Jack went into the kitchen for a few minutes, and she sat down on the corner of the bed. Her face was beginning to hurt again, now that she was awake and more aware of her own body. Mel's wounds reminded her for Dave, for some reason. He always seemed like the one that would be getting into the most fights in their group. However, there she was...with a split lip and a black eye. Reaching up she touched her bruise, and wondered how Dave was doing. Did he get drunk last night? Surely he didnt miss either her nor Jack.

Just as she was about to wonder about the other two band members and Mr. Pitts, Jack entered the room and approached her with bandaids and loving hands. She smiled as she closed her eyes, allowing him to put the tiny bandaids where they mattered.


"Okay, we're ready to head over there. I'll go ahead and stay quiet about us, if it'll ease your mind. I don't want anyone's feelings hurt, especially not yours."

At first she just frowned. Did he not want people to know about them? Then, she eased her brow and smiled gently. Wouldnt it be more fun if it was a secret? She really didnt know how the others would react to her and Jack being involved, so she figured that it was best if it was kept quiet for now.

"I'm ready to roll out for the day. How about you?"

Melrose glanced over at him just in time to see him pull his pants up over his boxers. She was so glad that he didnt wear his pants down to his knees like many musicians. Really, she was overall thankful that she didnt have to give him fashion lessons. Standing up she crossed the room, completley unaware of how exotic her japanese features made her look...even when she was dressed in basketball clothes. Mel then took ahold of the front of his pants and pulled him closer, leaning up to give his chin a sweet kiss with the side of her mouth that wasnt injured.

“It wouldnt hurt my feelings if it got out that we were together, but...maybe it would be more interesting if it was a secret for now.” She grinned, and noticed that she was never more aware of how tall he was until she was standing right in front of him. “I'm ready when you are, today will be fun.”

With that said she turned around quickly, and skipped out of the room. She had gotten to spend the night snuggled up to the man she had been crushing on for months, and now she got to go back home where she would be able to play with the band and...perhaps get a dose before they headed off to the gig.

Dave stood in the shower, soaking under the hot water. It made him feel good...almost like a whiskey...rum...or tequila shot.
He couldn't keep his mind off alcohol, but this time, his mind split it's time between alcohol and Kyra. It was the weirdest thing,he couldn't remember doing it before. Except the time he'd seen Iced Earth live...then he couldn't decide who to think of.

But, this was nothing like having just seen a band live, this was something else. Something nearly foreign to Dave. He never usually thought about girls unless they were getting naked right in front of him. It was at that moment he realized how sleazy he'd really become. The only reason he'd communicate with women outside of the band was to fuck them.

"Wow...I'm an asshole...but..." Dave found a sickening sense in not being able to finish that sentence.
He just hoped Mel and Jack came home so they could get to talking about their next gig.

Jack smiled down at her as she did the cutest possible thing ever, placing a hand on his face at where she kissed him, his eyes watching her the entire time as she left the room. Grabbing his key from the rack, opening the door as he called out to Melrose.

"Alright, we're out the door."

Holding her hand as they walked, he didn't say much, instead just enjoying the sunlight as he looked to her, moving his thumb against her smooth skin.

"I honestly never thought this would happen. I guess I figured it was a crush, ya know?" He stayed silent as he listened to the sound of a bird chirping, before grinning, looking down into her eyes as she looked back up to him.

"It's nice."

He picked her up as they crossed a huge puddle, setting her feet gently down on the dry crosswalk as they continued on their way, the crash pad still a few blocks away.

"So, I'm never good at conversations. Start talking Mel. Ask me some questions, I'll answer them."

"I honestly never thought this would happen. I guess I figured it was a crush, ya know?"

Mel smiled up to Jack with a brightness in her eyes that was never there when she was on her drugs. She then gripped his hand tighter, and leaned her head over onto his shoulder breifly before she looked back up to him. “Yeah, this just feels...good.” It was hard for her to describe but...she enjoyed having someone around that could nearly distract her from her drugs. Someone that could tempt her away from them.

"So, I'm never good at conversations. Start talking Mel. Ask me some questions, I'll answer them."

“oo, I like questions.” She smirked, and looked up to the sky while she tried to come up with a few questions to start him out on. “Have you ever had a serious relationship? And...how long did your longest last?”

