Deitmar could almost feel the ship roar to life as it took off into space. They were soon ingulfed into the vast emtpyness, with only the billions of stars to fill it. He gazed out of the front window of the ship to see the planet come into his visual sight, the various hues of green and blue appearing very similar to the one they left. The idea of exploring a new world excited him, the new sights, smells, animals, plants and even inaminate objects. The whole entire time they were flying towards the new planet, he heard S.A.R.A say again for what seemed like the third time in a row that Elliot should be terminated for endangering the mission. Although, he couldn't see how he was, I mean he was just taking a joy ride. What was the problem in having a little fun? However he knew better than to voice his opinion when his Commander was in a rage like this. He felt the ship begin its decent into the atmosphere and the thrusters shift upwards, which accelerated the decent. Once they landed into a small clearing, he felt the ship power down and the hatch open, spilling brilliant light into the ship. He followed out after the Commander and S.A.R.A, his boots falling on soft green grass, or what looked like grass anyway. He made a mental note to take a sample later for analysis. He look in a deep lungful of fresh air, letting it fill his lungs before exhaling. "Cool" It was all he could say, he couldn't find the right words to describe this planet or express what he was feeling right now, he was never really good with words to begin with though. He never learned how to express his feelings.

The faint sounds of a discharging weapon reached her ears, Angela brought the rifle up to her shoulder her hazel eyes sighting down the scope as her steps slowed. "Perhaps our Commander has come across some thing hostile?" she voices the rest of the group not really looking for an answer or response, but not ignoring one should one be voiced either. Mainly she was just speaking her thoughts, a habit that she formed as a child when she was nervous as a means to calm herself and stay focus.
She would never admit it to her crew, but she was afraid...this was hostile territory and they were completely alone out here with no back up or chance of immediate EVAC. Plus with the way she filed the paperwork, the rest of the Earth would not start to arrive until about three days from now. Then it would take them another three months and thats only if they fire the engines at full capacity and sleep in stasis. Until then Captain West and her crew were on their own, on a planet that she lied about to the rest of earth in her eagerness to find them a new home. Should anything horrible befall the crew or ship, then she would lose her stripes and possibly spend sometime in prison. Taking a deep breath as she whipped her brow with the back of her hand, sweat hand suddenly appeared despite the climate control on the suit that kept her body at a comfortable 65 degrees. Pushing aside some large plant leaves she continued on her way, the beacon on her scanner indicating that she was getting closer to her intended target. Her anger for his disobedience now replaced with fear of her friend and guilt for placing her crew into such danger. She could only pray that this all turned out to be the hope for their species, because if not there was a chance that their number could drop by another thousand come the completion of this mission. |

Elliot grabbed Leander's hand and they ran together through the woods. He had the strange feeling that the beast had friends and they would soon be surrounded by them. He kept the AR over his shoulder and he eventually let Leander run on his own; which the kid was thankful for. As they ran through the forested area, branch after branch slapped him in the face. He came up to a small creek and leeped over it, Leander following close behind. He heard a growl from the distance and saw the faint grey fur of another beast rise over a hill. It stopped to eye and sniff them from the distance. When Elliot drew the AR, the beast lunged forward at him.
Two shots and it was down...just like his comrad before him. Elliot realized that all this noise was probably drawing the others to them. He wouldn't mind dealing with other soldiers or even the captain. But what he didn't want to run into was that stupid android. In no damn way would he ever be happy to see S.A.R.A. again. Elliot and Leander continued their long run through the shrubbery and the tress. The sun was high in the sky and it was beginning to get humid underneath the tall canopies. They eventually came to a large pond at the bottom of a cliff that they were standing on. A waterfall was on the other side. The pond was roughly round with what he guessed to have a fourty foot diameter, from their position to the waterfall on the other side. Another one of those creatures was closing in fast. When he turned around to fire at it, it was already on him. The beast's paws slammed into his chest and knocked him over the edge. With swift action and quick thought, he reholstered the AR over his shoulder during the freefall and pressed the button behind his kneck that lowered his visor, cutting off outside atmosphere from getting inside his suit. He slammed through the water and began to float gently down to the bottom. The beast plunged in shortly afterwards. He unholstered the AR. He hoped that it was designed enough to do significant damage underwater. He kicked on the air boosters on his back and manuevered fast underwater. The beast, apparently able to swim, moved closer, but slowly. It was going to try and catch fish out its prey. Elliot pulled the trigger several times with the AR set to single-shot action. The ammunition moved fast underwater, dispite its hindered environment. The bullets stuck down the beast and it tossed and turn in the pain. Blood was seeping out of its fur coat and soon it became still, slowly floating to the surface. Elliot let the boosters bring him to the surface. He found himself close to the edge of the pond. Leander was standing just above him. "Need a hand?" he asked. Last edited by rouge47 : 05-28-2008 at 06:31 PM. |

Deitmar faintly heard two gun shots in the distance, he unsheathed the dagger that was holstered around his thigh and raised it up slowly. He could feel the adrenaline kicking in as his heart beat increased. He didn't know what it could be, but for Elliot to give away his position just to kill an animal was unlikely. He concluded that he must be in some sort of danger, or he could just be over thinking the situation; however that was highly unlikely. He started to look around for a sign that Elliot and Leander had been there, and there it was a couple of yards away: A broken branch on some type of bush that pointed south. "Commander, they went this way." he pointed in the direction he found the broken branch. "They can't be too far away." His voice remained steady despite the fact that he did not want to meet whatever it was Elliot had managed to find.
