new planet. She went to the replicator(Yes a replicator) and got herself a cup of hot chocolate, sipping it with satisfaction she went back to her desk.

So this planet was the hope and future of the whole human race, Angela only hoped that this was the case. She had a sister counting on her to find a place where her nephews could grow up in freedom and with clean air. A place where they would no longer have to worry about mutations or defects. A place where the human race could try to become strong again, only this time they would not destroy the planet in the process.

S.A.R.A had been working in the engine room since the original call for the destabilization of the crew’s stasis chambers. Elyandra had suffered minor engine failure since the initial launch, but the humans had no reason to know about that. S.A.R.A’s devotion was first and foremost to her mother, Elyandra. She didn’t hate the humans, but she couldn’t worry about them over her mother. In addition she refused to report the damage to the humans because as a species they were irrational and dangerous when in the face of chaos. The damage was minor, but if it had gone un-repaired it would have degraded over time. One might have asked what happened but the answer would have been unclear. Even after intense analysis S.A.R.A couldn’t discern the problem, but she had her suspicions. An inherent construction flaw in the human’s initial designs was the most probable cause of the engine malfunction. The fusion cap on one of the secondary fusion engines was leaking and eventually the hydrogen would have built up in the engine cavity resulting in a small thermonuclear explosion. S.A.R.A was not frightened she just worked constantly to repair the cap and inspect the remaining engines; she had only stopped to release the stasis field on the crew at Elyandra’s request.

About two hours had passed since S.A.R.A initiated the awakening process and she was finally completing her inspection of the engines. When done she put the small data pad into her pocket, normally she would have been expected to provide a report for the captain, but Elyandra didn’t want Angela to know about the problems. The android picked up her tools and walked back to her quarters. She had passed several crew members along the way, but no one of standing, not that she would have saluted or anything anyway. S.A.R.A didn’t feel a need to show respect to humans, because in her eyes no one man was better than another and she was the only reason they were alive. If S.A.R.A had wanted to she could shut down the life support or even scuttle the engine. She never would of course, just like Elyandra S.A.R.A loved the crew; or she loved them as much as an emotionless construct could. They were her charge and her programming was to keep them alive and she would do just that. Life was hard for S.A.R.A though, she was self-aware and she could ignore her programming at will; many humans mistrusted self-aware machines and many opposed their research and development. S.A.R.A always had thoughts like these and had she had the ability to feel sadness she would be in a deep depression. She always thought about the prejudice against her and she frequently wondered what her true purpose was. S.A.R.A didn’t know what to do so she just continued to serve her purpose like every other member of the crew. She dropped her tools in the proper place, changed into her uniform, and went to see Captain Angela for the first time since their departure from Earth’s charred remains. S.A.R.A walked along the corridors of the ship in her crisp uniform. Her head was bowed low and she headed toward the bridge where the Captain likely waited.

"It's nothing too special," Elliot said, despite the fact that he loved the suit as much as the next guy did. "I'm going out for a test procedure. I'll be floating around outside the ship if you need me." He scurried off with a smirk on his face. I'll be floating around...? That was gay, he thought. Elliot marched through the corridors to make his way to the air lock station that gave direct access to the exterior. He passed by S.A.R.A along the way. She looked intent on heading towards the bridge; probably to talk with the captain. Elliot knew of her stress onboard the ship, being around a crowd of humans all the time and taking the crap and prejudice thrown at her left and right. He felt sorry for the android, but then again, he barely knew it...or her.

Elliot let his mind refocus on where he was going. Unfortunatly, he did this too late and ran smack into a wall, drawing the attention of a few laughing comrads. "Careful there, Commander. Wouldn't want you to knock yourself into a comma before the big recon mission, now would you?"

Elliot smiled with a little embarrasment and laughed with them. "I guess not," he said. He turned and kept going down the corridor, rubbing his head along the way and checking to see how big of a bump would soon arise from the skull. God damn wall, he commented in his thoughts. He finally reached the air lock station and stepped inside the first lock. The procedure started up with the vacuum of all gases in the chamber. While it was doing this, Elliot covered his head with his visor and locked it tight around the collar of the suit. Next, came a series of loud clicks and clanks as the blast doors behind him closed tight. Finally, the red light above the exit doors turned green and they opened up, revealing deep space behind a blue energy barrier. The barrier showed where the artificial gravity simulation came to an end. Once outside that barrier, he would be as light as a feather with only the suit's stabilizer functions to control him. Elliot took a deep breath from within his visor and ran forward, leaping out into space, through the barrier. As his body passed the barrier, he felt an odd sensation in his stomach as the gravity released his body and he went tumbling outside of the Elyandra.