Jack smirked as he thought of that, quickly maneuvering around an open manhole as he calculated in his head, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

"It was about 2 months. She wanted to go all the way, I decided it wasn't the time, so she found a new guy. Answer your question?" It was obvious he thought nothing of it any more, for there was not a trace of remorse upon his face.

"Next question. And feel free to answer your own while you're at it. Same with the next one."

“My longest relationship was a year...and he wasnt very nice.” Despite the hurtful thoughts that was running through her mind, she kept a smile on her face. She was in good hands now. Hands that would only caress and hold, and never punch or slap.

“Next question. When was your first time, and where was it?” She just assumed he knew that she was talking about 'sex'. It was quite obvious what she was speaking of, between the curious look on her face and the little smile over her lips. “My first time was when I was eighteen...it wasnt the best, but it was in a kinky spot. The shower.” Melrose flushed a little, something she never did when she was high.

Jack blushed when she asked him the question, and even more so when she gave him her own answer. His first instinct was to come up with a lie, some macho story filled with testosterone induced glory. But he couldn't do that to her, because the lie would some day come back to bite him in the butt. Just like what all lies do.

"To be honest, I've never done it. "

The birds seemed to halt their song for a moment as the silence grew around him, Jack finding himself looking away for a moment before looking back at her, giving a small laugh.

"It just never has felt like the right time before, ya know? No reason to lose it to someone who you don't plan on being with for the rest of your life. That's just me, I guess. I just want my first time to be special."

"To be honest, I've never done it. "

The birds did stop their singing. Actually, everything in the world seemed to just pause. Even Melrose stopped walking. Her jaw dropped and her large eyes got a little bit bigger.

"It just never has felt like the right time before, ya know? No reason to lose it to someone who you don't plan on being with for the rest of your life. That's just me, I guess. I just want my first time to be special."

“Well...I know what you mean.” Mel started walking again, and she was now looking down at the ground with a small smile on her face. In a way she thought it was sexy that he was a virgin. An untained rock star. “I dont think I've ever taken anyones virginity before.” She gave him a gentle, teasing, nudge...and then went back to thinking about other questions to ask him.

“Do you have any secrets you want to tell me? I dont tell anyone.” That was the only other question she could really think about. Melrose loved secrets, and she was good at keeping them. If she could...she would live off of secrets. She was now looking up to him again, leaning in a little closer when a car sped by them loudly.

Jack stopped with her latest question as he dropped his head, thinking. Any secrets? Jack was like an open book, always having been known to keep no personal demons. His friends' on the other hand, seemed to weigh him down as well. Lifting his head up, he finally came back to the real world for a moment as he looked to Melrose, a faint smile on his face.

"Only one. I sometimes can't sleep at night because I think of the stuff you do. The drugs and whatnot... I can't really sleep peacefully knowing what you're putting into your body. I know, it's none of my business. It just bugs me some times."

He felt like he had stepped too far, and waited for her to let go of his hand. Thankfully, she did no such thing. He said nothing for a bit, finally starting up some random chatter with her again, it becoming peaceful between them once more. As they neared the crash pad, Jack pulled her softly along next to a building, putting both hands at her cheeks.

"Since we're keeping this a secret, I'll give you one last kiss for the day, I do suppose."

And with that he leaned in, giving her a deep kiss, not breaking it until she felt the need to.

"Only one. I sometimes can't sleep at night because I think of the stuff you do. The drugs and whatnot... I can't really sleep peacefully knowing what you're putting into your body. I know, it's none of my business. It just bugs me some times."

Melrose looked up to Jack, and then leaned her head against his shoulder once again. She knew that it bothered him when she did drugs. In the back of her mind she knew that she could eventually loose him if she continued to do drugs. When she took her first shot of heroin she hadnt planned on getting addicted. She also didnt plan on using it for the rest of her life. So, right then, she decided to try to ween herself off of her drug of choice.


"Since we're keeping this a secret, I'll give you one last kiss for the day, I do suppose."

“Aw, not the last one...” She whimpered, but stopped immediately when he leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. If she couldnt kiss him whenever she wanted, she wasnt sure if she liked them being a secret anymore. At first she kept her hands at her side, but then she couldnt help but slide them up his chest and then up to the sides of his face. “Mm, I like those.” Mel pulled away and smiled, bringing her hands away from him and then turning to head up to the apartment.

No doubt her bruises and split lip would be questioned by the band, but just in case she managed to slip it by them she kept her bandaid on and hoped that the make up she had put on was enough to hide it.