He activated the suit's stabilizing mechanisms and used the small air jets to give him a shove up to the top of the ship. The suit's energy cells were constantly producing artifical oxygen that wouldn't cause any harm to Elliot's body. The air would be diverted to his visor for him to breathe, and to the small jet pack on his back that would allow him to move and stabilize himself in space. The jets gave Elliot enough of a push to rise up to the windows of the bridge. He waved at the navigational officers on deck as they smiled and waved back, thinking he was an idiot. The ship was on temporary standby. They would ignite the thrusters once Captain West finished up the paperwork. They were three days away, but sitting ducks. This is what allowed Elliot the time to stretch his legs in space. Elliot finally made his way around the bridge itself to the windows that peered into the Captain's Quarters. There he saw her at her desk filling out the paperwork. He used the jets to get himself closer to the window. She still hadn't seen him, so he decided to joke around with her. He got up real close and tapped on the glass with the end of the rifle in his hands.

Normally Captain West was not some one who was easily scared, in fact she rarely ever got scared at all about anything really. Always keeping a cool head and a calm demeanor allowed her to be the excellent leader that she was. However, it was never in the books on deep exploration to expect a tapping on your window from OUTSIDE. They were in SPACE after all and as far as she knew everyone was still on board the ship getting ready to arrive at the planet.

So without much warning there came a tapping at her window and Angela jumped, spilling the still very hot chocolate on herself and her screen. "AHH!" she cries as she jumps from her seat, spinning around her hazel eyes a flame she glares out the window at Elliot. Her arms held away from her wet body as she looked out at him, "Computer open up a channel to Commander Elliot" the ship keyed in on his location and opened up the link, "My ready room in 15." she said then disconnected the link without giving him a chance to reply. Grumbling she exited her ready room, the crew on the bridge looking up with smiles only to look quickly away when they see the look on her face. Stalking away down the halls she heads toward her quarters, so consumed by her anger she is not really paying attention as to where she is going. It was the over casting shadow that gave her the slightest hint and allowed her to move out of the way in just enough time to not collide head on into S.A.R.A.

"Sorry I did nor see you there." she says as she stands straighter looking down at the android, "I'm going to assume you were on the way to the bridge to report to me." she gestures down at her uniform, "As you can see I'm not on the bridge but on my way to my personal quarters to change my uniform. You can either follow me and report along the way or meet me in my ready room?" she says as she gives a sigh at how having to change her uniform was putting a damper on her so far good morning. Whatever the decision Angela will continue down to her quarters where she will wash up, change her uniform and be back in her ready room waiting for Elliot and listening to S.A.R.A's report.

Elliot was balling over in the suit outside. Never in his life did he expect to witness such a triumphent moment for his humor in the history of the universe. He heard Angela's angered voice loud and clear through the comm link and knew he was in for it now. At least he could walk into the ready room with a smile on his face.

------

Back inside the ship, he decided to keep the suit on, but attatched his weapon to the cuff behind the shoulder. He looked like a marine ready for action. Who knows, he might need it when facing the captain in a few minutes. He made his way through the corridors and up to the bridge where the officers applauded him upon entry for his stupid and dashing joke. "Way to go Commander!" one said.

"Yeah, nice one," agreed another.

Elliot just waved with an evil smile on his lips, enjoying the spot light that would soon fade and he would be facing the head lights of a big mac like a deer caught in the middle of a road. He was, of course, referring to Angela's furry, that he knew would be coming as soon as he walked through the doors dead ahead.

He let the automatic doors slide open with a hiss and stepped inside the Ready Room. He glanced at his watch. It took him only five out of the fifteen that was alotted to him to get here. Damn, he was good. "Commander Carvier reporting on deck," he said, saluting Angela who was with S.A.R.A. "If I may say, Captain, you really need to put that computer down. It's making you....jumpy?" He did his best to keep back a grin, but eventually just let it out and even giggled a little. He was having too much fun.

Deitmar had just put the comm link into his right ear, when he yelped in pain as he heard Angela's voice blare through, yelling at Carvier for doing something yet again. He quickly turned the comm link off in a reaction to the loud noise, then shaking his head trying to get the ringing sound out of his ears. He wondered what his Commanding Officer did this time. Even though he was his superior officer, he acted like a kid sometimes. He did think it was amusing though and couldn't help but chuckle as he imagined what Angela's expression would have been. Since they were not leaving yet, he decided to put something else over the suit he was wearing because he got cold very easily. He put on some dark green cargo jeans and matching jacket. He shouldered his P90 and walked out of the armory and headed for the ready room since he overheard Angela saying for Carvier to meet her there.

He walked down a large hallway, mostly staring at the floor because he didnt want to make eye cotact. Making eye contact with someone usually meant that you wanted to speak to them. He arrived at the Ready room but decided to wait outside until Angela was done yelling at Commander Carvier.

S.A.R.A could tell that the captain was rather upset, but she didn’t know how to react to it. S.A.R.A considered human emotion irrational and obsolete. According to S.A.R.A’s calculations, efficiency decreased by nearly 50% when emotions were present. Had she been able to feel happiness she would have been glad that the irrational right brain functioning had been left out of her simulated brain. Not know how to interact properly with the human, S.A.R.A did what she always did and just followed protocol.

“Good morning captain I trust your slumber and the awakening process were comfortable for your human body,” S.A.R.A uttered in that harsh expressionless voice. She sounded feminine, but a strange kind of feminine. A feminine voice that lacked feeling or concern, she sounded like a sociopath and probably could be classified as one. She continued to speak, “My scan indicates that you are wet captain. Advice: change uniform.”

S.A.R.A looked away for a moment as the two of them passed by some lowly crew members. She continued to speak once out of the hearing range of the crewmen, “Captain, I have completed routine inspection and maintenance of fusion engine 2, 5, and 7 at 7 GMT approximately 2 hours after your awakening. All systems are running at optimal efficiency and I hope that the ship’s climate is comfortable to your obsolete human construction.” S.A.R.A didn’t mean to be insulting but she had no reason not to be. She spoke objectively, based solely on fact. Compared to herself, the captain, was obsolete and her systems functioned at only about half of the efficiency of S.A.R.A’s mechanical shell. One of the drawbacks of being emotionless was that it was difficult to prevent insulting the fragile minds of humans when only speaking fact. She had finished her report as the two entered Angela’s room. Without a word S.A.R.A immediately got another uniform for the captain, handed it to Angela, and stood in the corner waiting for her to change. S.A.R.A waited patiently for the captain to finish so the two could return to the bridge.

Angela walked with S.A.R.A listening to her reports, not taking much offense to her rude remarks she had gotten use to them, though she had to admit she was not really in the mood for her emotionless attitude. Yet at the moment she was more focused on changing her uniform so that she could get back to her ready room to discipline Elliot. She swears sometimes she does not know why she does not just throw him in an airlock and turn him into the universes problem. Sighing she pulls off her shirt and then pants, throwing them on the floor where the ship would take them to be laundered and then return them to her closet pressed and ready to be worn. Taking the one S.A.R.A handed to her she gets dressed checking her uniform in the mirror to make sure everything was aligned and in order. "Glad to here everything is working properly, though I would not have expected anything less from such my ship." she says this with pride just like any other captain would. "Alright lets get back to the bridge." Due to her agitated state she made it back to the bridge in no time, the smiles and laughing ending as soon as she enters. "I hope everyone will be ready for my command to engage the engines? Seeing how everyone has time to just stand around and laugh. Perhaps we will see about getting everyone re-certified on their basic alien encounters and diplomacy?" there were several audible groans and grumbles. "I did not think so. Back to work." she says with a commanding tone. She was an easy captain, often joking and spending time among her crew, but she still needed them to respect her and follow her orders without hesitation. The bridge immediately went back to life as she stalked through and into her ready room.

"Commander Carvier reporting on deck," he said, saluting Angela who was with S.A.R.A. "If I may say, Captain, you really need to put that computer down. It's making you....jumpy?"

Angela looked up from her desk her eyes smoldering with anger, she made him hold the salute for a minute before she returned it allowing him to lower his arm. She could not believe he had the nerve to giggle in her face, like this was something that she was going to allow him to get away with. Her and Elliot were friends he was someone she often went to when she had a problem and she wanted his feed back. She went to him more then her own second officer, he was intelligent, loyal and easy going. The crew often went to him as well finding it easier to speak with him then one of the other officers. Yet despite all of this and her personal feelings for him, she was not going to allow him to disrespect her in front of her crew. "I'm glad you are in such a good mood commander. Since your little stunt has gotten you mess hall duty for the next three days until we reach the planet." as he began to protest she held up her hand to stop him, "Seeing how I need you for the mission you are only obligated to do morning and evening duty in the mess hall, the rest of that time you are to be preparing for the mission. Anymore stunts like earlier and I will pull you from the first landing mission, regardless of how much I could use you. Are we clear? Good. Now go and continue with your preparations for the mission..." she glanced down at her screen, "You only have about 3 more hours before you will be needed in the mess hall. You are dismissed." she says looking back down at her screen and waving him out with out another word. "Lt. Colonel Jackson! Enter." she says as she checks some files on her screen wondering what it was that he had wanted to discuss.

Deitmar watched as Cariver walked out of the ready room looking a little down. He couldn't help but smile as he went by. He found it quite amusing for his superior to get told off for his actions. He heard Commander West shout out his name and he jumped with a start. His heart picked up speed, becoming increasingly nervous, he was begining to regret following Carvier, he should have minded his own business, which he usually did but for some reason he had an impulse to follow. Darn, he did not think Commander West would be able to sense his presence from outside the room, especially since she was too busy yelling at Carvier. He had made a miscalculation, which usually didn't happen, but no human is perfect. He let out a long sigh, before walking in, making sure that his face bore no expression. He had walked in to see Angela completely absorbed with her handheld computer, with S.A.R.A. right next to her. He didn't have much communication with her, but he did know that S.A.R.A was an interesting android to talk to, she liked saying the truth even if you didn't like what she said. He gave Commander West a salute and waited for her to address him.
"Second Commander Lt. Colonel Deitmar Jackson reporting in." He kept his voice as monotone as possible so she wouldn't be able to tell that he was nervous or that he had been laughing silently in his head in the hall while Carvier was getting yelled at.
